I love your jingle at the end! 😆 I am so thankful for your review (it’s 2022 and I’m trying to buy a dryer in Costa Rica) let me tell you, you may all think it’s hard in the states to make a decision for a purchase, well multiply that by 10 and add some frustration. Thanks to your video I’m going with a very similar version of this dryer, except it does have the steam function. Thanks again 🤗

Great review - it really is so helpful to see someone actually using the dryer vs just wading through the instructions (especially as things get more complicated and for some reason instructions seem to get less detailed). Thanks for the tip about the energy saver cycle. I have a new less fancy (but still very complicated!) model and I will avoid that cycle. I'm off to watch your reversing the dryer door video... I have a left dryer and right washer too and I never got around to reversing the door in 10 years, but maybe with this new set it's time to finally do it! :)

So glad the review was helpful! I recommend trying the energy saver on your new machine just in case LG has improved the technology in your model. And definitely reverse the door to make things easier! It took us getting the LG for me to finally do it, so I get it. 😃 Thanks for leaving a comment! Cheers!

Thank you for the washer review. I have the electric dryer to go with the LG washer. The dryer does cut drying time by somehow sensing when the clothes are dry. It does save time/energy.

Real nice job on the review/video BalanR. And great job on the replies to the not-so-friendly comments. We will be purchasing a gas model very soon and, based on affordability and dependability, have whittled it down to this LG or a comparable Samsung (which can be had for about $30 less. Wondering if (and why) you researched and ruled out Samsung. No need for a long reply just yay or nay--I trust your judgment. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words Bob! I haven't investigated Samsung dryers, but I initially chose the LG because I liked the features (drying options, size, as well as front panel controls, which worked well in the space). A good friend that I trust also has an LG and recommended it. After that, I read A LOT of reviews (at least 100). I decided to do this video review because the majority of written reviews I found were "sponsored by LG," which I take with a grain of salt. Hope that helps!

Question: Hi thanks for this great video. I have a gas concern. I turn on the dryer for 30 minutes .. the burner stays for 10, then it goes out for 3 minutes and then repeats the same process (turns the burner on and off) successively. Is this normal?
@BruceAlanR4 жыл бұрын
My dryer does exactly what you’ve described so I believe it’s normal. My guess is the burner turns on and off during the cycle depending on the cycle and temperature selected. I just ran a normal sensor dry to confirm. After a minute of sensing, the burner turned on for 10 minutes, then turned off for 2-3 minutes and repeated the process.

Glad it was helpful. We don’t have the washer although once our 90’s Maytag stops working, I may invest in it. I’ve explored the washer and my only concern is the height. How do i know if mine Is gas or Electric? Also if its electric does it work the same way as this one? Mine looks exactly like yours
@BruceAlanR2 жыл бұрын
As far as functionality and the control panel, they’re the same. To figure out whether you have the gas or electric model, there are a few ways to figure it out. For example, look at the sticker on the inside of the door. If the model number starts with DLG it is gas. If it starts with DLE it’s electric. If you can’t find the sticker, look at the plug. The electric model has a larger, 40V plug versus a standard 3 pronged 120V plug. You could also look at the circuit breaker since the electric model would likely have two 15 or 20 Amp breakers tied together where the gas model only requires a single 15 or 20 Amp circuit. Lastly, if you can see behind the dryer, you’ll see a gas supply line if it’s the gas model.

@BruceAlanR4 жыл бұрын
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Unfortunately, I don’t have any tips if it’s not heating. When it comes to gas appliances, I call a licensed plumber or repair person. My guess is it’s the thermocouple. Have you tried the smartdiagnose feature? I have to remember how that works.

Mine stopped starting was humid inside but can’t figure out the start not working
@BruceAlanR Жыл бұрын
The heat doesn’t start immediately but if you don’t get any heat after 5 minutes or so once you hear the burner kick in, there’s likely an issue. Could be a number of things, but most folks won’t be able to service the dryer given it is a gas appliance. Unfortunately I use iOS so I can’t use the LG Tag On smart diagnosis feature, but if you have an Android phone you can try that. Download the ThinQ app, turn on the NFC function of your android phone (in the app select Share & Connect under “wireless networks,” set NFC and Direct/Android Beam to ON, and select NFC, check the Use Read and Write/P2P Receive option). With the dryer on go into the app, select Tag On, select Tag On Diagnosis, touch the Tag On logo, and then position your phone over the Tag On icon on the dryer. That should give you a diagnosis if something is wrong. Good luck!

Had this for 3 years, I think. Maybe 4. ALWAYS used timed dry. Waste of money all the options. Clothes dry. Yes it is a dryer. 2 kids, 3 grandkids and us. This in in use 5 hours a day on average, some times it only stops when we are asleep. No problems til now. As of 7-2-2020 no heat. Fixing to tear into it. But it has held up pretty well. Always full load. Just time dry. 60 minutes for full load of towels. Not worth the cost. Sometimes the kids stuff the thing so full you have to take some out to finish.

Thanks for sharing your experience and I'm sorry your dryer isn't working. I sure hope ours lasts more than 4 years, but there are only three of us if I don't include the two cats. One thing that's impossible to review is longevity, so I appreciate that you've shared your experience. I don't use most of the options. I usually just put the clothes in and use the normal sensor dry these days. I use timed dry for thick towels and bath mats. Just curious, do you have the gas or electrical version of this dryer?

Yeah, the energy saver on most dryers is a gimmick. You think it would save energy, but doesn’t save much energy if any at all and certainly doesn’t save time since it takes a few hours to dry a load of laundry with the energy saver on. If dryers really had a energy saver, you have the ability to choose the wattage of the heating element or btu heat output on a gas dryer. Have a Whirlpool dryer from 1963 with a “energy saver” which steps down the wattage from 5600 watts to 4500 watts on the normal drying setting which also doubles as a more gentle drying temp as well.

Thanks for sharing that! We were considering the matching washer, but by the time our 20 year old Maytag bit the dust, the matching washer had been discontinued with most retailers. I'm sure glad we didn't get it because most of the reviews I read were horrible. If you want a machine with an agitator, I've heard really good things about the Speed Queen TC5000wn (TC5). I considered that one, but it was too expensive for me and the machine didn't have the capacity of models without an agitator.Reviews were good and it looked straightforward to operate.
