Got this on the German Amazon site for 743 Euros, GBP 699.10 delivered to the UK at the beginning of July. Hands down the best tech bargain I've ever bought. Incredible monitor. Got an Omen 25L with an RTX2060 via the Display Port for gaming (Freesync is enabled via the monitor software menu so it seems to run at 75Hz no probs with the GeForce), MacBook Pro via the USB-C, and a Sky box via an HDMI for watching sport. Perfect!

LG just killing it. Love this one but just bought a LG4K with USBC, so will wait a bit to upgrade. I’m finding that a lot of software I use doesn’t scale to 4K properly (the text remains tiny tiny despite Windows scaling settings) so really wish I’d have gone for 2K ultra widescreen instead, as it’s impossible to get work done if you can’t read the text properly... you basically have to move your head back and fort a lot close to the monitor.

I currently have the older 38UC99. I was looking at this one as a potential upgrade, but the specs make it seem not worth it. They are nearly identical from what I can tell.

I do enjoy that it's basically two monitors because of the size, but a $1,500 price tag seems really hard to swallow if you aren't getting more than 60 Hz refresh rate with a 1080Ti. For $1,500 I want the monitor to create and upload videos for me.

I have an Nvidia graphics card but I preordered the Samsung 43’ super ultrawide, monitor with freesync...to my understanding freesync/g sync only come in use when you dip below 60 above 40 fps
@TheBassHeavy6 жыл бұрын
I'm torn between getting an ultrawide or a 4K monitor. I want to use it for productivity and having a monitor that can show multiple windows at the same time is very appealing. I don't play games so that isn't a consideration, however, I do watch a lot of KZbin, Netflix and catch-up sites like 4oD and iPlayer in my downtime. I'm worried while an ultrawide will be good for work, it'll not be good for the leisure stuff. (I don't want to watch iPlayer with black lines each side.) I'm using a 15inch late 2013 MBP, so 24inch will probably be fine for me (also, I have a limited budget anyway). Anyone have any suggestion? I would greatly appreciate any advice.
@Mushoka6 жыл бұрын
If you're looking for productivity I'd go with the ultrawide. You won't really see the full benefits of 4k unless you buy a really large 32''+ sized monitor. I tried an ultra wide at a friends and I can honestly say its great and more and more things are providing support for its aspect ratio. I still think 1440p ultrawides/normal monitors> 4k monitors.
@TheBassHeavy6 жыл бұрын
Hey, that's really helpful. Thanks!
@Mushoka6 жыл бұрын
No problem. Also the extra windows look better on ultra wide since they are legible. On 4k monitors, you do have the extra space but you'll have to manually zoom in just to read the screen properly. Scaling is awful in 4k for a lot of content

it's not too big, actually I hope to see more bigger ultrawide (I know there's the samsung chg 90 but it has a different ratio). The problem is the price, that for now is very high.

dumb question? but here it goes .... what happens if you connect this monitor to a 2012 mac mini through hdmi, which only supports 1920x1200? is it possible to change resolution setting of the display in the mac to fill the entire screen? obviously with a crappy result, but I'm curious if it's still possible.

Can you please advise on LG 34WK95C-W 34" vs LG 34UC98-W 34". I mostly want to use it for work - excel and etc. I know that WK95C has higher Hz and brightness and it's not that much expensive, but still not sure if I need that. In past tried high Hz monitors, which was to crispy and to bright for work, which I guess we're not calibrated to/on lower settings for a decent picture.

have a question related to purchasing a NEW curved ultra wide monitor. I would like a 38" monitor, and will be using it for coding, school, graphic design, video editing and watching movies. watching this on a 400$ VA 40inch MU6400 (MU7000 in usa) 4k screen with gorgeous colors and 15ms input lag i LOL'd when heard the price of that LG. I cannot even comprehend why would you spend 4 times more on a "pc monitor" that literally does the same thing. There is something terribly wrong with a monitor pricing recently compared to 4k TV offers.
@Vinddraken6 жыл бұрын
ivan petrov maybe because a PC monitor doesn't have 15ms refreshrate and is better to watch close. Btw your 4k has lower dps because it is supposed to be viewed from a distance.
@ivey774266 жыл бұрын
Dude your terminology is just off and so looks like your understanding of the topic in question. Plase do your homework before engaging. 1. 40 inch 4K is 110ppi wich is noticeably sharper than common 24 inch 1080p at 91ppi. TV is more than sharp enough. 2. 15ms input lag is excellent, you can play any kind of games without any delay. Obviously though, if you are highly competitive, you better off with a 144hz monitor, where every ms counts. But that is extreme example at wich LG spectacularly fails too
@MichaelGGarry6 жыл бұрын
This LG has a 5ms input lag, 3 times faster than your TV. Also refresh rate and input lag are not the same thing.......I'd rather have the monitor, thanks very much.

Why Am I watching this review after i bought this monitor. If you want to hear it from me: 1. The monitor experience is great 2. You'll need a semi beefy computer to utilise it to full potential 3. Haven't tried gaming, but it might be a struggle 4. Make sure you have a decent sized desk if you don't want to burn your eyes.

What depth is your desk and what would you recommend? I'm on a 63cm deep desk (+ maybe 5cm gap to the wall) and trying to work out if I can get away with this if mounting on a monitor arm? Would much rather the 38" over the 34" Ultrawide if it will work!
@harjotbhui5 жыл бұрын
Like get a comfortable reclining chair if you're intending to use it for movies and media, It definately a pleasing cinematic experience. For Gaming: - I think this monitor would be better suited for open world games rather than fps, because of the shear size of the monitor you'll definately struggle with reaction time, for example, games like csgo. On the other hand games like GTA V would be a dream like experience. If you're looking to game on this, just ensure that your pc is almost top of the line.

Why would you ever buy a 24:10 ultrawide monitor for playing on a console ? You know all PS4 games are 16:9 aspect ratio so you will either get black bars on the side or the image will be stretched to fill the screen if you select wide aspect ratio within the monitor's OSD settings.
