@MrSeanselleck4 жыл бұрын
You're awesome! I had come conclusion time and time again that Samsung was way too expensive or not as good of a upgrade and not worth the money compared to what I will get on a LG. I was a little sad to see the g series phone leave, but the G8 was a pretty great phone to have. If getting about a day and a half of use out of my G8 was not enough, the audio output from the main speakers are crazy! I'm assuming it will probably be the same for the v60, but the G8 equalizer will actually boost your audio, not just tweak which sound Wave comes across stronger. I mean the LG main speakeris actually too loud if you adjust all of The equalizer settings to maximum. I never really cared for a quad HD display, and on my G8 I have it dialed down to the lowest resolution. And the reason is exactly for receiving higher battery life. I don't really care about putting my nose up to the screen to try to find the separate pixels. I think the v60 is on point with several things, including the lower resolution display. Thank you for saying a lot of what I've been telling other people about LG being a great phone compared to Samsung. Usually, the Samsung guys will tell me about some top and specs that don't make sense to me, and are specs that really don't matter to me.

Personally I'd have taken the 1440p display with higher refresh rate. I think the dual screen concept is cool for a small number of people but that it won't appeal to most folks enough. I can see why LG did it, as they can't just keep making the same design and expect to get different results. But personally i wouldn't use the second screen much and have never felt the need for it while im making content on my V30+. I love the 1440p res on this thing and can definitely notice the difference.

I hesitated, but decided to pull the trigger on the V60. My hesitation was from the lack of high refresh rate, but considering I've been complaining about battery life on my phone, and the fact that many of it's competitors are dropping the headphone jack, I went and pulled the trigger. It'll be my first LG phone. The resolution going down doesn't bother me, because I have tested an S20 Ultra in stores and could not tell the difference between 1440p and 1080p, and that's a 6.9" display. The dual screen seems like it can be really cool for gaming. And the biggest reason I bought this phone is the BOGO deal on my carrier. The more I watch videos on this phone, the more I find it appealing. It's easy to complain just by looking at numbers, which I'm guilty of. But I think we're all aloud to complain when that number is pricing, and this year's Samsung phones are out of control with pricing. So I'm officially switching from Samsung to LG.

My dilemma now is that I need to upgrade from the Oneplus 5, now, disregarding the second screen case, is the V60 an upgrade worth the jump? Op5 8gb ram, V60 8gb ram, Op5 128gb storage, V60 128gb + msd card support, Op5 shoots 4k 30fps, V60 8k 24k (which I'd likely use more 4k 60 fps in the real world), Op5 faster charger + better battery tech that traps the heat on the charger not the device, V60 Qualcomm QC 4.0 slower than most of the competition and it heats the device while charging (looking at you battery degradation) my Op5 still has 2908mah of its original 3300 since June-July 2017 a 12% loss in almost 3 years of power use ownership. Op has a far better track record of software support, LG is redeeming themselves with the benefit of the doubt since the V50, yet to see consistency. Op can be purchased outright unlocked, LG cannot find unlocked device for sale have to deal with carrier crapware. The pricing LG has got it right, but knowing that the next galaxy note could come with faster ufs 3.1 storage which is 60% faster than 3.0 allegedly, I know that new note "20 pro" will come easily 2 times the price than the V60, but the curiosity of how that internal storage will play in favor of mobile content creating and editing and file transfers will improve adds to my hesitancy. The V60 as it is I feel it is a great buy for 2019, not quite quite 2020. While I admit that LG is the only option for high end sound support, the truth is that is a very niche market, I appreciate it, I use it, but I won't die for not having it, it's a major bummer, but not a vital deal (for me). So what to do? Which smartphone should I upgrade to? I doubt the Op8 pro isn't much of an upgrade based on its plausible (yet to be confirmed) value proposition. I'd honestly only pick the Op over the V60 over the battery technology, software support and the notification slider button that Op spoiled me with. I don't think their camera performance will have a major winner, and both of them killed the ultra wide selfie cam killing easy vlogs. And I'd only pick the V60 over the next Op just because of it superior audio support, mic arrangement, the dual screen case. Deep down I feel that this 3 year upgrade should've been greater 🤔 I'd love to go for the galaxy fold 2, but I'd rather have both kidneys over a folding phone ☠️
@SomeGadgetGuy4 жыл бұрын
Id still say a MAJOR showdown between LG and OP is hardware vs software. Since you're on an OP5, I'd be inclined to say stick with OP unless losing a GOOD headphone jack is a proper deal breaker. In general, LG software and performance for things like audio and camera are a solid improvement over OP, but that means using a custom UX, and likely more lag inbetween updates. The V60 is an impressive improvement from where we were with LG software in the V30 days. Though for many of your concerns, and some of the hardware perks for a Note, Samsung isn't THAT much better at updates. OP still mostly bests them, and OPs lately have been launching with fewer overall gremlins than Galaxies.
@williamaungleyraud4 жыл бұрын
@@SomeGadgetGuy yes, going Samsung would probably mean contenting myself with little to no software support, put that ufs 3.1 on a Oneplus 8t pro McLaren F1 edition Max 5g Ultra, and I'd go Op over Samsung any day 🤣 really wish Op would better their desktop experience more polished like Samsung Dex, but Op has already spoken on their forum they have no intention on working on it at this time around.

I'll be curious if it matters. UFS3.1 hasnt made much of any difference in any of my testing. Storage benchmarking, the V60 wins over my OnePlus 7 Pro. Video rendering and production, LG took top spots last year, even against my OP7T with the 855+. I think the only place it MIGHT make a difference is in USB file transfers to a PC. But in daily use, I haven't found any consistent wins for faster storage.

Amazing Review I had the v40 and was looking if it worth getting the v60 over the v50 but i heard no 1440pfir the v50 was concerning for me and no one else seemed to cover this in depth
@SomeGadgetGuy3 жыл бұрын
It's all pros and cons. Dropping down to 1080p wasn't as much of a sting when we could also add a whole second display. As for many of these questions, it all depends on what you need/want.
@failedpayments88933 жыл бұрын
@@SomeGadgetGuy Thank you for respoding its awsome but i do have to ask since the v60 also is bigger does run at 1080p at 6.8 does 1440p on v50 look any better i just want the sharpest display, which one do u say looks better to u personally

I can see a difference side by side, especially since i usually set my font to the smallest pitch, but I can't say that will affect all users depending on how you use your phone.

How does the v60s display look side by side with the v50? I'll admit I was mildly concerned about that big of a phone having a lower resolution display. But I bet that helps battery a lot especially with that big of a battery.

The A was the V60. I can tell by the way the photo on B is heavily processed and darker in areas that shouldn't be THAT dark. Am I wrong? Regardless, I think A was nicer.

I think A is the V60. Looking at the mic(?) shots, A has more grain and it's sharper than B. I can read the model number on A.

Anybody knows why MKBHD and other major reviewers don't review this phone? I don't like this kind of behaviour. If this was an iPhone, Samsung, OnePlus, even the unboxing videos would be uploaded immediately...

From my experience with cameras and my v50, or v45, I will have to say B is the v50 as with my personal experience the telephoto is normally blurry zoomed in.

The 1 thing I have yet to hear in ANY review is regarding the military grade durability - that was my main reason for jumping on the V train and my 10, 20, and current 30 all had that tank-like durability. I just wanna hear it confirmed that the 60 has this as well and I'm SOLD!

I have a few questions: What about the fingerprint sensor? On the V50, it was on the back and i like to use is there in my V40. But the V60 has the sensor on the display. Do you miss the sensor on the back? What about the ultrawide camera? Because the V30 has 13MP, the V40 and V50 has 16MP and this was an improvement. The V60 has only 13MP. I would love to see a comparison there. The 13MP has to be worse than 16MP, right? Because if you zoom in, 13MP will be worse than 16MP. I think the V60 now supports USB 3.1(or now 3.2) instead of the V40, right? Is there an improvement if i connect the phone to my PC and transfer files?

Still using my G6+, i like it when the fingerprint is also the power button, and the buttons on the side is only at one area. But this v60 development is great. Im just hoping they get to be quicker on sending those software updates on the new phones if there is.

Would you recommend upgrading from the G8? Keep in mind I'm mostly going to use it for music and video streaming, navigation and some light gaming.
@zerokiryu63304 жыл бұрын
I just upgraded from the G8. I would say that given what you are using your phone for, most of it is not needed as an upgrade. However, for video streaming, the sound is a billion times better. Rich large video and a shocking amount of bass coming from a phone.

Th anks for your videos I have been using LG since a I discovered the g5. I only buy used phones that don't cost more than 150 dollars and for that nothing beats LG. I just got an G8 last week for 120 dollars thanks to your videos. I wanted to get a v50 but the cost like $300 and there is not any at&t ones available. I am from Chile so I need to unlock the phones. Thanks for the video

The V series has always been great, LG needs to put more into there marketing to compete with Samsung and Apple. I just feel like that's where they drop the ball, because the hardware has been great. I also think there are a couple KZbin influencers that have hands in the pockets of Apple and Samsung, but LG doesn't seem to have payed those guys off yet to get the recommendations.

LG V60 or Black Shark 3 Pro. I'm buying a gaming-multimedia phone. Do I get the dual screen multi-media juggernaut, and stick to Full HD 60hz? Or do I get the giant screen 90hz monster with actual physical buttons.

I was so waiting for your take on V60
@farishanafiah84614 жыл бұрын
For someone like me who never owned LG, this is a tricky one. The V60 has the latest Snapdragon 865 chipset and a mammoth 5000mAh battery. Yes the screen is just FHD+ compared to V50's QHD+, but that means longer battery life. However, I actually prefer the V50's DualScreen case. Yes, it doesn't have secondary screen at the front and the second screen itself is not symmetrical to the V50's screen. But the V50's pogo pin solution means that the USB-C port is totally free for me to connect anything. The V60 relies on a magnetic connector, and just imagine what would happen if you accidentally lost that magnetic connector. Hmmm... 🤔

Thank you so much for this review. I really couldnt see spending the money that Samsung wants for their phones. I am clearly looking for value and real world performance for daily tasks like emailing, scanning documents, talking on the phone, and texting at the sametime. Moving on from a HTC U Ultra that seems to be having memory issues but otherwise did the job!

I'm probably LG's biggest fan from Nigeria, never owned any of their devices and they don't sell them hear, still hoping on getting a used G8 on eBay next month to start making my own videos. (I'm inspired by you and a few other KZbinrs). You make the best reviews, you, Eric from Easy Computer Solutions and Matthew's Tech made me love the LG's. P.S. I tried to get on Patreon to watch a full clip to master the manual cam modes but couldn't afford it 🤣 Dollar to Naira is something else and I'm not working. But will join that ship when I can. Rock on man.

@kevinpitts35484 жыл бұрын
Yes but they will not match the high specs. They are following Google's lead and will make the g series with a mid range processor....and other mid range specs. Qualcomm's 5g modem is not integrated into the soc, so they will probably go with 785 (dont remember exact number). It has a 4g modem integrated into the soc.

I just got a V50, partly due to your praise for it, and the way I see it I think that the V60 might not have been the phone for me had I waited. I upgraded from a Pixel 2 XL, from necessity otherwise I would've held onto it (and I'm currently not impressed with the pixel line). I LOVE having a fingerprint scanner on the back, in screen ones are a gimmick, I don't really like face unlock that much. I don't care for a dual screen, though the option would've been nice. You're right about how overpowered our smartphones are so despite having a better benchmark scores, I'm sure day to day use would be largely the same. But damn, there really is no replacement for displacement when it comes to battery, and even then the V50 battery is pretty solid. As for photo quality, if we're going with auto, why not just side load the gcam app for the V50 and have more hardware at your disposal? At the moment I don't think I'd swap my V50 for a V60, but that's just me. Marginal improvements with some changes I don't like but obviously still a great phone and nice to see the price being more competitive.
