LGR, if you want the guinea pig disease to happen, you have to feed it 3-4 times in a row. Then the cage will get dirty. Once that happens, you make your Sim play with the guinea pig several times (and bit multiple times). They'll die when the start coughing like crazy. I have a video on the guinea pig disease. Nice video by the way ;)

Once I realized that the Yellow potion reverses your traits AND that you can create a sim with no trait points, I had to see if the yellow potion could potentially give you a sim with all traits maxed. And yes, it is possible, and it's pretty interesting.

Exotic Butters true, but you still only have a couple of neighborhoods for all of the families you make. With the sims, you have 5 neighborhoods with 10 lots, plus more with expansion packs. Sims 2 you can make an unlimited amount of neighborhoods and places tons of different sized lots. Sims 3 you can have unlimited number of games with a huge neighborhood for each game. Sims 4 is definitely a downgrade.

It wasn't a prison in our minds back then because it was new to us..We didn't know about open world so everything was new and amazing. Looking back its crazy how much sims 3 reminds me of this one and sims 4 reminds me of 2. But overall I have to give it to 3 some far because of the level of customization..which is what I like the most.

While I try to take a balanced, less cynical approach to modern iterations of The Sims, you just can't deny how damn wonderful Livin' Large was and how it added SO MUCH DAMN CONTENT! I believe it almost doubled your options in Build and Buy as well as your heads and clothes. Sadly, the days of a very generous expansion pack are over, most likely never to return.

I barely ever got the Guinea Pig Disease cause I really loved the painting which stopped it. The fun thing is that they introduced a lot of the downloadable content on the website that was eventually was included in Livin' Large. Prior to LL coming out the guinea pig was available for download and included the disease. It wasn't until the expansion was released that there was actually a way to cure the disease/prevent it. Many players were quite confused why their sims kept dying randomly.

+Ludodave Yeah, but I'm going to play devil's advocate and point out that they liked them too damn much. Often a swimming pool would advertise so highly it would distract from just about any other possible interaction. Not to mention they hardly raised your fun, social or fitness at all. I recall reading plenty of game advice from The Sims vanilla era that suggested you avoid buying pools altogether.

Great video! Sims 1 had some sort of charm to it that just hasn't ever quite been recaptured in the later games. I still have it installed on my laptop and might have to see if it still runs... Just FYI if you want to get the guinea pig disease later on, make sure that the guinea pig's cage is dirty when they get bitten. If it has an option to clean, then when it bites the Sim they'll get sick. You'll probably have to feed it at least once before the cage will get dirty.

Yes! Do more! Also, the Grim Reaper won't show up when your sims die from drowning or come out of the skydiver without using the exit, but will show up when your sims die from either the guinea pig disease, starvation, or fire. :)
