0:14 Dear Lord, do NOT put a curved monitor (especially one with such an aggressive curve) face down on a hard, flat surface and then put pressure on the middle of panel in order to install the stand. Your just asking to crack the screen. In fact don't do that with any monitor curved or not. Leave the monitor face down in the box with the Styrofoam pad underneath for support and then install the stand directly from there. Then you can lift it out of the box

I just bought the 34 inch version which I think is the optimal size for 3440x1440. It has the same pixel density as my current 27 inch Odyssey G7, which is not ultrawide at 109ppi. I feel like 39 inches doesnt give enough of a benefit, especially when mostly playing mouse and keyboard games and sitting up close, to justify the reduction in PPI. I'm super excited to get it and I am worried about burn-in, but based on the research I've done, it seems like just hiding the taskbar and desktop icons, having a black or moving background, and allowing it to perform its image cleaning regularly is more than enough to reduce the chances of burn in significantly. I've heard that you really need to have a static image, with high brightness, sit in the same spot for days in some cases before you will even begin to notice burn in and in most cases, its temporary. For permanent burn-in, you would need to have that same image there all day, every day, for months. I would use it mostly for gaming and watching youtube/movies, so I'm sure I will be fine **fingers crossed**

@BipolarBLKSheep hey, I'm looking to pick up the same monitor. I'm wondering how far do the edges of the screen come outward if it sits flush against a wall or something. Trying to figure out if it'll still leave me with decent space on a 24inch deep desk, and enough room to have a vertically mounted monitor next to it

Same here. I also prefer that monitors are without speakers. There is no need for them in the monitors. They're lower quality and pretty much useless. I'd also add useless "smart" features that Samsung pushes. I didn't buy some of their monitors because of that.

How do you find the text clarity and readability? I have the AW3423DWF which is a beautiful 1440p OLED and it took me some time to adjust to the text being blurry in comparison to traditional pixel structures. QD-OLED panels don't fix it and this is the first different panel I've seen since they were also released.

Just last week I ordered the 1rst gen with 45", too. Couldn't resist the price tag of 980 bucks. Now I kinda regret it, seing that 39" one with higher PPI and a nicer stand.. Although I'm also not bothered by the low PPI so much, since I use that monitor mostly for PC-Gaming, and just sometimes for productivity work. Not sure if I should just return it and get the new one as soon as it's available, or if I should keep my 45" one. I really enjoy the screen-size of my current monitor though.. I'm torn 🤔

How would you say this? Performs a comparison to the LG45 inch ultra gear with the 800 R curve. I know the biggest concern with that model. Was the low PPI count? However, I think it made up for it with immersion. But what would your opinion be
@GeekStreet
@GeekStreet 9 ай бұрын
Performance is very similar but this is brighter the higher PPI makes it slightly best but it all depends on your usage if you're just going to be using it for simracing then the 45 inch gives great immersion with the larger display but I did find was a bit over welming on a desk, this is where thee 39inch felt just right on a desk.

For me the only deal breaker is the price. Gaming only I am fine with the PPI of 96, as even a 4090 wouldn't be enough to drive this monitor @ 240hz in the latest titles. Hope this is just the early adopters price, as the LG 45" WQHD@240Hz has already come down like 60% since release.
@LiRoG28

Yes, true fact. I mean its completely sensless, because we speak about a UWQHD monitor, but here is just a thought: Would it be possible to reset the aspect ratio to 16:9 (resolution 2560x1440) for some additional FPS? And in the future you could upgrade to the "Next-Gen-GPU" to drive that panel on its native resolution (3440x1440).

OLED 39 looks promising- mine will be here the first week of April... the most difficult part is waiting. I can understand why they skipped speakers, as anyone using this for gaming will have a great audio setup- but for office use, it would be nice to have the simple speakers for the typical "ding" when using office apps. I'll be using mine more for home office use than anything, but I have an old flight sim cockpit setup with gaming chair- so I may throw a VESA mount on that and bring that back to life. Now, if only decent video card prices were a thing...

Ironically, the curve, which is something I thought I would hate, was one of my favorite things. Refresh rate was awesome and colors were good, but damn that image blurriness Even when the resolution is set correctly, kind of sucks for me. I disagree about monitors needing to have speakers. The *best* monitor speakers sound *worse* than the *cheapest* dedicated desktop speakers, and the people buying this monitor will no doubt already have good speakers, or have the cash ready to buy high quality speakers. Plus, in my experience, Windows automatically prioritizes monitor speakers over existing options, when a new monitor is plugged in (or just randomly), which I find extremely annoying. I'd like to hear why you think speakers are necessary in monitors.

If you go to settings on your monitor go to Input - Aspect Ratio - Full Wide and that would stretch it out (When using console). But the picture won't be that great because consoles don't do ultrawide.

I really wanted this monitor due to the 21:9 format and size but the resolution is too low. Ended up with a G9 49“ oled and I’m more than happy. I was hesitant cause 32:9 is not always supported by older games but so far it’s not problem. And it’s also great for productivity.

Hello. I just purchased this monitor. It is awesome. The only thing I realized is, there is a light pinkish tint on the right side and can be seen on white background. Some users tell that these oled screens have the same issue. Is it a problem or normal behavior ?
@matthewmayberry239
@matthewmayberry239 3 ай бұрын
This is normal, it's due to how the subpixel layout being RWBG (Red/White/Blue/Green). It happens on ALL OLED monitors, QD-OLED is less noticeable. Until Windows learns how to handle it, it'll continue to be an issue. The problem becomes less noticeable as the pixels per inch increase.
@AslanBehar
@AslanBehar 3 ай бұрын
@@matthewmayberry239thanks a lot. So this is not a technical issue. Whether I replace it with another one, it will still continue to have that pink color on somewhere. I was thinking to replace the display cable but seems not a solution.
@matthewmayberry239
@matthewmayberry239 3 ай бұрын
@@AslanBehar Correct, Windows 10/11 does not properly handle the subpixel layout. If you're using MacOS, I believe it does from what I've read, but I haven't personally used it to know. Until Microsoft implements support for the subpixel layout, every single OLED will have some sort of color fringing. W-OLED seems to have it worse than QD-OLED. I personally cant see it on my QD-OLED, but it's 4k and 32", so the PPI is fairly high. On my 42", I could see it very minor.
