technically what Liam did was unique. driving that power and volume through the voicebox is not how you are ‘supposed’ to sing and it wrecked his voice. just try and sing like Liam - record yourself and you’ll realise how much you have to force it and it makes you lightheaded after 2 minutes. how he did 2 hour concerts non stop is amazing. the inflexion on the words is also an uncommon type of delivery. after a decade or more of having to do a terrible impersonation of himself he has now found a stable way of achieving 80% of what he had but he will never hit back to where he was aged 22-30yo

This is well before auto tune even considered. The attribute that sets him apart is that he is male and he sings with 100% diaphragm. All male singers nowadays follow the Disney theme of singing or whisper to sound tone apropos to the music the lyrics go with. If you ever try to sing a Liam song at maximum volume it is very difficult to stay in tune while maintaining that maximum vocal cord effort
@brendanpeahl70554 жыл бұрын
Just have to say this is definitely not the version on the record. I thought that maybe they did a bunch of processing on the vocals in the final mix but Liam’s timing on “in the sky” is different here then the version we all know. Still a great take it’s just an interesting observation imo

It’s not about weather it was the final recording or not, it’s about the fact that he got the whole song in one take just by listening to Noel sing it to him only once. It may not seem like mucho but this is extremely hard, Liam was/is definitely one of a kind.
