It's not easy to accidentally pull out the manual drain hose at the front side, but if this happens there is not much you can do but schedule a service visit, because without this hose the water will simply flow out in the base onto the floor.

I believe you have a washing machine version with an emergency door open mechanism. Please follow the owners manual and ONLY use this mechanism in case the door stays locked after for example a power outage, but ONLY after draining water via the drain pump filter (keep a bowl and towels ready).

The small drain hose in the lower left side on our front loading washer that is used to release residual water has somehow retracted into the machine. It was previously clamped onto the wall behind the drain pump filter compartment. Only the cap was protruding from the hole and when I pulled on it, the cap came off and the hose disappeared. How can I find the hose? Thank you

No flooding? I think you may need a technician. If you feel comfortable you could take off the screws at the filter location that hold the filter cover. First of course unplug the appliance and drain the water through the normal filter. When you take off the screws you can take out the filter cover and should be able to put back the black residual water hose. Good luck!

No flooding because I didn't use the machine after the hose disappeared. I took the filter cover off but still can't see the hose to pull it out. If I take the screws out of the front of the plastic bottom plate I might be able to see it. That seems easier than taking off the whole front of the machine.

Really depends on how well pockets are cleaned, but we typically advise tihs every 6 months to a year.

You can find differences in your owner's manual, including the type of clothes to dry. Washer-dryer generally reach somewhat higher drying temperaturese than heatpump tumble dryers, so please check the clothes label first. The low temperature program would best suitable for drying at lowest possible temperature.

yes it does, otherwise water can and will escape because it's an open connection when you turn it open.

That is unfortunate. We always advise to first try the manual drain hose. If no water comes out of that at all, it is likely that this hose is either pulled forward too far or something is stuck.

Is it possible to open the machine more? Because the wool filling of a pillow i washed came our during the wash cycle and there were thousands of little wool pieces in the machine. Of course i removed them from the washing drum but i guess alot of them went trough the holes in the washing drum. Is there like a catch basin under the drum? Nice that you produce special washing machines with extra limited depth, i needed it because the washing room is narrow and i dont wanted a "top loader" machine. All other front loading machines i googled for have more depth.

Not by yourself, Best thing to do now is to do Tubclean cycle with Soda. kzbin.info/www/bejne/imLPaYGPdstqjM0, and if needed repeat that. After the first Clean, chack your filter again.

Difficult, but you may try with small pliers. If that does not work, screw open the drain pump cover if you feel comfortable. Before doing so you are advised to unplug the power first. Then you can likely catch the hose again and guide it through the plate hole. Good luck.

Somtimes people pull the hose too far out, and you block proper draining. Depending how your Washer is standing, there will be water in the filter housing.

No, certainly not. Around every 6 months is a good rule of thumb. Of course a lot depends on how well your drainage is, if you accidentally leave small items in your clothes' pockets and how often you wash (and even at what temperatures).

Please check if you perhaps pulled it out too far, because in that case it will be blocked on the rear side (you cannot see this). If it is still blocked then perhaps you can push the blockage out by using a rigid cord that can bend, say a electrical wire, but make sure it is not too sharp. If that does not help, requesting a service technician visit might be your only option.

@@LGSAE Thanks for your note. It turns out that the hose was kinked. But when it is pulled right out, it runs fine. So it's all good. However, I broke the machine down completely last night (never done that before!), and found the real issue. The drain pipe from the gullet of the seal, behind the drain holes in the same, that goes to the pump, was blocked with 'ten years' of crapola. It was hard as a rock; I kid you not. That was properly cleared & cleaned. So, now the machine has been 'tub cleaned' with a full cup of bicarb soda, it is brilliant. But as an aside, the t/c program is poor. It empties after only five minutes of cleaning with whatever product. So, I waited until after the thing first emptied, then put in some more hot water with another large cup of bicarb. Did a load this morning and the difference was huge. I should have trained to be a w/m mechanic. It's great fixing them up!

If they are not found in the drum or gasket, they may have ended up in the tub. I suggest you contact your local LG support channels, When when being taken into the spinning phase of a cycle the coins can hit and make a hole in the tub, causing leakages, thus floor damage.

Normally no, here you would get an OE error. Detergent not dispensing would be more related to the inlet, so IE. Check your faucet to be fully open.

This video applies to LG machines. The drain filter is to collect stuff such as coins, screws and other small items to prevent them from entering the drain pump. Clean it ~once per every 6 months.

Then you need to check if it is pulled to hard to the front, which makes the hose kink. If that is not the case, it might be clogged. A semi flexible cable (not sharp at the tip) may help (but is at your own risk!). You can of course always seek help from a repair tehnician.

Dear Alex, that is very unfortunate to hear. It might be that your drain tube somehow got clogged or kinked (which could happen if you pull it towards you too much). If no water comes out of the drain tube and you suspect that there is water in the base, either make sure you have a lot of towels when opening the drain filter plug or call for service.

Despite replacing the basket straight and tightening carefully it still leaks rendering the machine unusable. What is wrong? It “appears” straight forward in your video, but in real life is a watery frustration!

That does not sound well. Are you sure you turned the filter cap on straight? And also checked if the sealing is still intact?

I got the same problem. But note when tightening the filter doesn’t turn, so make sure to align the filter right before tightening. I got lots of water leaking and damage twice due to this. It’s bad design, the filter shouldn’t go in the wrong way.

You do not need to do this monthly. Once per 6 months should be enough, but the frequency depends for example on if you empty your pockets well, if there is a lot of (long) hair on the clothes

That is possible, depending on your model. Not all models have such hose. In that case you are advised to run a Drain program (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gICQooZnapVnY8k select until you see "1". This is drain only.) and open the filter afterwards and make sure you have a few towels ready, to catch any residual water left.

That depends on the construction of this housing. Some can be taken out, and you can retrieve it. Some models have a bezel that you need to take off before you can get to that hose.
