Now if some company would make a OLED / QLED 32:9 matte display screen with a high enough PPI and color accuracy for design work, LG's curvature and Samsung's minimalist design, we'd get the best of both worlds for editors / designers.

Huh?! It's a blessing to b se rid of matte displays finally. Having a glossy screen is definitely not a disadvantage because the matte finish ruins the clarity of it. Also, Samsung's normal curve is nearly as deep as this but for whatever reason, they decided to go with 1800 instead...

My thing is that you can basically do the same ratio on samsung as lg if the game doesnt support it. If the game supports 329, great! If not, do maximum ratio you can. Also, 4:3 sucks for youtube, web browsing, and such. A lot of web designs are fit for 16:9 ratio. No matter the gaming/productivity, samsung has upper hands just because they can offer greater ratio. I ordered g9 oled and getting it today. I game, video edit, watch youtube and all for me to have 4:3. My friend had(emphasis) lg45" ultra gear and he hates it. Only plugs in for specific games and he is about to order g9

I have the original Samsung G9 49" and I'm debating between these 2 screens. I have a high end PC so powering the Samsung screen has never been a problem but I do feel while gaming I need to literally turn my head left or right to see my health bars or things like that. I am used to some games just simply not supporting ultrawide so that's really not a deal breaker for me. What would you guys decide to do?

I would say get the Samsung and then stack the LG above :) jk. I do believe LG is the one if you're not using it for work. I personally would get the Samsung, but that's because I would use half the screen for work and the other half for my personal PC.

Thanks for the great comparison video. Now, looking at both monitors side by side it looks like the LG has more vertical screen then the G9 ? the LG is taller or it´s just my eyes ? Last week I ordered from Amazon a G95SC for 1189€ I haven´t received it yet, I will be using it mainly for gaming. Maybe I should have got an LG instead 😅

The LG is 46cm Screen height and the Samsung 37cm

The LG Is mildly taller than the Samsung. Its basically Taller Vs Wider. Samsung is effectively two 16:9 Screens compared to LG. I've got the G9 and had the chance to see it side by side LG on a showcase..I in my case prefer the G9 because..I dunno the color stands out a bit more than the LG IMHO My room is pretty dark so its perfect for me more or less. Though i would have preferred a more aggressive curve.

I’m going to try the G9 it’s wider and glossy screen stands out more the colors. Also better PPI. My room is also dark not afraid of reflections. Does the G9 come with an FPS counter ? Game bar 2.0 any good ? Also does your G9 gets to hot after 2 or 3 hours of intensive gaming ?

@@3do2Gamebar 2.0 is okay, honestly just tells me what i need to know. Fps, VRR, display ratio and resolution. Pretty easy to swap 32:9 to 16:9. If you got a samsung phone, smartThings basically allow you to use it as a remote too. It does get warm but not noticeable unless you touch the screen. Its not HOT persay, just like a mildly warm heated toilet seat. But you honestly cant tell especially when youre in a room with an AC. Your pc would probably output significantly more heat than this. Not many people know this but it also lets you calibrate the monitor with your phone. Its not the best like a proper calibrator but its a nice hidden feature.

I have the g9 oled atm but i ordered the lg also and i get it tommorow hopefully. On g9 colors and glossy panel were nice but what i didn't like so much was that 1800r curve its almost flat so i really need to turn my head in some games. Also i think more vertical space is going to be better.

One thing that I have noticed about the Samsung is that since it's a QD-OLED it will be more prone to burn-in, and combined with the productivity workload it will likely receive (with static buttons and interfaces) it might actually defeat the purpose of such monitor. At this point I'm sticking to dual 16:9 for now, also because I'm using two 4K monitors and definitely don't want to lose that PPI, these two monitors can only do 1440p. I guess monitor technology simply isn't advanced enough for high-end OLED monitors to be a "no-brainer". I will be waiting for a 32:9 4K WOLED option by LG, if that ever comes up.

Your 50FPS on your 1050Ti is still going to be 50FPS on an expensive 240hz monitor. When those 240hz montiros comes out is the perfect time to get a 120hz because majority of people can't even push above that framerate anyways

Samsung g8 oled is the best oled monitor to date.. Not too big, decent speaker, qd oled, glossy, tizen os... Also i don't need 4k 240hz because it requires more gpu powerhouse

Poor QD Oleds just cannot display proper dark levels... Just by the thumbnail i could say that it was either an IPS or QD versus a proper black LG OLED...

That's quite inaccurate. Neither QD or White OLED rely on a backlight and can produce perfect blacks by turning off individual pixels. There is some merit to your claim in the sense that QD-OLED panels tend to suffer from the blacks gaining a purple hue when displayed in lit environments, but this is not something that occurs in lighting controlled environments. As long as you don't have daylight or lamps shining at the display, QD Oleds will also produce completely black blacks.

You should try and ask for the remote though, Im not sure why you didn't get one. Maybe someone forgot to pack it in at the factory but it definitely helps alot. You could also use your Phone if you have a samsung phone under 'SmartThings' and use it that way too. I would have loved a mish mash of both of these monitors to create the 'Best hybrid' but thats in a dream. For now that is.

47 inches long so it doesn’t need a big curvature to be the most immersive monitor I had ever owned, also must modern games support the 32:9 aspect ratio and is impressive, playing any racing game is like having a expensive multi screen expensive set up with only ONE SCREEN ….. In conclusion THE ONLY REAL THING THIS CLOWN SAID THAT IS REAL is the fact that you really need a POWERFUL GPU to run this monitor at the best of its capabilities
