***** I could care less if it's smart or not, I want a TV to use it as a TV. I personally see no point in hooking my TV to the internet for any reason. I have a PC and an Xbox One for that. I know for most people it's a convenience thing, but for me this and other common household items should not have the ability to connect to the internet. Even if I did end up having the cash and was willing to shell out 5 g's for this display, it would never see an active network connection.
@under_score22689 жыл бұрын
Ryan Grobe Yeah smart TVs are unnecessary. That doesn't mean that someone that wants it should have to disconnect the internet to avoid ads. That's my point. Please don't reply with any more irrelevant arguments.
@highflier77629 жыл бұрын
+Ryan Grobe The problem is that even if you use it as a dumb tv, it will still collect information on you, at least from the microphone. And these things will hijack any unprotected wifi signal they come across. It really is disgusting. I hope that actual dumb-tv's are still made, though another solution would be to rip the guts out of any smart tv you purchase, though God knows what redundancies they have in their spying equipment.

@DaveGamesVT9 жыл бұрын
+mr17krm No need for Gsync, it was made obsolete when Freesync became an open standard. How long Nvidia plans on screwing over their customers by not supporting it, I couldn't guess.
@Capitalistic_Commie9 жыл бұрын
+DavidGX I agree Freesync is way more easier to implement and cheaper, But I've noticed a trend in Freesync monitors. If the monitor for example has a refresh rate of 144hz, Freesync will activate between 40hz to 90hz, which unfortunately because you'll see it going in and out of Freesync during the game. While G-sync has no top limit, for example the Asus PG279Q refresh range for g-sync is from 30hz to 144hz or 165hz depending on your settings! The argument should be, is it worth it? To most enthusiasts it is, me included. Now in a perfect world Nvidia should be supporting both, which they easily can If they stop being a little bitch about it.

+Tek Syndicate Please tell me you're going to start uploading 4k videos. Also, what type of lens/camera set up do you film with?
@joelstevens36099 жыл бұрын
First off i'd like to say I typically enjoy Tek Syndicate videos but this particular one leaves me frustrated. The review you provided while I understand sponsored is overwhelmingly positive and like Jayz2cents video tries to sway people into buying this T.V. without first running proper testing on it. Playing video games / movies is not testing it properly. You also failed to mention whether LG provided you with a retail set or a review sample? Huge difference as the review samples go through extra Quality Assurance measures vs the retails. I have now gone through 3 of these T.V.'s and like many other users the issues i've had with the last 3 eg9600's are as follows: vertical Banding, clouding, vignetting, yellow / pink staining, dead pixels, motion blur, and horrible Judder. One only has to look at AVSFORUMS to gauge how many people like myself have experienced these same issues and have gone through many returns before settling on a panel that we're happy with. Many of the LG OLED's have had similar issues and in fact the the model # EF9500 even went through a recall due to these very issues. If you'd like to determine whether your panel has the aforementioned issues pleasure run slides (solid colors) of white, black, purple, gray, etc... This simple test will reveal whether or not your T.V. suffers from poor uniformity. Judder and motion blur will need to be tested for while playing video. When paying 3k+ for a T.V. you expect issues like this to be non-existent but yet here we are. In the future i'd like to see Tek Syndicate due more of a comprehensive review on things such as this. No offenes to Logan but i've seen Wendell's reviews on monitors and love how detailed he is when it comes to researching, reviewing, and testing them. I think he'd be the perfect person to review things like this in the future.

How's the color accuracy? I've never seen an OLED display without horrible color accuracy, usually shifted towards blue. Compared to the laptop/Korean display it looks pretty bad but that may have something to do with the way the video was recorded.
@jacoberiksson52059 жыл бұрын
An OLED display is emissive(Like CRT), rather than transmissive(Like IPS). Basically, every pixel is composed of three OLEDs that emit light in red, green and blue, respectively. Now, I don't know about current panels, but in older ones, the blue OLEDs degraded noticeably faster, and to make sure it isn't too far from being accurate, the blue OLEDs have a larger emissive area, making it brighter, while also extending its lifespan a little. If that problem has been fixed in newer displays, they should have great colour accuracy.
