Liam's voice is beyond 'good or bad', it's ICONIC - not totally dissimilar to Bob Dylan's voice in my opinion. It's flawed, nasal, and 'sandpaper', but it tells the tale of his life - it has an honesty within it's actual tone. And to many people it's beautiful. If I were to critique his decisions at all, the only thing I would say is that a lot of the stuff he does live sounds like it could quite easily be dropped down half a step and would be 'thicker' and more comfortable for him if that was done. And I've thought that since post 2000 Oasis. But the guy is a Rock n Roll singer, not a fucking X-Factor singer and also not a metal singer - he should be compared vocally to guys like Iggy, Dylan, Hendrix, Lydon, Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Ray Davies etc... And anyone versed in the voices of the singers above will know that character, and flaws, and TEXTURE are what maketh an Iconic Rock n Roll voice - and those who don't get me, well, go listen to fucking pitch perfect singers and have a wank over that. Peace. J x

Apparently, Liam's fans get so defensive when someone complains about his strained voice. By age, every singer's voice will age. It's a natural process. Nothing to get defensive or embarrassed about. What matters is he's still pumping out great tunes & even sings live without lip-syncing or pitch correction techniques like auto-tune

He should continue touring with this format. It's a bigger sound than his normal shows. This "unplugged session" featured: Electric guitar, electric bass, drums full force, *one acoustic guitar* and a total of 9 people on stage. I love Liam and it sounds fucking great. But is this really "unplugged...?" MTV unplugged IMO should be acoustic guitars including acoustic bass, muted drums with brushes or other softer percussion (and maybe two backup singers if it's absolutely essential). Minor complaint...great show.

@josephmarshall65995 жыл бұрын
@@liamsayles8312 Um, no. He strains whether he has floor wedges or IEMs. I've heard far far far worse than this without the IEM. Fact is, and Liam fans for some reason often live in a fantasy world of denial, his voice has aged, and due to his style of singing he cannot keep it up song after song without straining and frequently singing flat (much less night after night). Plus he isn't a great technical singer. He is unique and has a badass style but awful technique (craning his neck upwards, singing from his throat strictly etc...). He has aged but he hasn't adjusted his technique for the lowering of his voice and this is the result. Love the album though and when Liam is ON during a good performance he is the best frontman living.
@liamsayles83125 жыл бұрын
Joseph Marshall I get what you mean however I’m not in denial. I know he sounds bad sometimes but it’s a combination of his thyroid disease which causes him pain when he sings and also the in ear monitors do play into the reason why he sounds bad. He can sing much better when he sings with headphones but the in ear monitors are shite.
@hutchklutch25945 жыл бұрын
He sounded much better when he ripped that monitor out of his ear. Watch MTV UK tonight at 8:00 9/27/19 Liam Gallagher Unplugged for a much better performance
@Madferit915 жыл бұрын
He sounds the same. It just sometimes sounds different because of the acoustics. MTV being much better. Btt in terms of voice, still pretty much the same. He hasn't started like actually proper touring yet. His voice is rested.
