Sometimes the wifi can cause signal interference depending on how close you have it

@@jbpatsfan81 thanks. The soundbar works fine when not connected to the rear speakers. This only happens specifically with the Spk8 and it gets worse as time goes by. If it was the wifi signal it would also interfere with the soundbar alone, which is to where the spk8 connects via bluetooh correct? I see a lot of people have this problem with no clear solutions even after separating all gadgets far from each other. If I don't find some solution soon I will probably return the spk8...

At first he was very strong, powerful subwoofer, and I was very pleased, but when I defined applications the ability to arrange the sound according to the room, each volume decreased and especially the power of the subwoofer is no longer shakes my house and it's really disappointing! A few months ago I purchased an LG soundbar model SN 5Y, a few days later I decided to purchase the SPK8-S rear speakers as suggested on the Soundbar packaging however it took me a while to locate a dealer that still had them in stock because LG had discontinued them 12 months ago. Ok so I finally get them and get it hooked up and all sounds great. However I’ve noticed one annoying problem that being that around 30-45 minutes into using the system the sound from both the Soundbar and rear speaker’s suddenly drop out and after approximately 30 seconds splutters back to life again. This usually only happens once but if I change the source from the TV eg change TV Stations , DVD etc. it will happen again. I’ve contacted LG support and also the support from my TV manufacturer ( Hisense) and followed their troubleshooting advice but the problem still persists. Any ideas 💡?.

As far as I know, this compatibility has to do with region and apparently exactly same looking sound bar, just with slightly difference on the name (due region), give you no compatibility, and I see that extremely ridiculous and annoying. I have an SK8, and I see a friend having a sound bar from an other brand with the addition of rear speakers, and it makes massive difference. Well, all that I know is that LG will be not on the list for my future upgrade. I don't understand why they do that, at list a software upgrade or something for compatibility... but no, and to be honest, the Dolby Atmos experience is just very weak with this bar. Sound quality, not the best but not bad, but keeping in mind how much you pay for Dolby Atmos... is it really worth it? My personal opinion:I wouldn't buy it again, at least in Europe.

The only ones that I know of are the ones that come with the sn11rg. Those have dolby atmos support, but I don't think you can buy them separately. At least not yet unfortunately

I’ve been reading up on this and apparently they use a common frequency to communicate with the soundbar a lot of people have said that once the moved their router for example to another room or changed its frequency it prevented this issue

Sn9yg owner with these speakers. Lg just released 2 updates in the last month and the overall volume seems to have been nerfed. What bar are you using your speakers with? On my bar the subwoofer is hardly active unless I'm using Dolby Atmos. The rear speakers are hardly present anymore. I had this bar for about a year. It is not as immersive as it once was.

You can adjust the settings, but it still won't be as loud as the soundbar unfortunately. Though upping the volume from the app will give it more juice

Hi guys I tested the rear speakers with my LG CX and the new DSN8YG Soundbar with KZbin 5.1 and 7.1 surround videos, but the rear speakers are always playing with the front speakers - not seperatly. Thanks for your response. I had the LG SL8YG Soundbar. Also in surround mode the test worked. When the rear speakers were tested only the rear speakers played. But with the new one the right rear speaker and the right front speaker are playing at the same time in the test video. Is it an error of the new soundbar or do I have wrong settings?

I have the SN7CY fantastic soundbar BUT when coupled with these rear wireless speakers nothing but problems, the right rear speaker has constant hissing and high pitched noise, a tapping sound to, ive checked the wires, reset it, reconnected it problem still persists, its so annoying. First i returned the SL6Y soundbar because of popping and crackling and bluetooth interference now these speakers causing me issues, i don't know what LG are doing 😭

Maybe the connectivity was wrong you always wanna do a wired set up when it comes to a soundbar because when you Bluetooth your audio you los a lot of quality. Try to do the hdmi arc setup instead. I see you already returned them but the way you connect everything has a lot to do with the overall quality.

Just purchased these set and it’s still in transit.. should be delivered by next week hopefully. For the support, I will be using an “L” support which will be fixed on the wall and screw the speaker on top of the “L”.. an M4 bolt should do the job to hold the speaker as per forums I have found online. I’ll update the comments once I receive my speakers and fixed it using this method!

It may depend on the audio signal that you're getting. Like dolby atmos or dobly digital. Also have you tinkered with the option of "surround" and "original" on the LG app?

Maybe it's the content then 🤔. Sometimes I'll get a bigger kick from them if the audio mix is dolby atmos on like Ready Player One or The Matrix vs. something on Netflix that may also be dolby atmos, but isn't as focused rear sound.

Get the lg WiFi speaker app and you can turn up rear speaker volume up and it can be done through remote .

Recording the sound with a mic or recorder wouldn't be a accurate representation of what you would get in person. The same goes for headphones, it is something you have to experience in person for the details. Also this is just a quick review of specs, not a lecture

It's basically a 7.1.2 soundbar setup. Technically this model is missing the center channel so you could call it a 6.1.2 setup, but it's still excellent 👌
