I had just purchased the LG 32SQ780S and ended up returning it a few days later after realizing the the viewing angle was horrible. By Viewing angle I mean that the center looked good when sitting at my desk, but the left and right edge were dim and blurry. I spend 8 hours a day writing code at my desk and I need to have a monitor where the edges look at good as the center. I am going to purchase this monitor and hopefully it will look great when connected to my 2018 MacBook Pro. It only has USB-C ports.

Another option would be the LG 34WP88C-B 34-inch Curved

@piotrch2638 I saw videos or at least 1) where the person was not careful and didn't do proper cable routing through the mount. I would expect any USB-C cable to get damaged. I setup my monitor and never move it. It just works

Monitor does have a gaming mode but not sure how the response time changes. I use this on my ps5 and some pc gaming and think it is fine.
@WaltsTV Жыл бұрын
its not going to effect much because its not 120hz. Gaming on 60hz is standard 120hz or higher is just premium.

Power unit are very volatile, impossible to repair, and impossible to contact LG to get new ones, got 2 screens, both died within 18 months, cost me in the UK £180 to replace, great screen, but zero back up from L\g when things go wrong!

Is there any eye strain while viewing this monitor for long hours 6,+, from a 2ft distance? Are the images and text sharp , clear and non blurry when viewing documents, code or web pages ? Can you use the USB-C port of this monitor for displaying video or is it restricted to PD only ? I understand you can use the DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI - 2 IN ports for display of video content , but what about USB-C port of this monitor? Also to connect to DisplayPort are you using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable or something else ?
@WaltsTVАй бұрын
I personally still use it to this day and no. But if you do I would blame it more on yourself then the monitor because most monitors will be similar in this department. Best thing to do is take breaks ever half hour or so, wear blue light glasses, ect.

@@WaltsTV I checked out some other 32" 4K pannels like Samsing M8 and the eye strain on that is practically NIL , because it's a VA pannel with much higher contrast ratio. 4K VA pannels are also productivity option for long viewing hours because eye strain is much less compared to IPS pannels . Abd the color accuracy and image and text clarity on Samsung M8 was fantastic even after macOS scaling + it has integrated Webcam module + smart TV func. and cheaper that the LG one , but I like the LG too...nit because of the display but it's ergonomic arm 😉...wish LG sold this ergonomic arm seperately.

Excellent video! Thank you for sharing. I haven't seen elsewhere any information on how low can it be positioned, can it go all the way to the desk floor?

The lowest it can go which I happen to have mine at, is 5 Inches.

How is the ips glow, as you have dark environment, so how does it perform?
@WaltsTV Жыл бұрын
I think its perfect for what I do. Its not bad at all. I just watched this and it was crisp, almost no glow and kept all of the color and contrast I would expect from something of this price point - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nX3GoZ2PaKygaKcsi=wDcqpJg6n9eXTEcx

I have had this monitor for a while and had no issues. I will say on my Mac after updates it had gotten picky before with connecting to this monitor but is easily fixed with playing with the resolution

Hi, great breakdown, greta to see you're enjoying the monitor. I'm upgrading from an iMac to the Mac mini M2 and decided to go with this monitor, all arriving on Friday, best part is the unboxing and setup, all very exciting. Couple of questions. How have you connected the monitor, via USB C or HDMI, I don't need the power via USB C because it'll be coming off the Mac mini. Also, I do have a 13" MacBook Pro M1 from work, can you switch between the Mac mini and the MacBook with both plugged in at the same time. One for HDMI and the other on the USB C.
@WaltsTV Жыл бұрын
Not entirely sure, I run mine off display port but have no issues. Sorry I know that doesn't really help, Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I do!

@@WThaynew Curious how did it work out, could you connect both?
@WThaynew Жыл бұрын
@@paulsjurans Ya, I connected the Mac mini via the USBC and the MacBook via an adapter into the HDMI. If working off the Macbook, I can share the monitors. If I want to flip back to the Mac mini, I change the source on the monitor to USBC. Hope that answers your question.
