This is a very specific circumstance that doesn't affect 99% of the population, but that suitcase TV is perfect for military deployments.

@@merro.a not much else to do during downtime on deployment other than work out, read, or watch movies/play video games. Having a portable TV and speakers you can hook up to a playstation or xbox is pretty convenient.

For travelers that doesn't use laptops, but opt for a mini itx pc, this suitcase may be a really great deal.

Portable monitors have been gaining popularity lately, especially for portable gaming from Steam Deck, Switch, etc. They mostly have a built in battery that charges your device while using them. But all of them have kind of a tablet design, which is difficult to carry around without damaging it and hard to prop up when using it. This seems like a clever way to make it much easier to transport safely while also being really recognisable as a brand and easy to use. I think it's pretty clever. People have been hauling huge sound boxes to the beach for years - why shouldn't they take a monitor as well? They always listen to music from youtube anyway - or a friend could be facetiming in.

The rotating tv mentioned (or this suitcase tv that can rotate) would be awesome for Switch games that support " Tate" mode. Stern Pinball is a great example because the verticality of the screen is a better fit for the pinball tables.

Also imagine having an apartment and being able to completely slide your TV away. Most of us have wall mounted TV's or something on a dresser. It stays there. No think of being able to not put holes in your wall and clearing of your dresser. This device is a minimalist dream TV. It's also an influencers new mobile station. There's no laptop that does what this can do. Acer comes close but it's a small laptop they have.

I mean, you could use that TV while traveling to use with your console. Either because the local tv is already being used by your relatives, or because there is none. That just unlock so many possibilities, I think. Also, a good excuse is to use also make use of it as a big second or even main screen for a laptop if it is already there, right? Like, for a trip for your camp house or anything? haha

Back in the day there was a suitcase for an Xbox. It had the monitor on the top half and the console + two controllers were stored in the bottom half. I think the screen was a good bit smaller and I assume like 720p. But to play while traveling, like in a hotel room it could also be great. (I never bought one because I had no Xbox or PlayStation at this time).

The suitcase tv misses on a couple of points. It is meant to be portable and is shown used in a vehicle. It does not have a 12V DC power input. It is also too long for airplane carry-on at 24inches long.

Do you seriously not know why people want portrait monitors? You're making videos. I don't know what LG had in mind, but I have a monitor set up in portrait mode for photo editing. I use it for portrait videos sometimes too, but that's more of a useful side-effect.

The way I see the TV suitcase, portable TV's have always been a thing. Old portable Sony TV's had antennas that you pull out or come detachable have always been a thing since the early 90s. This is just an interesting modern take on the portable TV by LG which is great. It's a Bluetooth speaker with a fun U.I. or a high rez porta TV for when you wanna take your videogames and entertainment on the road or to the backyard during a small gathering with the grill going. Probably not a good idea to use it during the summer due to intense heat from global warming as summers aren't what they used to be in the 90s and early 2000s.

There is another benefit, and that's financial. Granted you can use a laptop for crypto currency. But what you really want for Crypto is something more inline with a Chromebook. This fits inline with a chromebook for security reasons.
