Lg dishwasher freaking out (defective control board)

For those of you with a similar situation, the issue was a defective control board.
The repair guy initially thought it was a grounding issue... me not insisting that he swap the control board made it so that we had to deal with this for 3 more weeks (that's how long it took them to get one in stock).
We were able to get it to complete a cycle in the meantime by turning off the power to the dishwasher for 1 minute, turning it back on, and running a Turbo cycle without drying.

The issue is simple. Major appliances are designed to encounter failures and require many repairs through out the 5 years they're expected to last before having to be replaced with a brand new one as part of the Planned Obsolescence scam from the manufacturers.

I just fixed the same problem. I did everything LG told me to do but nothing worked. Then I pressed the cancel button (start/cancel) for 3 seconds and everything is back to normal 😬

Did you end up getting a new dishwasher? I have the same model. 8 months in I had this same issue. Since it was under warranty, LG replaced the motherboard. It resolved the issue. (I guess moisture was getting in the motherboard). Now, 8 months later, we are having the same issue again….

Brother, I wish I had good news to give you. The whole thing ended when I talked to Trina (who claimed that she was personal assistant to the *president of LG* by the way-- but couldn't tell me the presidents name) who told me that they weren't going to repair the dishwasher anymore. They literally replaced every single replaceable component twice before they finally refused to fix it or replace it. I ended up having to buy a new one out of my own pocket. Hope you have better luck.

Mine does the same thing. It will run a cycle in Turbo Mode, however it beeps and chimes like f"ing crazy!

I have this issue every year. I will call them, they will come change the panel which cost 150 $ with 6 month guarantee and exactly after one year again the panel will have the same issue. I change it now 3 time and today had the same issue.

Like any computer, you need to shut it down once in a while, to reset it!

I am a service technician and this is a very common issue with LG dishwashers I would stay away from them if I were you an invest in a Bosch. The only way you can fix this issue and it's not permanent is by replacing the control board and UI

Not yet. It's under warranty, so LG is sending out a repair guy next week. I suspect the control board is defective; I'm sure it's not supposed to do that until the warranty is up. Whoops. Would you like me to post what I find out?

Yeah, it took LG's contracted repair company a full 28 days, but they fixed it. It turned out to be the control board.

Mine does the same thing. Started two days after the warranty expired. It’s less expensive to get a new dishwasher than to replace the control board. This is planned obsolescence at its finest.

Quick update; the problem continued for over a year. LG replaced every single replaceable component... Twice. And then, when it continued to do the same thing, I finally asked for a replacement. They refused to replace it. I asked when they were going to send someone out to try to fix it again, and they said they were done trying to repair it. And that was that. No recourse was possible for me. I ended up buying a whirlpool and putting the LG on the curb.

Good luck; mine never got fixed. LG refused to replace or repair it after I spent about a year and a half trying to get them to fix it. Details in another comment on this video.

After spending 150 for someone to come out, it was the control panel. New part covered by not another service call. I have yet to pull the trigger on this Would it be more cost effective just to buy a more reliable brand? I’m thinking so.
