FYI from my experience with filters, the ones inside that are a daily change filter looks pretty much like the kind of reusable N95/N99 filters used in standard masks. You can wash those with standard soap, doesn't have to be thrown out until the material itself wears out from washing. The only thing is th HEPA ones but they look like just a cutout from a large standard material piece. You can probably buy a big piece of Hepa for use in another device and cut out the filters from it monthly for EXACTLY the same effect.
@ShawnKoh3 жыл бұрын
I'm not too sure about the washing part, but as for the HEPA, it might be abit difficult to buy a big piece and use small bits of it. From what I understand, the HEPA filters came in a sealed bag, as with many other filters, it has a life span once exposed to the air. So buying a big piece might not work out as smoothly as you might hope. Just my 2cents :)
@Gussani3 жыл бұрын
You can wash it but any kind of soap or disinfectant will alter it's filtering capabilities. I've read some scientific papers of tests being done with different disinfection methods and they all damage it.

Next, I don’t know that most people notice the mask. I’ve had a hand full of people ask. But for the most part no one says anything. I’ve been reading Q4 for the app. I wish they would speed it up. @ShawnKoh3 жыл бұрын
As mentioned at the start of the video and also in the description, this is not a mask.
@jameswright36243 жыл бұрын
There is no exhalation valve of that sort, and it is easy to show to anyone who will listen - there is no airway path that doesn’t pass through the fabric inner cover just like any other mask. Even if the HEPA filters do not filter the exhaled air, all exhaled air is clearly passing through the fabric inner cover, in other words it must pass through a layer of fabric the same as any other mask without a valve, and in fact better because most masks don’t have the seal around the face that this does. Anyone who suggests that this has an exhalation valve allowing airflow that has not passed through a layer of fabric first can be easily shown to be mistaken - there is no hole for air to pass through that doesn’t flow through the inner cover. It is not at all like masks that have a valve which deliberately vents air that has not passed through fabric first.

@@jameswright3624 The point is, I've been doing some research and a fair amount of poking around and LG doesn't offer any sort of certification for this device, for all intents and purposes, it's about as useful as a cloth mask (not very much). I wonder what's the rationale behind designing such a device amidst a global pandemic and then not getting it certified against airborne virus aerosols. These are tests that are routinely done on N95 masks and PAPR's, there's no reason not to run them unless you know full well that your product won't pass. Make of it what you will.
@RetrievingSearain2 жыл бұрын
@@ShawnKoh then what is it? A Cyberpunk cosmetic prop? Surely, if you release such a device right in the middle of a global pandemic, people will be led to think it's a powered air purifier akin to PAPR's. Too bad LG doesn't offer any sort of certification in that sense, so it's totally pointless.
@jameswright36242 жыл бұрын
@@RetrievingSearain I actually find the fresh air coming into it dramatically improved from a cloth mask, the seal against my face likewise, and the amplifier quite helpful when talking to people. Is it as effective as a properly fitted and sealed N95? Possibly not, I wouldn’t presume to know, but that would not be shocking as the seal is looser at least on me. More comfortable? Definitely, I’ve worn both. And again, compared to a cloth mask? Better sealing by far, filters the air, and more comfortable and allows you to converse to boot. Sounds like you’re more comfortable in an N95 and that’s a fine choice.

@@romeoortiz2130 Sorry for the late and long reply. I purchased the Atmoblue mask back in April, 2022. I must say, I was a bit disappointed with some of the things that it had. 1. The airflow was decent, but it could've been better. I did notice that. Also, every time that I had the mask on for about 10 or 20 minutes, the build up of condensation in the mask was unacceptable. I had to clean it constantly. 2. The mask bands that go around your head are a bit annoying, in terms of some comfort. It's like you have to adjust it almost every time that you put on the mask. 3. The price point is questionable. I mean, $130 for a mask like that? Well, that's quite a bit much. I would've paid at least $40 to $50 or so, not $130. 4. "Blocks 99.97% of particles." I would say half of that statement is false. I tried testing it out at my workplace that has quite a few smokers and vapers. It did part of its job correctly, but I still smelled only some of it. For my score on the Atmoblue mask bought from Amazon, it'd be about a 3/5. It's an ok quality, but the air filtration is a bit off. Hope this reply was worth looking at. :I

An NIOSH compliant N95 respirator filters at least 95% of .3 micron particles. H13 HEPA filters can filter 99.95% or more of .1 micron particles or larger. LG says .3 micron but if they are true H13 filters they capture even smaller particles than they say. This was useless for me, i couldn't get anything remotely close to a seal. The whole "one size fits all" is a load of crap, this is not designed for people with large heads/faces at all. And the "breathing sensor" doesn't work properly, i would much rather have a low/med/high setting than the gimmicky breath sensor that sometimes blows when you breath in, sometimes blows when you breath out.........useless

This is a terrifying product. Can you imagine a society that constantly has to wear this thing and record it all on a smartphone app.. Thats horrifying

No one really cares about your breathing patterns :) If they wanted to track you, your "Smarphone" already does that

Terrifyingly great how it prevents my hay fever when there is lots of pollen. Now I don't need medicine for it.
