So far your video has been the only way I have been able to tell for sure where the Thermistor is located on my SamScum…uhhhhh, Samsung washer. 😊 I haven’t started the journey beneath it yet but you’ve given me enough information to know I don’t have to pull it out of the small laundry room. I also didn’t realize I could use FilMic Pro the way you did so I would have been using my small Apple Watch screen for the monitor. I will let you know how my repair process goes. Thanks again

My washer is 12 years old, I just cut an 8 x x10 door hole in the front bottom of the washer to access this heater thermocouple part( So I didn't have to deal with the washer boot). Pull on all of those wires, one at a time, they move and vibrate with the washer drum, and more than one may be broken. None of my wires were broken, just a bad thermocouple/heater unit. Go to McCombs supply to buy the part.

Helpful video. White wire going to the thermistor connector was broken. Seems like a design oversight - may need strain relief to prevent breakage.

Were you able to fix it? Our blue wire is broken off right at the white plastic connector so we can't get the wire back into the white connector.

I think you gave a great idea to access from bottom. Wtf are other appliance guides skipping this simple access solution for some repairs? PS: I would have pulled full out and gone 45 degrees

I'm confused about access from the bottom. My washer does NOT have a dryer on top of it (yay) and it's actually in my carport on a riser that's 3 to 4 inches off the ground so theoretically I could putt the washer out a few inches without it tipping over but I'm unclear whether something has to be removed from the bottom of the washer or how far back the thermistor is located. I would probably call a handyman to do this, but if it takes less time to get to the thermistor compared to disassembly that would be huge.

Hey Shay, sorry about the tardy reply. It’s been a while but I don’t believe there’s any kind of cover on the bottom that I had to remove and if I remember right the thermistor was maybe about halfway back or a little less. But perhaps you’ve solved your problem long ago. Certainly hope so!
