What resin do you use and or recommend? Also You're my fave because your work is gorgeous AND you actually answer the comments! I know not all can be answered due to being busy but seeing that you do really makes you seem more genuine. Also do you do a top coat?
@LiaDiaDesigns3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you! This is an older video, the resin I'm currently using is Counter Culture DIY. I didn't topcoat this set of coasters, but I do in my newer videos...

hello you are amazing..do you have alcohol ink in the pigments?

Does the clear resin keep the color from completing muddling into each other? I have that issue when trying to create the geode effect
@LiaDiaDesigns2 жыл бұрын
not necessarily - what is the working and curing time of your resin? If it's a slow curing resin (16 - 24 hours) , the colors have a lot more time to mix together and blend. The resin I use has a working time of 20-25 minutes and a curing time of 8-10 hours... so it sets quite quickly, not giving the colors much time to blend.
@SalemSphynx2 жыл бұрын
I got that effect totally by accident (so prob wont be able to do it when I try lol) using 40min work/24hr set time epoxy in a 4oz little elephant shaped mold (sponge holder shaped on Amazon) & while the effect looked coolest at top of its head it did kinda resemble a brain LOL🤣 Was my 1st time pouring a 3D mold & i def used too many colors so the resin at top of its head def thickened up by time I poured it but just randomly kept layering clear resin w/alcohol ink tinted & couple different mica powder colors=fab result! Now just hope I can do it again haha
@lorismith41063 жыл бұрын
Very pretty! I’m going to have to try these. Is the white Pearl resin also from a mica powder? Love all your work.
@LiaDiaDesigns3 жыл бұрын
yes, the white is also mica
@feemij.762 жыл бұрын
Is it important to have some kind of solid (shell, stones, geodes) in the center for this technique to work?
@LiaDiaDesigns2 жыл бұрын
No... you don't have to put anything in the middle
@feemij.762 жыл бұрын
@@LiaDiaDesigns also, is it necessary to use alcohol ink? Or only mica powder (for both outer and inner layer) will suffice for the technique?
@melissarose36123 жыл бұрын
Absolutely stunning! I have tried to replicate the crackle effect but keep failing. I'm using a medium viscosity resin, could that be the problem? Should I be using a low viscosity?
@LiaDiaDesigns3 жыл бұрын
I use a medium as well... so that shouldn't be the issue... are you warming your resin part before you pour? There could be a few things that would affect it... but it's difficult to diagnose without seeing what your result was
@fullabrazil9555 Жыл бұрын
I used the same technique. Followed every step but they are all a failure. Can you help me with this? 😢
