The problem is that your teammates expect an occasional shield when they see you pick rein, just like you expect to be healed as a tank. Now imagine you are to go into these lobbies doing this challenge, and you get a dps only ana and/or mostly dps moira on your team. You're probably going to flame them for throwing, but just like you "they're trying a new playstyle". You can't expect to keep your sanity when you're not willing to compromise and are met with the same mentality from others.

If you're playing Mei and only walling off teammates or playing Ana and never heal teammates that's not even playing your role correctly anymore, that's not a "new playstyle" that's straight up throwing. He's in the frontline still taking aggro and while he's probably a lot more vulnerable he's still playing his role correctly. He's playing the same way he would if he was constantly suppressed by old sombra or broken shield. It's not like he's charging in a straight line towards them or jumping off the map due to some "new playstyle" You can accomodate for a tank taking a lot more damage but you can't accomodate for 0 dmg or 0 heals.

fr this challenge doesn't prove that shield is useless, it's that teammates (mainly supports in this scenario) can make up for your mistakes like he's just taking way more damage then necessary, then supports heal more and dmg less to make up for it (and can't enable dps as much so dps play more passively), that does not prove shield is useless bruh. i understand this video is a joke but some people are taking this seriously and it's just ridiculous lmao also why does he keep doing this challenge

Someone tried to do this before but they got banned just like you before they could finish their challenge. This is a very ruthless and spartan-like training that has a lot of potential for improving on reinhardt though. I feel like without a shield, there is only so much you can really do. As a result, a lot of your wins that pushed you over 50% likely come from your team compensating for the lack of your shield, while some of the losses would come from you lacking a shield and dying with no other real option. I believe you could get to gm but you’d likely have to experiment with different playstyles because I’m willing to bet there’s some weird one that would actually work. I believe

love the argument of "but I have a 50% winrate so i can't be doing anything wrong" bc like, how many out of the 1500 games would you have won a teamfight/game/held overtime if you used a shield? How many of your teammates would've lived if you shielded them from incoming damage. How many dps/supports could've lived if the supports weren't hardpocking you 24/7 and using all healing ONLY on you?
