Coffee with April

Күн бұрын

This week, we’re bringing you the latest video from a series that we call Home Coffee Brewing with April. This week we are in Hong Kong, meeting with the winner of the April Brewers Cup Singapore Edition, Liam Lam.
We believe that innovation in coffee brewing starts at home, and that some of the most special and meaningful interactions with coffee can take place within your own kitchen.
As we are frequently travelling visiting our international partners, we decided to introduce this format as a way to interact with you on a different level whilst maintaining the frequency of our videos.
We have previously featured Liam on this channel before, in a video in which he shares his winning recipe from that competition and joined Patrik on a Zoom call to discuss his coffee philosophy.
In this video, Liam is brewing two different Ethiopian coffees from local roasters Oma, one Washed processed coffee and one Anaerobic Natural. He uses an April Plastic Dripper, paired with April Paper Filters. He grinds using a Comandate hand grinder, and weighs his dry dose and brew water weight with a scale from Acaia. He ties all of this together with a water blend from Aquacode, and serves each brew in porcelain cups from April.

It did taste really good. The peaberry was one of the better Ethiopian Coffee experiences we had in a while. Do you have any other recommendations for Asian roasters?

His home recipe I feel like it elevates more sweetness when you wait longer between pours

Thank you for watching as always. It does seem to create a cup with more "structure" and that can be useful sometimes.

37:30 These long form videos are more difficult to follow especially with poor audio. I wish you'd post the recipes and summaries for each video. Get that book completed please!

Thank you for sharing. We had some audio difficulties lately, and we are looking over our equipment in order to try to figure out where it comes from. Summaries are coming up for future videos.

an external microphone would definitely help, even the sound is not quite clear... I got some information, the difference between washed and natural extractions regarding the temperature and grinding thickness... there are many videos on the Internet, but a summary of the techniques regarding the different coffees you have to put yourself together... otherwise I liked the video...
