Thank you for the great video. I am wondering if you can use the monitor to zoom in/out when the video signal comes from HDMI or somebody shares their IPad screen, as you have demonstrated it in the video. I try to figure out if this monitor might be a good fit for a visually impaired student in class.

It's a cast or mirror of the device you're putting on the screen so it's controlled by the device being cast. Meaning if you're using an ipad and casting it to the StandByMe only the ipad can control it, however if the student is using the screen and is close to it, it's already a very big screen and makes the things on it quite large (it's like blowing up an ipad screen really big) If, however, the student is accessing something not cast from another device (ex: an app on the StandByMe, an internet page, etc) then they would have the ability to manipulate the screen like they could on a phone or ipad. I'm a former teacher and I would say as long as the student has nearby access to the StandByMe, this would be very helpful as it's like a huge ipad and would make things bigger to start with and allow for accessibility to have the content even close to them. You mentioned having them screen touch to blow it up so that leads me to believe this would be something right next to them so it for sure would make anything you cast to the screen very large compared to what it is on your device. It's definitely something I would have in my classroom if I were still in education. Happy to answer any further classroom-use questions.

I believe those are device-specific pens and only work on Apple or Samsung products. This is an LG, so I would say probably not.

About how heavy would you say it is?

Heavier than my four year old niece. It's definitely not something you carry up a flight of stairs to the second flood. (it's also definitely not going to tip over)

When mirroring can you control it from the touchscreen?

No, by definition mirroring is just reflecting what is on another device and everything must be controlled by the device that is being mirrored. There are ways for devices to control other devices but you have to be incredibly careful of what you use to do it because there's a lot of shady applications and eduction out there that could get you in real trouble. Mirroring is definitely the better choice.

Sure! It's super easy to put a teleprompter app on your phone or computer and cast it to the StandByMe, just be mindful of camera placement so you're not looking too far away from the camera to read the words (test it out in some shorter clips before trying to film a long one to make sure you're happy with camera placement and eye line)

Awesome, but the only complaint is the battery life of course. So far i haven't been able to get more than 2 hr 15 min. I have never been able to get 3 hours. Not even close.

Different activities use different amounts of energy. If it’s constantly searching for wifi, that will be more. If it’s rotating through photos, that’s less. It just depends on the workload you’re doing😉😉

It doesn’t have a built in camera for security so if you’re trying to livestream/FaceTime/etc you pop your phone in it with the camera over the edge so you can view it on the big screen but still be on camera

Mine came from Korea and I can't change the region or country and most things are in Korean can you help I messaged the seller no help now doesn't answer.i got mine off ebay amazon was out now they have it at 999 mine was over 1100 I'm pretty upset about it

Oh yikes, that's not good! So typically speaking when a product is brand new like this (it was **just** released in the last few weeks) anything you find on ebay will be a scam or from a country that it's compatible with yours, so in the future don't ever buy any big tech things from ebay if it's within a year or so of that item releasing. Always, always buy through the links I provide in my video description as those have been vetted. Go back and read the terms of service on ebay (I'm not familiar with them) and see if you can file a dispute for it not being as advertised (also check the listing to make sure it didn't say it was Korean, sometimes they fine print that so they can't get in trouble) Aside from attempting to dispute the ebay purchase, you'll have to sit down and read through the user manual for the device and see if that can guide you through the process of switching the language over, though if it was designed for another country you may not have all the features even if you switch over the language, but that depends entirely on how it was built and the individual country's rules, regulations, and capabilities/accessibilities.
