Yep. This pack seems really lazy and half-baked (kinda like the Sims 4 in general). Another thing about tiny homes is that they're all pretty unique. By contrast, there isn't much variety on offer here and all of it screams prebuilt instead of bespoke like a true tiny home. Of course, making it better would actually mean adding gameplay elements and that would mean work...

I'm just going to join the chorus of people saying that I really liked this video because it reminds me of LGR content from years gone by. While I enjoy the current content focus of the main channel, I really missed stuff like this, where Clint just screws around for an hour in the Sims. Since he has to play the game anyway for review footage, I hope he turns on the camera like this more often. To me, this feels like what Blerbs is all about: off the cuff, behind the scenes content made randomly in between, and sometimes off the back of, more polished content for the main channel.
@ipadmcgee8524 жыл бұрын
Just to add a contrary data point, this kind of video does absolutely nothing for me. But I have nothing against them. Assuming they don’t take any time away from edited effort-videos.
@System-zu7np4 жыл бұрын
@Turquoise Cheetah They specifically said they do nothing for them in particular, the point wasn't that these videos couldn't be interesting or entertaining but to simply provide the counter argument that some people don't want to watch an hour of unedited gameplay. Which is a valid stance to take, some people don't have the time to watch an hour of content when they could watch 4 different high quality videos instead. I 100% understand their position and while I do have the time to watch something like this not everyone can. Answering with 'but they do entertain us' adds absolutely nothing of value because no one ever doubted that some people find enjoyment in this content. But that it shouldn't detract from higher quality content. /Rant over PS: I'm aware this comment doesn't add anything either but such is life, full of pointless struggle.

Man, I get that burning may have seemed quicker, but I probably would've just locked him in the bathroom and then triple-sped things until he starved. Less messy. Also, Murphy beds are a lie. They take up a literal TON of space. The main reasons you pick a murphy bed in real life are if you don't like sofa sleepers or loft beds and you feel like moving things around every day to make use of the "space" it gives you when the bed is up. In terms of actually giving you more space to work with, I like loft beds better. Depending on the design, you can use the underneath part as office space or a crafting area or put a loveseat under it - it actually has spatial functionality and doesn't have to be moved back and forth every time you want to use said space. If they didn't include any of those in this stuff pack, they seriously missed out on a good opportunity.

I know this isn't the review, but this shows exactly what I was afraid of when I saw this expansion pack. I hate Sims 4, but I got it for free a while back when they were giving it away, I got it so when the multiplayer mod gets released I can play with a friend that still enjoys Sims 4. But when I saw the video for this I was excited and thought maybe I will finally buy something for sims 4 and play it, especially considering it's only 10 bucks, but I was also immediately worried, were they just going to add some tiny living type stuff into the game, but don't actually make any of them really usable and yup, looks like that's exactly what they did, they just give us some items, but made no attempt at making the tiny living really a thing. It's so sad Like when you were working in the bathroom and thinking about where to put a sink and gave up, I was thinking why didn't they include one of those toilets that has the sink built in on top of the tank? or how about a table that is stuck to the wall and you collapse the legs on one side to collapse it against the wall? But no, we get none of those things, what a waste.

When I was looking for my first place on my own, The estate agent showed me a flat that he had to let me into first as the hall was no bigger than a phone box, really. It was door door door door. On the left a room with a shower tray an curtain (no solid sides) the sink overhung the shower tray and the toilet only let the door open about 45 degrees. The door on the right of the phone box hall was the bed room... that is all, a bed room... a single bed filling the room with hangers on a rail hanging from the ceiling... once again bedroom door 45 degrees to get to the bed you had to shoulder round the door. Finally the door in front of the front door of the phone box hall was the kitchen/living room (sliding door that had a door handle so confused I thought as the other doors only open 45 this one might just be fake) I slid the door to find a single cupboard on top was a worktop fridge on top was a microwave and a cupboard on top to the ceiling, a very narrow cooker was against all that.... no room for pan handles, then a space wide enough on the other side for a kettle... the toaster was on a wooden shelf above the kettle... a little rotten from the steam of the kettle. A tiny sink (no drainer) was directly in front. Turning on the spot was a tiny two seater foam fold out sofa bed that had NO chance of being unfolded as there was just about space for your feet and the telly (a fat back TV as this was 2004) was right in your face and the window behind it... what on earth is the point of me telling you this? Clint: 32 tiles seems kinda a lot. Also clint: guess ill just have to stick stuff outside then. For the function of the Murphy bed, while it does take up the same space as an actual bed, the idea is that it is also a couch so it serves the function of two pieces of furniture thereby eliminating the need for one of them, also provides an open space for daytime activities that may need that space such as setting up a keyboard or something. So while it certainly wouldn't help to stuff 5 sims, a bot, and two pets in a house, it certainly has its uses in a two or three sim house. So while its not a fix for everything, it does have a solid place. In all seriousness though, I always love your videos, and it's really cool to be able to see all the effort that goes onto setting up and testing each pack. I feel like the sims team were feeling extra greedy and the murphy bed was originally made for university but they decided to sell it off separately in its own pack :/

I was already glad I subscribed to Blerbs. Then I saw an LGR Plays in my sub feed. Best news ever.

I think the problem with the Murphy bed is that in order to have the space be usable when it's folded up, a change to the game's engine would have to be made, and EA decided that would be too much work, if they thought of it at all. A huge part of tiny home design is modular furniture, but that seems like a real challenge to implement in the game as it is now. Maybe when they're putting the open world back in the Sims 5, they'll throw in real tiny home functionality too. (yeah right)

That whole "Pouffe" pronunciation attempt @47:44 had me rolling. Thanks, needed that today.

Guess that explains all that fire damage in the review.

You know it'll be a good LGR video when in the first 5 minutes there's a homicide....

One thing I think you missed is the buffs that you get for a 32, 64, 100 tile lot. Kind of amazing. Double skills, double moodlets, double relationship gain, double gardening speed. And if you’re willing to skip on plants and relationship boosts the 64 lot does everything but that. And it’s much easier to build for eight characters. I do agree that the new bed does not save space and malfunctions way too often however.

It's like their tiny house is just a repurposed concession stand. "It used to sell sno cones!, Now we live here!"

Oh man. I Never thought I'd see the day of a new LGR Plays. I remember the crustacean fighting and nuclear bombs on train tracks ;). Thanks Clint. For all these years. It brings nostalgic tears to my eyes.

Probably couldn’t put anything on the storage item because it was put down with move objects on and shouldn’t even be able to be put down there. If you move it, I would guess that you’d be able to put something on it.

Clint,I'm really digging what your doing here. I've always enjoyed the tech tales and oddware and your other extremely well researched videos. Blerbs is great because I feel the sense that your just more relaxed when doing these, and its still good content. It's interesting to me that around a year ago Druaga1 stopped doing his totally unplanned, lets fly by the seat of our pants and install this on this thing without checking compatibility or anything type videos and started doing more indepth video on game soundtracks and modding community''s. And here you are kind of making his old-style of video in a way. The "lets make a video and see if any one actually watches it" type of video. I dont know what I'm trying to say here, but thank you for doing what you do.

Whenever I design a tiny house, (5x5 at least) I always place the furniture on an empty lot first and then draw the walls around that. Is pretty effective, I found.

I love how your first plan for a bedroom was to 'hot-rack' your sims like they were on a submarine. Kinda want to try this now in Sims 2 or 3!

I find it a bit interesting how many times you got the "bed fail" animations in this video, because aside from my Sim's first interaction with her Murphy bed getting her killed, I haven't experienced any other fail animations in my few hours with the bed.

I miss LGR plays. This is great. This tiny living stuff thought doesn't work in the game because sims need so much more space to do things than people in real life. Why just jump another side of the bed? Why don't just get on the bed from the end of it, why the need for side access? Etc.
