*Perfect band saw for the hobby enthusiast **MyBest.Tools** Easy to set up and square. 😂😀😂😀Had it😎 running in 10 to 15 minutes. Quality of cuts will depend on the🤣🤣🤣 quality of the blades.*

I've really considered this bandsaw as I don't have the disposable income many pros or extreme hobbyists do for a really good unit. Try this for your sloppy miter gauge: 1) Clean your miter gauge bar with acetone or alcohol to remove any oils or resin. 2) Take the foil air conditioning duct tape (not the cloth kind). Cut very narrow strips to place on one side of your miter gauge bar, one layer at a time until there's enough to make it a snug fit, but still slide freely. I've done this on a few of my miter gauge equipped tools and it works great. I am anxious to see your updated review after you've really put this thing through it's paces. Thanks for this video.

I got this as an entry level saw and I am overall pleased with it. My big beef is that the light is mounted behind the saw. It is a very powerful light and the reflection of the table is blinding while the front of the blade and the line on the wood are in the shade

I own a WEN 2000 watt portable generator and am very happy with it. It's less than half the price of the similar Honda. They're an American company around since 1951, albeit making their products in Asia.

Drill a small hole in each end of the miter gauge bar. Then cut a slot with the bandsaw right down the center of that hole. Then screw a small set screw into the hole. The deeper it gets, the wider it spreads the slot and will make it adjustable to remove any slop in the miter gauge.

Aaron Ace I’m really digging it. It’s straight forward, no bells and whistles. My only complaint would be that the table is a bit small but still works for most of what I do. Plus I’m planning on making a bigger more robust table.

So many times, I look at inexpensive bandsaws, and they advertise as 10", but they're actually talking about the throat, not the depth, so they're typically 3.5-4" max depth. As I want to use a bandsaws for many things building guitars, resawing tops is definitely high on the list of things I need a saw for. Your video convinced me this is the saw I'm gonna get to start with, so thanks!

I love this saw. Very high quality for the money. For my purposes this is the best value in small bandsaws. I do enjoy when the weak link in a product is an accessory, in this case the miter gauge. I also have their drill press another very good product from wen.

My father had a WEN tablesaw and circular saw back in the mid 1960’s. They were cheap and awful tools. I remember how the motor brushes shot out sparks. I was hesitant when I saw the bandsaw brand but after a few reviews I bought one. I am very happy with it. As a light duty wood crafter I don’t expect it to match a $2000 bandsaw but so far it has performed well.

I do remember WEN tools in the 60s and 70s. They were cheap and bulky but a lot of people had them. I got a WEN drill press a month ago and it is "F"n State-of-the-art", and cheap. I mean it's like ryobi pricing and honda performance. Based on a month of use I would recommend WEN tools. I really wasn't expecting much either.

Thank you for this review! I am currenrly considering purchasing one of these, so it's timely as well. From the appearance, it looks like it could be mounted on a bench instead of using that stand. The main other thing I'm concerned about is availability of additional blades.

It’s looks like a decent entry level product, when you look at the next step up the grizzly or shop fox band saw those are much better quality in my opinion. Those band saws fence miter gauge and overall product is a step up. It is almost 300lbs though.

hey luke good review Wen was a company that made many corded power tools in the 1960s and 70s my Dad had a lot of them and they were pretty decent one i remember very well was a saw they built that was sort of a combination of a it Saw and a reciprocating saw they had branded something like a klutz ll or similar i also believe some of their tools were rebranded for Sears and Montgomery Wards who were both very large retailers in America i do not believe these newer generation tools are a part of that original corporation as i’m pretty sure that was dissolved by one of the major tool companies buying out the competition years ago Stanley and Black and Decker wer two names that did that quite a bit over the years i’m not sure who got Wen Ib am a retired Woodworker and as you stated with the band saw they are a decent brand for the money these days not necessarily the highest of quality but they will get the job done they offer a track saw thats been reviewed on You Tube because its one of the lowest priced track saws available on Amazon they also have one of the lowest priced Dust Collectors which supposedly again works well for a home shop i personally am between homes and shops at this time but i will probably use some of the previous mentioned items in my next set up i also like a couple of the bench top sanders they offer

Yes-ish. I have had this saw for a few years now and I love and hate it. When I am just trying to do some simple cutting with just some curves or cutting a pattern it is great. When I try to do re-saving I get so frustrated. First thing to know is the motor is only 3.5 amps. Everything I read says “The strong 3.5 amp motor will not leave you wanting more power...”, yet somehow I really want more power. like I said, for 75% of my use it is a great little saw.but that other 25% leaves me beating my head on a wall. As an example, when I am cutting router templates out of MDF to use as a guide for a flush cut router bit, easy days, saw is great. The blade guard protrudes an extremely long way forward of the actual blade, in my humble opinion. This means in intricate detail cutting my view is blocked by the blade guard and I end up having to cut with the guard raised high enough that two things happen. One, there is a lot of exposed blade for my hand to wander into. Two, my blade’s support is far enough away that making a tight turn twists the blade and my guide bearings are unable to keep my blade tracking. My other issue with the blade guard for tighter cutting is the shadow it casts in what would have been a brilliant integrated light. The biggest frustration is trying to rests on denser material. I have come into a large amount of live oak and peach wood. I have split a lot for running the smoker but am also trying to cut some down for projects. I am rough sawing between my table saw and my band saw since I married an accountant who says I have no reason to spend money on a mill, even a simple Alaskan mill to clamp onto my chain saws. Anyway, I have split them down with a homemade froe and am resawing them with this bandsaw. It bogs down and stops the blade, wheels and all, in the oak and the peach requires me to go very slow as well or it bogs down. I have air dried the slabs for a year in the garage. As for your question, it may work if you move slow. If you are using dense wood for your blanks you may get frustrated. Currently I’m waffling about keeping it as is for smaller work and upgrading to a second saw, a 14” with a 1.75HP motor, or looking into buying a new motor to make this one more powerful.

There is a pulley system similar to the one found on drill presses. You mechanically adjust the belt to whichever of the two settings you wish to use. It's located at the lower wheel.
