I have close to 3,000 hours on mine and think the hate this monitor gets is unwarranted. While it’s not a monitor for office work (the lower pixel density is evident here) it excels at literally everything else. 21:9 is magic. Not too wide, not too tall. It truly feels like the sweet spot. Movies and games look amazing. Motion is fast and fluid. There’s virtually no input lag. The “limited brightness” is a non-issue and I often turn the brightness down. OTB color accuracy is great. No evidence of burn in after 3,000 hours. HDR performance is fine. I doesn’t get as bright and vibrant as other monitors, but it still looks amazing. I’ll argue that LG over optimized this monitor, which should make it reliable for years to come.

Hey, I've been really considering buying my first OLED ultrawide, but my main concern is definitely burn-in. Seeing your comment made me feel quite relieved as you've used your monitor for 3,000 hours and haven't run into any burn-in troubles. May I ask what precautions you take to prevent burn-in? Things like a screensaver after x minutes of idle, certain wallpapers, etc.? Clearly what you're doing is working so I definitely want to follow the same precautions if I end up buying one for myself. Thanks!

3000 hours sound like a lot, but ultimately, depending on average numbers of hours of screentime per week, this may be as little as around 1 year of use. Even though I am looking forward to a 5k2k newer gen version of this screen. Burn in does remain a concern to me. My current primary display has about 15k hours of screentime, roughly 6 years old. My secondary displays, up to over 30k hours, up to roughly 15 years old. Generally speaking, monitors are extremely durable and allow for repurposing quite well. Whether or not OLED will maintain this same sort of durability, remains to be seen.

Picked this monitor up about a month ago when i saw it on sale at $1299 US. Just Wow!!! Coming from a LG 34" ultrawide, several years old. I did adjust my behavior when it comes to leaving it on. I manually put windows into sleep or turn-off the monitor completely, not taking any chances for burn-in. No issues with the dpi for my day-to-day work stuff. My eyesight isn't all that great so it's not an issue for me.

I would own one if it was 3840x1600. I know it doesn't seem like much higher, but that difference in clarity would make it's use in reading smaller gauges in MSFS2020 significant.
@ScorpioTech
@ScorpioTech 9 ай бұрын
Completely understandable, I can definitely see what you mean regarding intricate details like those in MSFS. I think it would either have to be a resolution bump (as you mentioned) or dropping the monitor size down to something like 38", but of course the size is part of the appeal.

If you want one today, I bought a Samsung S90C 55 inch TV. It allows for a 21x9 aspect in game mode which you use for PC. I change my resolution on Nvidia to 3840x1600 with 144hrtz refresh. The refresh is fine because even my 4090 has trouble pushing AAA games over 144 FPS at that resolution at high settings. This gives me about a 48 to 50 inch widescreen display with black bars on top and bottom, but since it is oled the black bars are completely black and disappear. The TV has VRR for AMD and Nvidia, and of course all the other TV bells and whistles. The challenge is that it has ABL which dims a screen over time, but that only affects you when browsing typically a move of the screen immediately brings to full brightness. Its no problem when gaming. And if you console game it looks fantastic with 2.1 HDMI ports. This TV has the new Samsung panel and is brighter than the LG monitor. In fact, I've found TVs used as monitors seem to get more bright than monitors. I assume that's because monitors are scared of RMA due to potential screen burn in.

For sim racing the 21:9 or 32:9 is preferred ratio as an alternative to triple monitors. Not interested in any single 16:9 no matter the resolution. High frame and refresh rates are top priorities. For me this works well on balance without having to upgrade GPU and more to properly handle a 32:9 49” or larger.

This is an excellent monitor, upgraded to it from a single 27" 1440P with dual 24" 1080s to this monster. Super happy with it. your 3080 will run this with ease, but the only downfall on you system is that ancient 9900k, it just doesnt have the HP to really push that 3080 to its limits. Not everyone needs to upgrade, and it may just work for your requirements. but if you got a 5000 series AMD or if you are just prefer to stay on intel, the 12900k would unleash that 3080 to max out 240fps in majority of games. good review overall

Couple quick things: -You are blocking your speakers tweeters and that's an audio crime!!! :) -Does the monitor turn on and off with your pc unlike the LG C1s we use as our monitors. We have to manually hold the power to turn them off and manually turn them on when turning on the pc. -Does it dim every few minutes to cool down? That is the biggest disappointment nobody talks about. Playing old games like Everquest, you cannot adjust the brightness in the game anymore thanks to Windows 10. In dark areas it becomes nearly impossible to see when the panel dims to cool down even though I have it very low brightness and low contrast. -Does it have Bluetooth that you CANNOT DISABLE like our LG C1s? When we upgrade our monitors it will be a fast IPS and not Oled. Good video though. Sound was plenty loud and footage was crisp. Thanks for posting.

Great monitor,but the low ppi and the matte finish ruin it,in lighter colors you can see little black dots and looks like someone rubbed vegetable oil on it due to the matte finish,other then that very immersive and fun to play on.

Hey there can you advise? I need a monitor for home working (I'm not a gamer). The 45GR95QE's screen height is perfect at 454.66mm but I need something slightly wider than 993.14mm ideally around 1200mm like the Samsung G9. Problem with the G9 is the height is only 365mm which isn't suitable. Is there such a curved monitor out there? The Odyssey Arc 55' is too expensive. Thanks.

Why do most reviewers of this particular LG Monitor say its not very good for productivity? Example: I game some, watch videos, but I am fully remote employee working 8hrs a day in front of the monitor as a production role. I would say 70% of my time is working/production reviewing spreadsheets and word.docs. Is this a bad monitor for my working environment? Thoughts?

I bought this 3 days ago and have mounted and re boxed it several times to return it. I currently have the LG C2 42 inch as my main gaming monitor and can honestly say that nothing comes close to that tv for pc gaming. But, I keep giving this monitor a try to see if with time my eyes would adjust to the PPI because it really is terrible but overall I would say its the only con towards it. I may keep it as I payed 999 at best buy and for the price its a steal in my opinion. What i would say is, if a game has supersampling, enable it and it really improves the overall picture quality by a lot almost night and day. I am going to make another attempt today to fall in love with this screen and if not I would just return it.

When I saw this monitor in person, i was shocked to know it was oled as it looked pretty bad. The resolution in that size combined with the aggressive matte finish completely destroyed the oled look.

I would have loved to have seen this monitor with a gloss screen, just to see how incredible it could've looked, but with other monitors I've had in this room the glare has been an issue (window behind where I sit), and thankfully it does a very good job at that. I personally still think the OLED looks pretty good, at least with the blacks/contrast, but yeah, it has nothing on my C1 OLED.

I game/watch videos about 50% of the time and the other browsing the web/researching. From what I gather, this isn't the monitor for me then. I currently have a Dell 34" Ultrawide gaming monitor and it's been great. But this looks incredible for gaming. Maybe the pixel density/fuzziness around the text will be an issue?

So hear me out, with Oled and the pixels virtually have no latency and refresh time is instant. It would not matter if you were running your monitor at 30 hz or 240hz. This is why I think they should start coming out with 240hz 4k monitors. This will give you the best of all worlds. In games that you can run 240hz it will look brilliant and games that run at 60hz will still look brilliant. If we were talking about IPS or VA then the refresh would matter because the performance of the panel will be vastly different from 30hz to 240hz. Color response, smerring, and color accuracy will all take a hit depend on what performance you are running your panel at.
