Thank you! I didn't needed to disassembley montor with a risk to damage it. But I also didn't replased power supply. I've replased a capacitor in it: 680x25.

You the man! I've suffered from hissing for weeks and was about to disassemble my LS IPS277 display to see what's wrong. but fixed by replacing power supply from old broken ASUS laptop (19V 2.3A). no more noise and display starts well. thank you!

My monitor also had a similar problem, monitor image flashes once on startup, then stays black and has a very soft hissing sound. Model: LG 23EA53. My monitor also only has a power adapter like yours. Replace with a new power adapter does the trick. You save me 100 bucks without a need to replace my LG monitor! Thank you! God bless u!

I've got the same problem and I just replaced the bloated 680uf 25v cap on power supply but it's quite a pain in the a** to pry open the power supply itself.

I fixed it in a different way. I didn't had a second 19 V DC power supply at hand. I cut the cable of the original power supply and put in a 35 V 47 µF capacitor in parallel. That stabilizes the voltage from the switching power supply (ripple voltage). The screen turned on immediatly without any noise. I measured the voltage across the capacitor and it was only 12 V DC. That means the original power supply is not capable of providing enough current to sustain the 19 V . Still it works, and if i get hold on another 19 V power supply then i will use it instead. And the capacitor values are not so critical. The voltage rating has to be above 19 V and the capacitance shouldn't be much lower than 47 µF or above 1000 µF. If the capacitance is to high, it might be a problem when plugging the power supply in. Oh and always check polaritiy! Good luck!

Thanks, i soldered it (35V and 47uF as you said) in the monitor near of the power connector (assuring the + and -) and the space to mount it again. It continues hissing but a lot lower, about 90% less noise and for me its ok! Thank you so much!

My LG Flatron IPS236 flashes like crazy when I boot up and when I reboot. It does so for a long period of time before it finally ceases. Could this be my issue?

Hello, I’ve got a similar problem. However my monitor does not show any output after I plug it into a pc. Should I try to replace power supply, too?

I had a same problem with my IPS277L and fixed it in a same way - by replacing faulty power supply. It is hard to find exact replacement so just get yourself a universal one that has adjustable voltage output and a set of different connector pins.
@soren73016 жыл бұрын
Hi, do you have the name for the connector pin that fits your screen? :)
@tomaskevalas92346 жыл бұрын
It is labeled 6.5 x 1.4.
@soren73016 жыл бұрын
I think the measurements that fits mine is 6.5x 4.4 mm with a pin inside. You don't have the model name like a M7 19V or something like that?
@tomaskevalas92346 жыл бұрын
imgur.com/a/dUm9V this is how it looks. Sorry I don't have any other name.
@soren73016 жыл бұрын
Yeah okay, maybe it's the pin's measurement, it looks exactly like mine. it's just because as far as I've found there's no universal power supply available that supplies exactly that tip here, but thanks anyway :)

Hello...I have basically the same monitor (IPS LG277l) using the same 19 volt external power supply (tested the output with a multi meter and get 19 volts reading) As of last night, I began to have an on/off loop issue. Unlike the monitor in your video...there is no noise. If I turn on the monitor apart my tower there is no on/off loop. Only a request to connect to the video card. I don't have another power supply to test as you did. Any thoughts?..thanks Alan

Hi guys please help, I have the same problem, I dont know if I buy a new powersupply or something else? Shall I buy the same powersupply as the old one or shall I buy another type of powersupply?
@Firinge4 жыл бұрын
Best option is to replace with an old laptop adapter. Almost all of them are 19 V and they manage too much power than a cheap Alibaba adapter.
