For me, the metal arm was not coming down all the way. It was jammed up because of ice accumulation. Do not force. Took a hair dryer and about 2 minutes to release the metal bar from the ice by blowing back and forth up from the bottom of the ice maker. Held in the reset button for a couple of seconds and craft ice maker, dumped the ice balls, and refilled. The reset button is on the bottom of the ice maker on the left side, recessed next to the metal bar.

I left my fridge open for 3 min moved the bar up and down for 15 seconds and that was enough to melt the ice that kept mine stuck down.

In this model I am having a hard time finding the reset button. Any suggestions ?

Update on my issue - TAKE NOTE - we actually got thru to a very good care rep at LG this evening. This issue is fixed with a FIRMWARE UPDATE. Get a wifi connected device and you're asking for complications. Took about 45 minutes on the call, reconnecting the fridge to wifi, and downloading and installing firmware update. Rep says the craft ball maker should be back in action within 36 hours, but it's working now after 20 minutes.

I wasn't getting craft ice for a while. I called LG and they told me about the ThinQ app and the firmware update. I went through the steps and connected my fridge. Got the update, made sure the arm was down inside the bin and turned my freezer down to *0. All advice I got from the comment section and customer support. I got three spheres last night. My situation was a combination of all that.

Loud clicking noise after 6 months of ownership, the craft ice would not drop from the ice maker. Craft ice make replaced under warranty. Now at 15 months of ownership the craft ice maker is dong the same thing. LG says tough luck, your warranty is up. This is a known issue with the craft ice maker and they won't do anything about it.

What If the feeler arm DOESNT move freely? Do I force it? You just said “make sure it does”… that’s not particularly helpful.

@@franklara21 No it never did. It wasn't jammed up with ice or anything either. Just pulled the whole unit out, and LG did end up sending a replacement unit under warranty which is working so far.

We're having the same issue here. Just purchased this in October and it has never run properly. I think we've gotten about 9 balls before it took a dive. I find absolutely no reset button for the model we have and turning on off has not helped. Currently had the ice maker off for 72 hours and ready to turn back on but I'm not going to be hopeful this will work. Where are you all able to see anything stuck together inside your machine? And the stupid bar thing looks like it is always up. This is frustrating and I'm ready to throw in the towel.

@@mid-nightsanctum6232 Yeah same here. Ours will work great for a couple days, then nothing. It just started with the loud knocking today. Was just purchased in September so this is great! Going to see how much of a PITA it is to remove & thaw the unit as there appear to be ice balls stuck that can't get out, hence the knocking sound.

Purchase LG refrigerator for the craft ice maker and it won't make craft ice at all. This is the second time in less than a year that I have had problems with the craft ice maker. Currently I have called for repairs but I can't seem to get anyone to come service my refrigerator & it's covered under warranty.

I’ve had this fridge for 5 months and it won’t make the craft ice anymore! I checked the freezer and there were some ice balls in the bin stuck with a sheet of ice at the bottom of the bin! I had to use a hand held mirror to see the inside of where the craft ice is made and there were ice balls frozen together in there I had to put hot water inside a zip loc bag and hold it in there to melt the ice and get it out. Now the device for the ice balls won’t close. Paid $2k for this fridge for it to fck up this quick??? SMFH I expect for LG to fix this issue!

@@xoxo6060 I've got the same issue going on. My craft ice makes a loud knocking noise because something is stuck in there. Dealing with LG's customer service has been a nightmare. The company that is supposed to fix to come fix it is useless. Their voicemail is full and I can't even leave a message. They never answer the phone. LG tells they will come today but I doubt it.

Had same issue. Removed the craft ice module to discover ice not releasing due to hard water build up in the silicone mold. Scraped and scraped and scraped, what a pita, and it will happen again. Expensive gimmick and I should have known better

@@aaronmramirez how did you remove the module? This is like the 5th time that has happened. Ice balls freeze up in their mold causing them to get stuck and not release into the tray. I squirt hot water into it to melt the ice but it’s so annoying doing that I get water all over. It’s so frustrating. The temperature is at the right setting I don’t understand why this is happening

Once I changed the freezer temp from 0 to -2 I have not had any problems. My craft ice maker makes at least 6 ice balls per day.

This was the answer for me. It seems LG wants to keep the reset button location a secret.

I pressed the reset button and all mine would do it beep. The arm and mold would not move. I pulled off the front cover of the craft ice maker and then it instantly started working again. I also updated the firmware and tried warming it with a hair dryer, neither of those helped. It wasn't until I removed the front plate that it started working again.

For me it's adds water to the mold.... 10 seconds later it opens up the mold and dumps the water on the tray

My ice balls are stuck in the tray and wont drop. The ice maker then turns on the water filling up the bin. POS....

Same issue with me!! I have to pull out the tray and run hot water on the thick ice in the tray to break it up. A storm took out my power for about 6 hours and then it started working making balls again, only to start freezing the balls together on the tray with running water. I'M PASSED PISSED WITH THIS OVER PRICED P.O.S.
