I may have this problem. Did the laptop on video make a weird sound at startup aside from dim display? Not a beep noise.

Nice video... what if half of my screen looks like is not lit, meaning the screen works but, half of it is darker... could it be the same problem?

Hello, just wondering if you can use any Sony backlight inverter for a pretty ancient Sony vaio laptop? Don't think I can get one of the original backlights? Thank you.

My backlight has stopped working, but after taking the panel apart there was no visible inverter. Does this mean that it could be behind the black screen or should I replace the screen altogether ?

@@Adamant_IT I have a toshiba c655 LED with no backlight, tried checking the cables etc plugging in, cleaning no luck. What do you mean by mohterboard issue, Is it solvable ?

You need to break the plastic under the lcd to find out what kind of backlight it has? Seriously?

***** Googling specs isn't kinda quicker? Not using pwm led is all but nasty. The only thing that led revolutionized is the eye strain and headache.
