Thank you very, very much!!! It was so simple. I called a repair service and he said I needed a new control panel. $200 Plus. It will be 9 days before he can get the part and replace it. He won't be back now. Such a simple video that saved one person $200. Imagine how much money you could have possibly saved your subscribers. I am a new subscriber. If I had of watched this first, it would have saved me $125 service call. Bt the way, I'm sure I would have need to pay another sevice charge, but maybe not. I only paid $800 +- for the machine. THANK YOU AGAIN Cyberskrimps!!!

Thank you so very much! We have the WT7700HWA model for exactly 6 years to the date when it stopped working. We tried the 5 second reset as LG recommended, but it did not work. A quick unplug for a few seconds also did not work (as your video shows)... so we tried unplugging it for roughly 30 minutes, and that got it running again! So very grateful you posted this!

I don’t know if I was lucky or not but I followed the steps below and it worked! 1. Unplug the machine for 30 mins 2. After the 30 mins, plug it back in 3. Press and hold the power AND the play/pause button for at least 10 secs then release those buttons 4. Press the power button again and the machine should turn on Good luck!

I just fixed a friends machine today. No reset worked. Made sure power was going into board. No issues with fuses. When back cover is off, red led is on. That says board has power. Thing about it is, if you take the panel apart, you will see the spring on the power button. On mine it was really 1/2 inch to the right. Might have been able to power it on just by pressing just to the right of the outside circle. So….. carefully take the panel apart by the plastic release clips. Might break one or two. Pull knob off front. Takes a good pull and wiggle. Now I am not recommending this so do at your own risk. Set the panel on a towel on top the washer. Connect all connectors. Plug in and carefully press power spring. That worked. I put some foil tape between spring and panel. I used 3 thin layers of tapes you may need more. Now it works and it works after putting back together. Hope this helps. Saved one more from the landfill.

We bought a WT7300CW at Home Depot, and took the extended 3-year warranty. Within the first year the control board blew out and they came and replaced it. It's now happened again. No power. So, we'll be without a washer while it takes 3 weeks to get a repair person to come out and fix it. I would not recommend this machine. This is not a solution. You shouldn't have to unplug your machine to get it to work.
@Schweigardt

this will sound silly, but try using a very light or soft touch when touching the power button. we had a repair technician come out to do a quote for an extended warranty and he basically identified the power button wasn't working and said we would need a new control board, without even opening up the housing. But ever since he came, I decided to use the soft-touch method and it has worked ever since, with no unplugging or repeated pushing of the button.

Thanks for sharing Cyberskimps! I have a similar model. I lost power after a heavy load. For me, I believe that the power line going into the back of the machine got loose! I wiggled it and it worked! So I unplugged the power and then I opened the back panel only by removing 5 screws to access the inside. I masking-taped the power line down onto the machine to secure it. I saw another black power line going into the drum moves a bit precariously, and so I zip-tied it too. I guess that the power line got loose somehow during the operation, i.e., especially after a heavy load and the machine has an automatic shutdown. Hope it helps! Best.

Had this same problem start on mine 2 months out of the warranty period. I did a hard reset which is, unplug, then press and hold both the power and start buttons at the same time for 10 seconds, then plugging back in, this seemed to fix, but has happened a few time. I just added a surge protector on the outlet to see if this helps. In a few other KZbins, a person noted the power plug filter or the mother board going out, and i'm wondering if the power filter is causing the issue to the mother board. It's been over a week and it seems the surge protector has helped from having to do hard resets on this washer.

I’ve had this washer for exactly 4 days, and this issue has already happened twice. The first time I needed to wait a full 24 hours before I could return washing my clothes, the second time happened again and this strategy of holding down the power button when the machine is not plugged in for five seconds worked. It is in my opinion that this machine is clearly poorly programmed in resulting a fault in their system

Replaced the power board and the noise filter.. my son came home from college and had it fixed in 5 min... he took the ground wire off the frame and sanded it down real well and reattached it. But then I did this (unplug and leave unplugged overnight) - HAIL MARY hopeful!! Next morning - I plugged in (thinking -- no way - I"m screwed) but it turned on like nothing happened. We had the same problem, nothing worked. Our LG top loader is digital. The washing machine would not power on. It was three years old. We unplugged and plugged it back in several times and sometimes it would turn on, but mostly not. When it did turn on it worked great. We removed the pretty button picture panel ( not really sure what to call it) on the front. It's sort of just glued on. We didn't take it off cause the knob would not allow for it. Honestly we had the whole damn thing apart. This was our last step. The touch buttons all have this tiny metal strip on foam push button. The power buttons metal was worn off. The washing machine worked when the power button was pushed. So we just drilled a hole through the panel so we could push the button. You could probably fool around and try to replace the metal with foil, but we were just tired of messing with it. So...yea, the touch sensitive part of the power button was worn off. Its not directly under the power button, its 1/2" to the side. If you can't detach the front panel, or don't want to, get a Dremel or something and carefully cut the power button out. Don't do this if you don't want to deface your machine. This was our way to save from buying another machine, expensive parts that weren't needed or pay for repair service. There's no mention of this issue on the web so I thought I would share our experience.

But after further observation, it seems the power button on the motherboard sits to the right and not centered like it should be. I grew all kinds of frustrated. Here are some simple work arounds , not fixes, that work for my LG- WT7300CA Top Load Washing Machine. If your machine has been left plugged in for some time and it won't start by pressing the Power On button - then there an electrical charge remaining on the Control Panel which is preventing the Power-on function from working. Since there are so many cases like this over a broad spectrum of LG models, it seems to me that this is a common fault in the control panel design. You can either 1. Unplug the power cord and wait for 30 minutes or more for the charge to dissapate, or 2. Unplug the power cord and touch the power cord contacts to a damp (not dripping) cloth for 10 to 20 seconds, which will cause the charge to dissapate virtually immediately, or 3. When you are finished using the washing machine, unplug the power cord and leave it un-plugged until the next time you need to use it.

Ours would not work this morning. Normally unplugging it lets it start working after awhile. Not today. Someone stated the hose could be clogged. I disconnected the hoses and pulled out the little screen filter and soaked it in some warm vinegar. I rinsed the filter and placed both back in and it worked. For a little while. Our LG TV is much better. So is the dryer. But the washer is a pain.

This is really frustrating. This has been happening randomly on our 2 year old machine for months. The hard reset LG suggests doesn't work so I'll try the unplug for 24 hours but isn't this ridiculous? I need to wash clothes, an $800 washing machine should work. I'm sounding like a cranky old stereotype but my parents had the same washing machine for 30 years and it never had any problems. LG should do a recall on these machines, it seems like it is a common issue and you can't even comment directly to them. It is up to us to give them poor reviews I presume and be stuck with the machine that is totally unpredictable.

So I gave the spring a little tug and put it back on and bam works.

After waiting for a week for the service rep to show and tell us that the washer was the subject of a "recall" for the power control module, I unplugged overnight ala Cyberskrimps, (thanks CS) and finally got some clothes washed. What galls me is that the LG rep had my model number and serial number and, aware of the service bulletin, did not dispatch the repair guy with the part necessary. So, now another week to wait for the part. Total time for the repair, 14 days. (Hopefully). Totally unacceptable. The worst part is that this is the new now, now. Makes me appreciate the gasoline-powered Maytag my grandmother had.

If your sound part works and you have a red light on your motherboard then it’s the metal wrapped foam connection from your motherboard to your display that has gone bad. I just pulled it off and made a tin foil pillar to go between and it now works better than ever.

You should check the level. Usually installation is done incorrectly. That causes you to push harder and the foam behind gets squished. It’s an installation issue. We had the same problem. Sears did wrong installation without leveling it. Many repair guys don’t know. They say to replace the expensive parts, which last 10 yrs. It’s the foam. Find someone who is specialized in LG Samsung machines. You can’t call the average car repair sho guy for a Tesla. All they say is to replace the whole electric board.

@@khamisahismail4182 Just odd that if you first press the power button for 5 seconds before pressing the start button, it keeps it from working. He said it didn't work when pressing the power button and then the start button, but works when pressing only the start button by itself. That would indicate there's some logic process going on even with no power, rather than a discharge of a capacitance charge, which should have occurred whether or not the power button was pressed first.

I’m not talking the turn bottom like this one here. The machine works good when washing. Unfortunately I’m going to call tomorrow for a return for another one I guess. Just wondering if anyone ever found a solution. I have the WT7300cw and i just had it a year so of course the warranty period is over. A couple of months after getting the washer it started acting up , well i live in an older house so I figured it was the outlet that needed to be replaced.... so I did that. Well, the sparking everytime you plug it in had me concerned so I thought maybe the burnt outlet caused a issue with the power cord ( it was a little burnt on the ends ) so I replaced that....... still did not fix the issue..... I have done the hard reset numerous times and still does not cut on all the time..... left it unplugged overnight ... still did not cut on.... I am literally about to pack this washer up and send it to LG and buy another one.... it is sooo irritating. I am at my wits end. I called LG about this issue and they pretty much told me that the warranty period is over and ALL they were willing to do is send a repairman which was going to cost over 130.00 for the service plus parts plus this and that....... i just do not know what else to do.
