I'm glad you made this video. I love when people with particular skills go out of their way to help others. A lot of people that are skilled at working with computer programs tend to turn into elitists, and look down on casual Sims players who would also like to mod the game. I can't stand when people do that.

Ah yes, in that respect they have that in common! Very cool that you can start out as a nomad and go through to the space age and beyond. Love games that do that, and some ways I like it better than Civilization, since it happens in "real time" instead of through turns.

@kazimann Yes, first click on the kind of product you want, such as "Men's" for men's shirts, between "Women's" and "Kids". Then click on the shirt design you want, T-shirt should be selected by default. You can then click on any color or color combination, black included! Sizing for shirts is also selected below the color picker.

Yes, I'm behind the times. I just picked up TS3 off of Steam last week. And, being me, I _neeeeed_ to have my Sims able to dress up in Babymetal gear. So, here I am. Learnin' 'n stuff. :-) Actually, it was your TS3 reviews that got me interested in The Sims again, so thanks on multiple levels. ;-)

It's the "Layers" window, which you can activate in the Windows menu or press F7.

@DerEchteMrHood Yup, that's the same creepy indie game! It's quite unsettling, to be sure, especially late at night with headphones/surround sound. You get used to it a bit, then something happens that makes you jump yet again. Awesome game.

@sicat27 I never had a problem with it, I don't know, it just worked. Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX and the .NET Framework 2.0 to run it without a hitch!

Actually disregard my last comment. The tutorial at MTS you linked to solved the issue for me and I was able to make a proper working shirt in Gimp Thanks a million for the tutorial.

It's almost nothing like Civilization as far as gameplay goes, as it's an RTS, so it's not really comparable. But it is an incredibly awesome game and I'm a big fan of it, especially being a fan of Age of Empires (it was created by ex-Ensemble Studios people).

When the white in your image is selected, you can actually use the lasso tool in polygon mode, hold control and a little - icon will appear next to the cursor. It will allow you to deselect the selection in your image you don't want to be deleted.

LGR I tried your tutorial, downloaded an image, got it onto a clean DDS of the outfit I wanted to modify, turned it into a package, and then when I go into the Sims it's not there... any ideas? Of note I don't have access to Photoshop soo I had to use GIMP 2.10.12. Could that be a reason?

There's no need for a pvr to record a pc. The best screen capture program I've use, and ive tried just about everything before arriving at this one, is Camtasia Studio

Would you consider doing a tutorial with Gimp? I can do it with Photoshop however I only have a 30 day trail for it, When I try to do it with Gimp I run into problems at the point you are supposed to delete the alpha channel and make a new one for the image you are using.
