Update:
This washer has started leaking water from the detergent compartment despite routine maintenance. I believe the rubber tube which runs from the detergent drawer to the drum has a clog. Since my machines are stacked, I cannot get to it for cleaning or replacement. LG has not said if they will cover this repair. Be advised.

Do you have any problem reading the control panel? That was the only complaint I saw people talking about.

How do I manage the time? I use normal and I always get 1:30 or 2:00hrs?

Well it's automatic, but you can do a quick wash which takes 15 minutes. I also noticed that bedding is a shorter time than normal. I haven't used to app too much, you can do custom loads from the app. I'll look into it and get back to you

So I'm actually glad you asked me this. Because I had stopped using the app and was meaning to reconnect it. The app has downloadable wash options, like half load, and single items, denim, gym clothes, ect. I've actually been missing out! You then down load the selected washer cycle to the wash machine and turn the dial to select Downloaded all the way to the right. Half Load and EconoWash have a clock on it, so maybe they are shorter? Large loads take longer because it's water efficient. My loads take about an hour, but I swear it seems faster. Water pressure makes a difference too, the faster it can fill the faster it can get to washing. Again thanks for asking me this :)

i have the same washer if you select light soil the time would be less normally my cycles are 1:17 on light soil

but it needs the extra time becuase it soaks the clothing through tumbling so it takes a bit longer for the cloth to get wet

Lack of ability to see the display in ambient lighting is a major design flaw and is on a number of LG washer models.

Yes, that is usually how front loaders work. But don't worry your clothes are getting clean.

OMG. This is a terrible washing machine. Uses very little water. It doesn't let you use PODS at all (not unless you add vinegar to every wash) or you run a separate wash cycle immediately after the wash cycle using a POD - this was explained to me by an LG technician that came to my place to figure out why my brand new machine (just 4 months old) was leaking water - he said the new LG (at least this model) was designed with an "innovative" air vent slit in the back of the machine, for air to escape when closing the washer door (odd!) but instead, if you use PODS, even semi-regularly, it will eventually result in residue build-up and water will overflow out of the back of machine (he showed me a video clip from another recent LG customer with the same problem!). I couldn't figure it out because my unit is stacked and i don't have access to the back (live in a condo). The machine takes 2 hours on "normal" wash cycle and doesn't wash/rinse properly. HORRIBLE product, even worse customer service from both LG and Trail Appliances!!!!

It works pretty well, but if the load is heavy and unbalanced it causes vibrations and some shaking noises. This doesn't happen very often. I'd rather have them side by side, but the space wouldn't allow for it

Is the drum really tilting a bit upwards?

I am thinking to buy the WM3500CW next week. Could someone tell me the exact outer diameter of the drain hose where it goes in to the waste drain. I live in an older apartment and the drain stack is 1.5" diameter and cannot be changed. Will this drain hose fit in???? Help!!

Jasmina Broom its working great! Its not too expensive and i feel like it washes better than the Samsung. Its simple to use and doesnt have alot of settings but overall it does its job very well in my opinion. And the 1300 rpm speed leaves the clothes practically dry when they come out.

The words and symbols on the control panel are very low contrast with the black panel. The panel is also not back lit and hard to read except in a well lit room. The button lights are very bright washing out the words making it even more difficult to read on the panel.

I still love it. It took me a while to understand detergent needs. I've started using Tide pods and that seems to be better. It's just so easy to load, pick a setting, toss in a pod, or put in a bit of soap in the tray, shut the door and wait for the lovely melody to play. How are you liking yours? The only issue I had was with the app, it would log me out and then I couldn't get signed back in.

I reconnected to the app and I can see I've been missing out! You can download different washing programs to the washer to be more efficient. I tried swimwear last night and that only took 30 minutes. I'm going to be utilizing the app again. I liked how it let me know when the laundry was done. I don't need a reminder on my phone but my husband does, because I'm always telling him his laundry is ready AKA I need to use the washer so get your stuff out of it LOL

Who was the brainwave that designed and implemented the display panel.?! You can’t read it ,have no idea what it’s telling you unless you use a magnifying glass.why aren’t the graphics illuminated as well?all I know is it starts and stops.if you want to do a cycle change or add-on you literally have to put your face on the panel.of course there is no way to realize this untill you get it home and install the machine.this is a major flaw.and the wi fi part?FORGET IT ITS ABSOLUTELY BIZARRE TO TRY AND GET WORKING.I am not a dufus when it comes to these features but I had to call support numerous times and finally deleted it.not helpful in the least.
