Ohh! This is so beautiful! What a fantastic idea! Love the candy wrappers crunched because it gives it more texture and the leaf looks real. Definitely giving this a try! Will show you coasters I made from your videos when I learn how to use a hashtag. 😀❤️👍🏼❤️❤️

You could use a whole sheet of that plasticy stuff, either clear or the multicolor shimmer stuff, after pouring the base resin. Then draw your outline with a 3d medium. Next, pour each section with colored resin. Then the whole thing would have that crinkled texture, without having to cut out fiddly bits. This looks incredibly beautiful!

You're welcome to try that out! 😊 I really enjoyed the creative process of this piece and the technique I used. Also, I have a few other stained glass techniques I use in my pieces... this was just a fun one for Christmas time .

As a child in school we used to use these wrappers to make stained glass items in art class, we didn't use resin though. Quality Street is British, mostly bought at Christmas 😃😃

Very nice work! It's really nice that cellophane is available in so many colors already, but you have found a way to repurpose in such a beautiful way. And I truly appreciate hearing the how-tos on the lovely creations you share here. I bought some coloring books to use in a similar manner, since I can't draw well. They even have coloring books with stained glass patterns in them. I'm newly retired, so I'm looking forward to any happy hours ahead watching you work and learning. Wishing you a very happy new year ahead!

I love the idea of doing stained glass in epoxy. Honestly I hadn’t thought of doing that. But I’m really curious what they looked like from the back? I’m wondering if the ‘lead’ area would look right from that perspective? Perhaps if I trying putting a double layer of ‘lead’, one first and let dry and then the color then another ‘lead’ area? Anyhow thanks for the inspiration and if I try that, I’ll be certain to add it to your instagram story. Beautiful work!! 🤟🏼🤍
@LiaDiaDesigns
@LiaDiaDesigns 2 жыл бұрын
For the technique I use, the lead on the back looks flat (because it's paint sitting on a surface, plus you can see that the paper was layered on first) ... feel free to experiment ! 🥰

They turned out beautiful! I’ve commented on one of your previous videos on how realistic your stained glass pieces look. I’ve learned so much from your tutorials and I want to return the favor and teach you a little about stained glass, I’m a retired stained glass artisan. When you cut glass you never want to cut a 90 degree angle or a V shape into the glass, because that area will crack or break at some point. You did great on all of your break lines except a couple on the bottom where your stem is. Honestly no one would notice this.. except a stained glass artisan. :) I love how innovative you are! Thanks for sharing another beautiful design!

I plan to try the foil wrappers in a future project😊... I would definitely advise you test the waxy wrappers in some resin before you do a larger project... it may cause some strange reactions to your resin (ex. amine blush).... can't say for sure, but I would want to test it just in case

Beautiful and brilliant idea! Have you ever considered using food colour to tint the varnish and if that would work on glass as a faux stained glass project? Thank you. Ursula from Ontario Canada.

Thank you! I haven't actually... water content and fading would be a concern, but it could be possible...I have various colorant options for my stained glass technique (there's a video that goes through the options I enjoy using) ... but I'm always interesting in testing new ideas... I'll take a look into it.😊

I found this to be a very easy to follow video. I have been collecting the paper messages inside fortune cookies for decades. Do you have any ideas how I can use them? Also my favorite tea is Salada and they have paper tags with sayings. I’m thinking maybe in collages for tree ornaments or with other charms on necklaces. 🥰
