I also bought an LG 39GS95QE for my second computer. In short, after the last update of Windows 11, the fonts look quite tolerable, like on some kind of VA matrix, even true type. Test this model too. ;) This 45’’ is no longer relevant due to its resolution - after all, UWQHD is not enough for this size, whatever one may say. :)
@Battleneter8 ай бұрын
The LG does not have a lower resolution than the G9, both are 1440P, the G9 is wider thus has more pixels horizontally, but that does not equal "higher resolution". Its all about the VERTICAL pixel count not horizontal. The LG is however equivalent to a 32" vertically and the G9 only a 28", so in actual fact the G9 has higher ppi but that's only due to the small vertical screen size.

So far, you're the only person that has reviewed this monitor on youtube so thanks for it as it was helpful. I just got the LG 39GS95QE from Best Buy last week. I was gonna get this monitor but at $1700 it was a no go, until this weekend. It went on sale at Best Buy for $1200 so I pulled the trigger. The 39" also dropped from $1200 to $1000 so I used that $200 savings to get this monitor for $1000. The DPI doesn't bother me as I can't see it unless I'm up against the monitor. I have the scaling to 125 and sitting at 16 inches away from it. My gpu is the 4090 and it struggles in some games to even reach 240 fps. I liked the stand of the 39 over this one, the 39 is so much better. I came from the Asus PG42UQ and the 800R didn't bother me one bit. I got used to it right away. I wouldn't buy this $1700 but at $1200, it's a good deal.

I bought this monitor after watching the review of the original model. For those looking at this monitor: You trade PPI for insanely fast refresh rates and motion clarity and the best immersion a TV sized monitor can offer. On top of that it’s an OLED. You can find the original model on sale, for the same price as a normal sized OLED. You don’t buy this monitor to get a normal experience. It’s all about the immersion.

@@Akupunktura187 QD-OLED colors are better. I’m not going to argue that. I said smaller screens have better PPI. Yes the 32in 4k QD-OLED is a better screen, it’s fact. But I said this monitor is the most immersive due to its size, curve, the high refresh and motion clarity is excellent. There are plenty of smaller regular sized monitors that have better PPI and QD-OLEDs will always look better than matte WOLEDs (LG 45in). But if someone is looking at this monitor it’s due to it’s size for immersion during gaming. That’s literally the only reason. It’s one of a kind at that until they make 5k ultrawide version 2024 Q4.

True. This screen size + 21:9 aspect ratio + 800R curve immerses me more than my own higher resolution 42inch LG C2 or the MSI MPG 32inch QD-OLED (which I returned). e.g. Playing No Man's Sky on this is a vastly different experience compared to the latter 2 displays as you actually feel like you're in a spaceship instead of just looking at a TV or monitor.

I tried the Corsair flex version recently. The only issue i had was with the pixel density. Unlike with a qd-oled display where the colour fringing on text gave me a headache as well as the pixel density being low. Really at that size display 3440x1440 is unacceptable. Unless you're literally only ever playing a game or maybe watching a video. Unlike the G9 oled you really can't even begin to do anything productive imo. In some ways it's like using an old school 1080p or 720p monitor. If the next generation is 5k2k like is rumoured, then that's actually endgame for me.

I am going to pick this monitor up for gaming, and I am wondering if i should grab the GR now for $1200 or wait for the GS to drop in price in a few months. @Spinelli__7 ай бұрын
Never noticed the ABL a single time EVER in 14 months of using the 2023 monitor while gaming, watching movies, videos, etc. Also, the 2023 model can have it's brightness way increased with 4 or 5 settings in the LG service menu (requires an LG service remote that's like $8), not to mention, using DLDSR (at full 240 Hz, RGB) with games drastically increases image quality. The extra brightness settings in the LG service menu combined with DLDSR turns the monitor from a beast to an absolute monster. Ultimately, the G9 shape with the 1800R curve (I'm not a fan of the 1000R and definitely not the 800R) fits perfectly on my desk. I was going to wait for a 7680x2160p OLED 32:9 but there is currently not one scheduled for production. So I went with the G9. I do have a 4090 but the framerate on that resolution would not run decent framerates in most games anyway. I do have an LG C1 TV connected as well that I was using to game in 4k before I got the G9.

Lower input lag than a TV, curvature, 21:9 (ie. "ultrawide") aspect ratio and, most importantly, 240 Hz which makes a huge difference. 120 Hz still has tons of blur regardless of pixel response times due to OLED and LCD screens using a terrible thing called "sample-and-hold" to update the image. It's only when you get to the 180 or 190 Hz area and above that the blur associated with sample-and-hold (often referred to as "persistence blur) starts noticeably being reduced. At 240 Hz (combined with OLED's incredibly low pixel response times), it's awesome.

My work is remote and I like to always have two windows open side by side (Word, Edge, RDP, Outlook, teams, ect), I'm also a casual gamer. Will this monitor be suitable for working with two windows side by side?

I am a dedicated MSFS 2020 flight simmer, and am looking for a simple upgrade, since I hate dealing with graphics cards, etc. Would like to buy an Xbox (X) and hook it up to the LG 45. Do you think I will get excellent graphics with smooth operation?

I’ve been itching to get a nicer monitor than my non OLED 34” Asus. Price dropped $500 today for Mother’s Day so I gave in and snagged one.

I’m still waiting for a 5k OLED curved monitor with a delta e < 1 and a 240hz refresh rate where I get the best colors and pixels for photo editing while still have the specs for intense gaming.

This monitor is meant for people who prefer form over function. Its the equivalent of stretching 2560 x 1080p to 34", 1920 x 1080p to 27" and 2560 x1440p to 36". Basically for people who just need a large monitor despite the draw backs that come with not increasing resolution along with the size. Personally, the only way I would own this monitor if I could sit like 4 feet away from it. I'd rather just do 34" 1440p @ 2.5 feet away.

Great review. Saw this at Best Buy today and I loved how it looked. Almost pulled the trigger but thought I should research it first. Not a gamer, mostly productivity and some content development but on a MacBook Pro. Will wait for higher resolution. Curious about those panels on your wall behind the monitor! Any info on them?

will they make the same in 4k?

2024 actually has a new flat stand, but guess not everywhere they sell it with it

I wanted to love it, but the Vertical Banding was so terrible I had to return it. I got another one and the banding was just was bad.. Must have got the panel lottery. I ended up getting the Alienware DWF instead. No banding and is great. Sure its a bit smaller. But I'm happy with it. But the size and deep curve, I did love on the 6QB.

How long does it take to get used to the high curvature of something like this? I love slightly curved monitors ultrawide, but am pretty skeptical on such extreme curves, especially for productivity (I need quick, and accurate mouse placement).
@PeteMatheson4 ай бұрын
Extreme curves are actually more comfortable in my experience. With shallow curves you kinda need to lean a little into each far corner. Bigger curve needs none of that! And it still looks flat when you're sat in front of one

If you want a large OLED 4K monitor, you should consider the LG 42 Flex. I had considered the 45 UltraGear, but it's 2K resolution has just too low of a dpi. I've been using the 42 Flex for 3 months now, and wouldn't trade it for anything - except maybe a 48" Flex (if LG made one).
@blueferrari3975 ай бұрын
I agree. Once you've gone to 4K, nothing below that cuts it. I'll also wait for the 48" flex if it comes about.
