You can turn this into a 10 minute easy job if you just disconnect the water supply hoses and drain hose and turn the washer on its side. All the work can be done from the bottom without any disassembling.

There are usually several ways to do the same job. Not all customers are comfortable tipping the washer on its side. Sometimes other parts can get damaged. Glad to hear it worked out for you.

But don't you need to reinstall the shipping bolts? If not I think you're in a world of hurt.

I have a unit like this, but this isn't the problem I face. My problem is that the soap tray leaks out the front. I've checked the outgoing hose from the housing that leads to the tub, and it's not obstructed. Until I find the problem, when I fill the soap dispenser, I close it with a papertowel around the soap dispenser. It sometimes gets soaked, but that's all the water that comes out. I wonder if the water inlet to the soap dispenser is clogged up, causing it to spray out wildly.

A bad bellow boot (too soft)will also trigger a OE code, when the pump turns on it will collapse the hose and stop the water from draining it also can be replace by accessing the rear door.

I didn’t feel comfortable taking it all apart like that, not with my luck doing repairs. My drain bellows had a small pin leak in the corrugated part. Don’t know how that happened as it is on the underside and nothing touches it. I ordered it online from encompass.com. 17.00 +2.97 2 yr. warranty and $9.00 shipping. WELl, I tipped on its side with no problem. Took off the bellows and put on the new. Had a hard time with the connection in the front. Tried it out and it leaked in the front. Tipped it the other way and got to it easier and tightened it. NO LEAKS. EXCEPT the drain hose going out to the utility tube, that long gray one, was leaking Because it was rubbing against the part that holds the drum, looks like a hydraulic pump. Design flaw that I’m going let LG know. Found a local parts store for another $26.00. Encompass has it but my wife wants this done within 2 days. If you have an LG washer, take off the gray panel on the back and check out that hose. I’m going to put in a screw hook through the side and hang that drain hose.

What if you have a dryer stacked on top...can you do all this from the back? Saw other videos claiming you can. Somewhat savvy, but not a whole lot of time to spend on this. Is it worth the extra steps to get to that front connecting section of the bellow? Just want to gauge your opinion on difficulty. Model LG WM227HW

i just did this repair.... I have a small laundry room and its on a pedestal so I did the repair at first from the back. I purchased the part for $13 but had to drive 45 minutes each way to get it (Sears parts). From the back seemed easy enough, I took off back the two screws holding the broken piece. Took out old and put clamps on new then hooked it up. I was in limited space so even though "thought" I had everything connected ...all I had was a flood on testing. So I took off the whole front to get better access and discover my gaping hole in front where clamp was off. This time it went smoother since I had more room from the front and I got it all hooked up...the worst part was thing to get the front door seal gasket back on...spent hours on it. I refused to not fix it in one day... the tool that helps is a "inside plier" only $35-89 forget it. Finally took one more stab at it with a small flat head and patience.... it slipped on after several minutes of careful use of the screwdriver. Put it all back together and only has two screws left over. It works..cost $13 plus gas and several hours. In hindsight I think I would do the from bottom technique..I think it may be way easier. But now that I did it pretty sure I could do it the way I did it much faster... and perhaps find where those screws go. At least I was able to fully clean it and re-hook up dryer vent. The part that leaks is the one they show... On mine it was at the seam. Not surprised watching the wash cycle from back that tub sure moves all around in there and over time the seam is the weak point. Hope the new part lasts. Also wear gloves I had many cuts afterwards. You don't have to do all of this! This is a joke!! you can access it and do it from the bottom in 3min by removing both clamps and the 1 screw!! What's this all about??

If the washer you are working on has a bottom panel that will work. The machine used in the video did not so we had to go in through the front and rear of the machine. Thank you for commenting.
