Wow. This is hands-down one of the best, perhaps THE best review of a monitor I’ve seen at all. Thanks very very much. I’m in the market for a new monitor and still thinking wether to go wide or 16:9 4k. I’m usually working on two laptops at the same time (general office work) so this particular model may not be the right for me due to the lack of pic-by-pic, but anyway. Still unsure wether 16:9 might be the better option. I guess _if_so then probably not a 27“ but bigger to have something close to 100-120 ppi which I consider best density for my eyes & distance to screen.

Many thanks! It does come down to personal preference - but I'd find it hard to go back to a 16:9 monitor.

Excellent Review. Own several monitors and have used many. Ordered this LG model before I saw your Review. £480 at Amazon UK. Five interest free payments for Prime customers so a "no brainer". Looked at several vendors and models. Problem being that there is no supply in the UK. This is my first UltraWide and will move a 32" 4K iiyama to my other desk. Plan to connect to Lenovo M720T Tower, Mac mini M1 & Chromebox. Plenty of speakers and sound bars. No gaming. Web browsing, general office stuff, video editing, iTunes, tennis videos, photo browsing etc. It's a UK Winter Project for personal use in my septuagenarian twilight years. Will update next month after using.

I was not aware LG made a 35 inch curved setup like this. I just bought the 34 inch version of this and I’m strongly debating taking it back. I will be using it in an office setting, with a lot of side by side split screen…I’d like to convince myself that the 1 inch difference isn’t all the much but I feel like it certainly would be better to have the bigger one for the same cost! Let me know your thoughts and great review sir. Thank you.

Great, thorough review! I just got a US version of this monitor (which I haven't opened yet) and was trying to decide if I should keep it. It's the LG 35WN65C-B, which does not have the USB-C but does have speakers. I will use it for work, which is software development, and general computer use. I don't do any gaming now but could see myself doing some in the future. (Probably won't watch too much TV on it since I have a large LG OLED TV.) I was thinking of instead getting the the BenQ EW3270U 4K HDR which you reviewed. I'm thinking now that the 4k resolution would be better for my over-60 pre-cataracts eyes. Would I notice a difference in text readability between the 109 PPI of the LG and the (scaled)140 PPI of the BenQ? Would the EyeCare features be a real value? I'm also considering the 32 inch IPS, 165k Hz LG 32GP83B-B which is QHD so an even lower PPI of about 93. What do you think? Thanks.

The overall screen quality is good but I've noticed a small gap between the plastic box case and the screen just under the center of the screen where the power button is... Is that something you also noticed or is it a quality escape ? Thanks :). I think for the price it's a great option. You could spend at least twice as much to get a decent IPS panel - I'm not sure it'd be twice as good. But if you want something with similar quality to your MacBook you'll have to spend a bit more money.

Congratulations first for your review! I am interested in purchasing an ultrawide 34 "monitor for business use (Office, mail, some management software), I am not a graphic designer. Since my desk is not very deep (about 73 cm), I thought of taking it curved, in your opinion is it the best choice? At first I was more geared towards an IPS panel for the best viewing angles. How do you see this VA monitor compared to the LG 34WN80C IPS model? Could you tell me if looking from the central position on the sides of the monitor the image remains good or the colors degrade?
@TheTechnologyMan

Thanks! An IPS panel would look a little better, but would be a lot more expensive. I use this monitor every day hours on end and find it more than adequate for me.

@@TheTechnologyMan Thanks very much! I also think IPS would be better, but it cost about 25-30% more. About the curved monitor, do you think it is better solutions for this ultrawide models? I've just bought one (35WN65C-B). There's a lot of space btw the screen and its bezel. It's even cambered at some points. Esp on the right side & on the top. Is it acceptable? Hi! Any idea how this screen compares to the Xiaomi 34"? I noticed that the LG has a curvature of 1800R while Xiaomi has 1500R. I'm wondering if this makes the LG more suitable for my needs, since I will mostly be using the monitor for studying, reading, and watching youtube, rather than gaming. They are the same price here in Sweden, where I live, so that's not an issue. Which one would you recommend?
