Great reaction! Before Tom's career took off, he was homeless and talked to people on the streets and learned their stories. The ones that are in this song are some he learned from that time in his life. He recorded this song in South Central LA. So everyone in the video are legit too!. ^.^ #HOG

This song means more to me than probably any song I have ever heard. I was in a dark place in my live and after hearing this I decided to keep living. I have no family and would probably never be missed but with HOG I now have a home. Things are far from good now but I now have the strength to open my eyes every day and keep going hoping I can find the green pastures before I breathe my last. I owe a lot to Tom.

With the "put down the phone phone and ask" lyric, I have been watching a psychologist talk to people on live streams and he said he found out after talking to a few people that claim they're depressed, they don't need clinical help, they don't need a psychologist, they don't need medication. They just need someone who they can have a proper honest conversation with. And he was shocked how many people actually are craving that, but they don't even know they needed it because they've never experienced a honest, open conversation without judgement ever in their life.

Yeah. There is a whole emerging field of psychology around that. People are developing issues from the cell phone, social media, and internet culture. Losing some of our humanity in our desperate attempt to connect artificially.

A medical issue involving a few thousand cactus needles and my mom happened about two years back, she had a white blood cell count over twice the harmful amount, almost died of infection. I spent about four hours a night for the better part of two months picking them out. This song plays in my head every time I see her smiling.

This song makes me want to cry. Sentimental as I get older. Sad how disconnected we get... and judge people when were all so similar at a base level. The millionaire and the homeless both have problems. No life is perfect. We all struggle. I think people forget that.. and it shows in the media and what is going on right now. Everyone blaming everyone else for their problems.. no ones connected. Most of these people thinking they are being caring are actually lacking empathy for the other sides perspective.
