Thank you so much! All the research I did before pointed at needing a new washing machine and I was ready to spend over $1,000. Weeks washing clothes daily for our kids, so there’s no option to not have a washing machine. Found your video and immediately bought the kit from you on Amazon. All the instructions were super clear and I had no issues doing it myself. Took me less than 20 min to do the work and now I feel I have a brand new machine. You saved me over 1,000 bucks. My wife was convinced we needed a new washer. After watching your video I thought "what the heck? $50 in parts from Amazon (which I could return if I had to) is worth a roll of the dice!" Sure enough, swapped the wiring harness and sensor, put everything back together, and BAM!, the thing works like new!! Thanks for saving me $950!!

Before trying all this…you may want to just unplug the unit for a few minutes (I walked away for 5 minutes) as you are plugging in, press the “Play/Pause” looking button for 5 seconds. Doing those two things reset my washer, without having to get behind the unit or take anything apart. Same worked for my dryer two months ago too!! 🙌🏼
@conspiracorn1437 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, when you perform a reset after an LE code in some cases its due to just simply over working/stuffing the machine. Break up your loads if you pack it heavy.

Part numbers that worked for me: Wiring harness: 6877ER1016H Hall sensor: 6501KW2002A You probably want to remove yours first to make sure it is the same. I splurged for the genuine LG parts, about $28 each on Amazon. Washer works great now!! Thank you very much for the video!

I didn’t think this was going to work! Everytime I buy a little part and watch a KZbin video to fix an appliance it never works. But this guy absolutely nailed it. Our local LG repairman said it was going to be $600+ bc the LE error code is a really bad one. And that he’d have to order the parts from Korea blah blah blah. I told my wife, looks like we’re getting a new washer. But then I said let’s look just a little closer at the LE error code to see (on the off chance) if it’s something I can fix. Well… this video just saved us $500 and the hassle of hooking up a new washer! Ordered the part on Amazon, next day shipping, for $9, and it took 30 minutes to do all the work. Thank you!!!
@jacekmadej3424 күн бұрын
I hate scammer “repairman”. It’s just like the guy who had installed water filtration system in the house I bought for the previous owners. I called him and asked what kind of salt goes into the tanks, he told me “oh you can’t buy that, I have to drive down to the quarry in Gettysburg to get it, it’s only open for contractors, and nothing else will work” 😂 i said, “Right, definitely the case”
@rickobrien78633 жыл бұрын
The LE error code came up a week ago. I went down to Home Depot and purchased another washing machine for $1,001. The Home Depot rep suggested I look around KZbin for a possible fix as delivery wasn't for another 3 weeks. I found your video. Problem fixed for $12, and I canceled the order for a new machine yesterday. I feel like I got a $1,000 Xmas gift. Thank you so much for taking the time to film this and put it out to the public. Instructions are clear, easy to follow and detailed so you know what to order and the tools you need before getting started.

I didnt even think to check Amazon before buying the Hall (Rotor Position) Senor from my local appliance parts which ran about $45. I wanted a Genuine LG OEM part and all the ones i found on Amazon were off-brand. Genuine from online parts stores were $28ish but would have taken days to ship. Either way just like you, had a bad sensor which swapping out fixed the issue. Getting that main bearing nut off was a real pain.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! We were able to find the parts for $60, by using your video, replace the parts ourselves, and the washer is back up and running!! We are so proud of ourselves. A repair person would have been $150 just to get them to look at it and give us an estimate. I'm assuming it would have been over $300 for them to do the work. However, when I first ordered the harness through Sears parts direct, they sent me only a piece of the harness and not the complete harness. I was unable to return the partial harness, however the process was definitely worth doing ourselves, even with this mistake. Keep sharing your knowledge. You are really helping people and hopefully keeping appliances out of the landfill. 😊

This is not Pieter; it's his wife, Natascha. Yes, I fixed it!!! Thank you, thank you, for an excellent video with clear instructions. The hardest part was cleaning the filthy floor under/behind the washer before getting started :) Don't know if it was the Hall sensor or the wiring harness, but I replaced both, for $47.68. I would add that six years ago, our then 7-year old washer had an LE error, and LG insisted the whole motor needed replacing, for well over $300. And yes, we paid them... Now it happened again. LG wanted $402.50 to fix it this time!!! The schmucks! Take that, LG service, I'm never calling you crooks again. One thing that caused me a bit of trouble, was removing the central 17mm bolt. Jerking with the socket wrench didn't loosen it. So I used a pair of garden clippers, the edge of the curved blade fit nicely into the slots in the motor, and let me brace it with one hand, while using the wrench with the other. Again, many thanks for the video!

Thank you! I ordered a new Hall sensor because it was only $30. The plates on the stator had some rust, especially on the bottom, so I brushed them off with a wire brush, gave them a spray of WD 40, wiped down the Rotor magnets, gave them a spray. Whole job took an hour, but add another hour to go buy new hoses. The cold water was leaking right at the machine. I suspect that some of the drips got into the rotor/stator causing the rust. Not sure if the rust was the problem or the hall sensor. Works great. Really appreciate the instructions. Now let's see if I can send you a few bucks for being so helpful.

Thank you so much, a perfectly edited video, and your fix for the problem I experienced worked great. Some minor issues - the sensor I ordered, part 6501KW2002A, was not the one in my LG WM2032HW, which had part number 6501KW2002B. The B sensor had only one clip on the side opposite of the connector instead of two, and only two of the pin holes on the B sensor were U-shaped, whereas the A sensor had 3 U-shaped pin holes. The harness I ordered, 6877ER1016B (which was the cheapest one on Amazon) was an exact match to what was in the washer, so I took another chance and gave the new harness connector a shove (square peg in a U-shaped hole) and made it work. So I recommend to folks that they remove the harness and sensor FIRST to get the actual part numbers before ordering new parts. If I ordered wire harness 6877ER1016M as recommended, it may not have worked at all, or may have worked perfectly. Who knows. YMMV. I'm just thankful that guys like you make videos like this for DIYers like me.

Well, the error came back today after my wife tried to run a load of sheets. I'm really second-guessing the hall sensor situation. I ran a rinse and spin cycle, and the error came back after a few minutes. So I drained the water out, saw a lot of black suit at first (better than the last time when the drain hose was completely plugged with sand and took forever to get cleared out) , closed the water spigots during the rinse cycle as I was draining it, and right before the rinse cycle ended I turned the cold water spigot back on it and got through the cycle successfully. By the end, nothing but clean water was draining out. So now I'm washing ONE sheet instead of the whole load, and we're going to be cautious about overloading our 20 year old washing machine with a suspect hall sensor. Glad I didn't throw away the OEM part, it may save me if it happens again (50/50 chance I guess). I really don't know what I'd end up with if I tried to byuy another hall sensor, even from your store. Maybe I can send you photos so we can compare (if it goes LE again)...

Best appliance repair video by leaps and bounds! thanks so much. Coincidentally I started getting the LE error code a few weeks after needing to replace my cold water intake valve. Betcha a quarter it's the same issue as with the machine in this video. 5 stars!

You’re the bomb brother! This fixed our washer. Wish I had seen where I could buy the kit from you below the video before I scoured the internet and waited a week for parts. Thanks for the help!

Thank you. It worked! I put red loctite and used an impact wrench to tighten the final bolt. Good luck to the next person!

Dude! You Rock!! Thank you very much for this great video. I bought a new wiring harness and Hall sensor. About 30 bucks for both parts. Less than an hour later we're back in business.

My LG wm2233cu threw an LE code and the drum wouldn't spin. Followed these instructions to a T to replace the sensor, made the job so much easier!

Tried a bunch of stuff before I switched out my hall sensor. Washer working fine immediately thereafter! THanks again. $10 part from amazon.

Couldn't find the wire harness so I went with just the hall sensor. I did a visual inspection of the harness and didn't see any issues. Doing my test run now. Great video! Thanks!

Decent tutorial, thanks. However, you skipped an easy first step which could also cause an LE error. That is integrity of the spin bearing + rotation. This can easily be checked by turning the inner basket by hand to check for grinding, or possibly a trapped garment between the 2 drums. Also, grabbing the inner backet outer rim @ 12 & 6 then @ 9 & 3 o'clock positions, and rocking back and forth to check for play. Lastly, as I recall..you didn't bother to mention to check the rotor for cracked magnets + the spines, if they're worn out this is also a problem. Cheers!

My LG had the same problem - Broken Wire! In that lower motor harness. The red wire going to the Hall Sensor. Used a multimeter and checked for continuity in the harness and sure enough snapped the red one right at the zip tie holding it to the body of the machine before it goes to the tub. Thanks for the video! It seemed everyone else online jumps to replace the Hall sensor (so did I).

Thank you for the helpful video! Direct and to the point, no BS. The magnetized rotor was on it really good on mine, I had to use quite a bit of power and twisting and turning motion to finally break it free. Otherwise, everything else was smooth sailing. I also brought the 2 parts separately ($75) rather than as a package ($100), it saves some money, which I gave back to the content creators. It also allow me to return the part I didn't need. If you are a pro, I see the benefits of having spares, but for DIYer like me, I will most likely misplace it over time or forgot I even had this and end up buying another one anyways!
