I also bought an LG 39GS95QE for my second computer. In short, after the last update of Windows 11, the fonts look quite tolerable, like on some kind of VA matrix, even true type. Test this model too. ;) This 45’’ is no longer relevant due to its resolution - after all, UWQHD is not enough for this size, whatever one may say. :)
@Battleneter7 ай бұрын
The LG does not have a lower resolution than the G9, both are 1440P, the G9 is wider thus has more pixels horizontally, but that does not equal "higher resolution". Its all about the VERTICAL pixel count not horizontal. The LG is however equivalent to a 32" vertically and the G9 only a 28", so in actual fact the G9 has higher ppi but that's only due to the small vertical screen size.

So far, you're the only person that has reviewed this monitor on youtube so thanks for it as it was helpful. I just got the LG 39GS95QE from Best Buy last week. I was gonna get this monitor but at $1700 it was a no go, until this weekend. It went on sale at Best Buy for $1200 so I pulled the trigger. The 39" also dropped from $1200 to $1000 so I used that $200 savings to get this monitor for $1000. The DPI doesn't bother me as I can't see it unless I'm up against the monitor. I have the scaling to 125 and sitting at 16 inches away from it. My gpu is the 4090 and it struggles in some games to even reach 240 fps. I liked the stand of the 39 over this one, the 39 is so much better. I came from the Asus PG42UQ and the 800R didn't bother me one bit. I got used to it right away. I wouldn't buy this $1700 but at $1200, it's a good deal.

I bought this monitor after watching the review of the original model. For those looking at this monitor: You trade PPI for insanely fast refresh rates and motion clarity and the best immersion a TV sized monitor can offer. On top of that it’s an OLED. You can find the original model on sale, for the same price as a normal sized OLED. You don’t buy this monitor to get a normal experience. It’s all about the immersion.

@@Akupunktura187 QD-OLED colors are better. I’m not going to argue that. I said smaller screens have better PPI. Yes the 32in 4k QD-OLED is a better screen, it’s fact. But I said this monitor is the most immersive due to its size, curve, the high refresh and motion clarity is excellent. There are plenty of smaller regular sized monitors that have better PPI and QD-OLEDs will always look better than matte WOLEDs (LG 45in). But if someone is looking at this monitor it’s due to it’s size for immersion during gaming. That’s literally the only reason. It’s one of a kind at that until they make 5k ultrawide version 2024 Q4.

True. This screen size + 21:9 aspect ratio + 800R curve immerses me more than my own higher resolution 42inch LG C2 or the MSI MPG 32inch QD-OLED (which I returned). e.g. Playing No Man's Sky on this is a vastly different experience compared to the latter 2 displays as you actually feel like you're in a spaceship instead of just looking at a TV or monitor.

I tried the Corsair flex version recently. The only issue i had was with the pixel density. Unlike with a qd-oled display where the colour fringing on text gave me a headache as well as the pixel density being low. Really at that size display 3440x1440 is unacceptable. Unless you're literally only ever playing a game or maybe watching a video. Unlike the G9 oled you really can't even begin to do anything productive imo. In some ways it's like using an old school 1080p or 720p monitor. If the next generation is 5k2k like is rumoured, then that's actually endgame for me.

I still wouldn't mind a bit more vertical real estate, though. But in the video, there's a point made that with the 45" you don't have to move your head to see the sides of the image, but in the comparison image, the 45" is only slightly narrower than the 49". Regardless, I can't wait for the 2160p version of the 45". That'll be an amazing monitor.

Lower input lag than a TV, curvature, 21:9 (ie. "ultrawide") aspect ratio and, most importantly, 240 Hz which makes a huge difference. 120 Hz still has tons of blur regardless of pixel response times due to OLED and LCD screens using a terrible thing called "sample-and-hold" to update the image. It's only when you get to the 180 or 190 Hz area and above that the blur associated with sample-and-hold (often referred to as "persistence blur) starts noticeably being reduced. At 240 Hz (combined with OLED's incredibly low pixel response times), it's awesome.

So will amd VSR right? there is a weaird thing i noticed...i have both 3440x1440 34" 165hz ultragear IPS and when i use VSR (usually 5120×2160) image gets much much better,but i also have LG C3 3840x2160 120HZ OLED in which any supersampling makes images look worseor the same...anyone know the reason? could it be that C3 has DSC?
@drunkhusband62577 ай бұрын
@@notimeforspace2477 TVs were never meant to handle supersampling. Whenever you supersample something on most high end tvs the actual image processing of the TV essentially re-scales back down whatever supersampling you applied, making the image even worse due to more layers of image processing.

I am a dedicated MSFS 2020 flight simmer, and am looking for a simple upgrade, since I hate dealing with graphics cards, etc. Would like to buy an Xbox (X) and hook it up to the LG 45. Do you think I will get excellent graphics with smooth operation?

If you want a large OLED 4K monitor, you should consider the LG 42 Flex. I had considered the 45 UltraGear, but it's 2K resolution has just too low of a dpi. I've been using the 42 Flex for 3 months now, and wouldn't trade it for anything - except maybe a 48" Flex (if LG made one).
@blueferrari3974 ай бұрын
I agree. Once you've gone to 4K, nothing below that cuts it. I'll also wait for the 48" flex if it comes about.

After gaming on the 2013 (GR) model and the 2014 (GS) model, did you notice a significant difference in brightness and how the ABL dims the screen during bright moments? I heard the 2013 model's ABL is more aggressive than the 2014. I am going to pick this monitor up for gaming, and I am wondering if i should grab the GR now for $1200 or wait for the GS to drop in price in a few months. If there is a noticable difference, I will wait.
@Spinelli__6 ай бұрын
Never noticed the ABL a single time EVER in 14 months of using the 2023 monitor while gaming, watching movies, videos, etc. Also, the 2023 model can have it's brightness way increased with 4 or 5 settings in the LG service menu (requires an LG service remote that's like $8), not to mention, using DLDSR (at full 240 Hz, RGB) with games drastically increases image quality. The extra brightness settings in the LG service menu combined with DLDSR turns the monitor from a beast to an absolute monster. Best overall gaming monitor in the entire industry by far (or 2nd to the 57" 32:9 Samsung if only play simracing games).

Still rocking with my LG UltraGear QHD 34-Inch Curved Monitor (34GP83A-B) 144Hz on a "high-settings" 1440p GPU setup (RTX 4080). For $1,000, I don't see the point of getting this. I'll never hit 240hz at 1440p. I'd go straight to a 4K 120hz 38 or 45" curved monitor

5120x2160 (5k2k) by the end of this year.This should be the true end game in terms of resolution. A 21:9 ultra wide which is capable of displaying 4k quality picture.
@5ean5ean227 ай бұрын
Just to clarify. The physical screen may be taller but its the same vertical pixel count at the 32:9. They are both 1440 pixels vertically. The difference is the 32:9 monitor has more horizontal pixels. So the 32:9 has alot more screen space over this monitor bc it has higher pixels per inch. Overall if this monitor is 1 penny iver 1k USD its a rip off.

I really appreciate you mathing the screen size there for us. I think this might be the perfect sized monitor for gaming. Samsung ones do seem great but, their aspect ratio kills it for me. And the 57 inch isn't even in oled. Great video by the way. I might actually get this if it drops in my country. Are there any similar or better monitors coming out and in your opinion is this the best one at the moment?.

Great review :) Have you tried to set the games on windowed borderless and set the settings tp 3440x1440 on them to see if you will get a better or worse fps on them at the same game resolution? would'nt that be a better comparison because the GPU is having a harder time when you use the higher resolution I have the G9 57" myself, and most of the time im running the games in 5120x2160 because the full widht is to extreme for one game, so I use it to have steam and other programs open in the sides.

Unfortunately I purchased the LG 45GS95QE instead of the 45GS96QB which are nearly identical besides the usb-C port (instead of USB-B) and built-in speakers. Ordering directly from LG was a mistake, no exchanges, return are subject to restocking fee, and long RMA process

Are the PiP options only “full screen” “50/50” and “mini window” ? Some of the shots in the video looked like maybe a different ratio than 50/50, (maybe 66/33), but I couldn’t tell for sure.
