I personally think the entire tech community is biased against LG. They have no problem, or at least never complaint about the name "Samsung Galaxy S7 edge" for being a mouthful but every single one of them finds "LG G7 thinq" to be too long. MKBHD hasn't even bother getting a full review of lg's flagship for years now, no G6, no V30 and I think this G7 thinq will find the same fate. I don't know what's the matter with the techies barring a few.

Aashish Bhargava. I get what you're saying I I've always liked of these software since the LG V10. But the reason I didn't get LG phone until today was that the power button on the LG V10 was on the back. Where the fingerprint sensor is now. And it broke a lot I mean like every two weeks I had it replaced twice and then I gave up and went back to Samsung. That being said the LG G7 now has the power button on the side which is the only right place to put it so far it's been pretty good I still have my note 9 but I like the LG screen resolution is a little bit higher on the LG and it's pretty crisp for the LCD panel I'm more of an OLED person myself but it's good LG makes good displays. Also on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge front. Most people just called it the S7 Edge which is a lot shorter. I know this, is a year-old but I just seen the comment and wanted to reply. I could live with the notch because you can hide it but the battery size was the greatest concern for me in this review. Everything was looking quite good until he mentioned a 3000 maH battery in a six inch phone. That's way too small for such a large phone.

I had an LG g4, and it was hell to deal with. It wouldn't charge correctly, and it broke within only 2-3 years of owning it. So if you get a brand new LG i recommend to get the newer versions.

I think I still like the V30 a bit more than this and LG didn't take the chance to get in on 4k60fps or 240fps1080p while decreasing the field of view on the wide angle camera. And the battery life on the V30 is still better than most of the top selling flagships. LG almost had it but always find a way to hold themselves back. I'm loving my V20 and now waiting for the Pixel 3. But bravo for them finally getting the front camera right.

The RaRa85 I have a pixel and the lack luster of features to the phones multiple replacements from screen burn in and charging ports to the software just continue to crash they use htc phones and I’m done with there phones not at all satisfied the issue with my new pixel is the actual microphone everyone can’t hear me and now it won’t fast charge again. I pre ordered the lg phone good luck with the pixel 3 they may have a great camera but not worth the hassle.

@@rxxnybngtn8946 sorry just seeing this now. it's an excellent phone. I get 7 hours of on-screen time and nearly 9 hours overall battery usage with 16% left. LG UI themes can even change the white background on system settings. Call quality is crisp. Selfie camera is very good. Main camera can now record 4K 60FPS. HI-FI Quad DAC makes even cheap headphones sound phenomenal. Bringing the G7 to the shower never gets damaged. The phone runs buttery smooth on daily usage. I got nothing but good things about the LG G7 ThinQ.

Do you have high impedance headphones to use it? Because otherwise you won't hear ANY difference. What you will notice is a battery drain because powerful DAC needs, well - a lot of power.

i actually prefer the mlcd+ display over amoled. no burn-in, super bright, inky blacks... no lg fan but i honestly think it's better than the samsung s9. I personally like the notch, but you can switch if off if u don't. The fisheye secondary camera is big for me. has good build quality. has top of the line specs. no samsung crap os, even ios is better than samsung crap os. google assistant>bixby. High resolution display. sd card slot. A really good headphone jack. Loud speakers...

I'm currently on the V30 and love it. I know there's far better to have but the phone just spoke to me. And with that being said, I think until a V40 comes around, I'll be sticking with it. The G7 drops every ball that made LG unique to me. Now it's all just "we want to hear what Samsung and iPhone consumers want, so we can do it, and you switch" It's terrible logic. I've been brand loyal since the Optimus G. I've upgraded to every flagship since. Now it feels like I should be taking a step away from them and go a new route

Hi im Ish You obviously have never owned an LG phone then. I frequently leave my IPS always on display on overnight, unplugged, and come back to it with it having lost 4% in 8 hours. Turn the AOD off, and I lose 3-4% overnight. "immense amounts of battery drain"? Stop making assumptions kid. Plus, it's still bright enough to see in broad daylight. I've decided LG isn't for me but their AODs are straight magic.

Have you seen the V30's screen? The way you mention that it doesn't have an OLED panel like the V30, makes it sound like that is a bad thing when it clearly isn't. The V30's OLED screen was pure shit that was not uniform in brightness, colors, and looked grainy! Just because Samsung can make an amazing OLED, doesn't mean LG can.

Then you are blind! I have had a total of 7 LG V30's and none of them have had anything close to a perfect screen.

I do have an S9 Plus when V30 number 6 died. I went through the first 5 (one after another) in returns because the screen uniformity was so bad, I was not keeping them. The sixth lasted two months before it completely died! It wouldn't power on at all. LG replaced it but the screen on it isn't as good as the one that died. The uniformity wasn't visible until you put the phone brightness down to 8%, which was about as good as it gets from what I have seen. The one I have now, you can see that half of the screen is darker than the rest clearly up to about 45% brightness. LG does not consider this an issue though and won't replace it. If LG sticks to the mLCD screen for the V40 and it doesn't have a notch, I will more than likely buy one as soon as they go on sale. I really like the LG V30 a lot! Enough to go through that many and still have one I use daily. The quad-DAC is by far, the best audio on a phone, period! Yes, even better than my S9 Plus with Dolby Atmos enabled through my Sennheiser HD598C's. LG's Wide angle camera is also a much more welcome option compared to the zoom lens on most phones. That is more personal preference though from someone who travels quite a lot and takes some scenic pictures with my phone where ever I go.

Bro nobody breaks 5 phones in a year and a half lol you Samsung sheep are just as bad as the isheep I've literrly had this exact convo with an isheep back in the day when I got my galaxy s3 I've had my v30 for a year now so has my sister neither of us have had any problems I switched from a galaxy s7 to tye v30 because when I compared the v30 to the s8 it was the better phone and is better then thr s9 Samsung is going down thr apple route soon it will have its own os and soon you samsheep will be buying phones for 1000 bucks that get destroyed by its 700$ competition.

adir mugrabi oh no dude the G5 was a disaster, the g3 was the laggiest und buggiest phone of it's time and the g4 was a complete fail with it's bootloop problems lmao LG has bad luck with it's G line but the G7 is not bad come on, the notch is everywhere at least it has a jack and one of the best if not the best LCD screen on the market

The screen is not 1140x3120! That would make it have a ratio of taller than 24:9! The correct width is 1440p.

Just got my LG G7 but not this But G7+ ThinQ which is 6GB Ram and 128GB Sound Quality is Amazing and that's the only reason I bought this phone.

I think LG went with LCD over amoled for two reasons. 1. It would cost much more to do amoled. 2. The last couple amoled screens LG has put out haven't been that great. Instead the LCD panel on this one is probably the best "top of the line" LCD you get right now and looks like it's about 98% as good as Samsung's amoled panels. As long as it works all the time and is of very high quality and bright/vibrant, I couldn't care less what panel is used! That's my 2 cents and now I'm broke & awesome!

Thanks for the information! I have been confused between G7 and V30 plus as they will cost almost same during the sale. I was leaninig toward V30 for its OLED screen.
