The Geek waiter he says Frankie Did in Southport was Peter Johannides , ( Peter the Greek , family friend) card dealer at the Horseshoe Club ( Ted's Shed, a blaggard's den that fell into disrepair in 70's and is now an Uzbekistan run car wash ).anyway, story goes... Frankies having no luck and he's getting a bit of banter off the others and just out the blue, glasses Peter , proper coward job, and Peter was a well respected man with a fucking temper that was like a Volcano How that little bastard got out alive is still a mystery. The Horseshoe... only one bog and it had a corrugated iron door. Don't think for one moment that this was some glamorous setting. You'd find better on the Oregon Trail.

Very interesting interview, you really feel the hatred he has for Frazer. It is much more interesting hearing someone else's take on what happened than listening to someone blowing their own trumpet. I believe this guy. I have read two Kray's bio's but I recently read a book written by Bobby Teale, this is the guy who basically got the Kray twins arrested and banged up. Some people might call him a grass but read the book, if the Krays were treating your family like that, what would you do. It's very interesting and honest story. It paints a very different picture of the Krays than the one we all normally hear.

Or if they were being held. I could say a lot more. as I was there. But leave it to others. And let you all make up your own minds.

Fraser was extremely dangerous I don’t doubt that he was willing to go further than anyone else in a fight (like Tony Spilotro from Chicago) and that’s what made him extremely dangerous and was made criminally insane which is extremely rare. however I respect mason he is a tough man and to survive a wound like that where his hand is pinned to his head with a axe is unreal.

Unlike Fraser who was nothing more than a midget and got caught for everything he ever did . 47 years in prison explains it all , Fraser was nothing but a fall guy to be used . Eric was a true gent .

Fraser was built like a small boy and fought like a small girl. He'd use weapons on people as long as they were tied up and he had a load of bigger guys around him.One on one ? Not once in his life.A coward desperate to avoid work. Couldn't punch a hole in a wet newspaper.Really 'mad' guys have no control over what they do and when.He always weighed the odds up to make sure he wouldn't get hurt.

All these people talking shit about Frank after he's dead. Why not when he is alive? Answer: Frank made money from books, interviews and other things when it was a new thing for villains to do. By the time this lot got round to it, the whole thing is old hat, they have to give their their books away because they can't make money like Frankie Fraser did. This has made them very bitter and jealous, so they all got together and decided to discredit Frankie Fraser and at the same time get themselves 12 mins and 30 seconds of exposure doing it. The ONLY credible face of the era is Freddie Foreman who knew all of them then, knows all of them now and has not taken part in this discrediting of Frankie Fraser. I have spoken to Screws on prison landings in the early 90s about Frankie Fraser and why did his name scare them so much if Frank was such a lame piece or nothing? Note as well how people back up the story of each other so they in turn they get their "story" backed up. It's a circus and Liam Gavin is the ringmaster. I told this guy something about McVicar he didn't know but all he's interested in is the BS being said about "DEAD" people.

I'm confused by this - this documentary on Frank Fraser was made in about 2001 with Frank's full approval & co-operation - We filmed with Frank for a few days and with people who liked & disliked him. Eric Mason did the interview at the same time as part of the programme with Frank's full knowledge & approval (Eric has since passed away) . Frank was quite happy for people to be in the documentary who had their own opinions on him good or bad. Frank was his own man & didn't care - in the documentary people like Charlie Bronson praised Frank - others like Eric Mason didn't. This made an interesting documentary as there were different opinions about him. The documentary ran on SKY for many years - Thanks for watching & appreciate your comments.

***** OK Gavin. As long as Frank knew about it. He is still a legend in the HMP Circuit today and highly respected for the way he took on the system and improved conditions for everybody. I saw the piss bucket days, bed pack and top button and the toilet and sink in every cell days. The 4 to a cell days and the single cell days. The thing I told you about on the McVicar interview is about Jones breaking the knees of Frank because of his brother's death in Parkhurst. All these guys in their prime would in these days be known men, but they would not have a similar history due to all the grassing and police informants among their CO Ds.

Appreciate that - Yeh I knew Frank through my Brother who booked his first one man show & introduced me to him - Frank arranged for me to meet Marilyn Wisbey & others for the Documentary so took a very active part in it & I have loads of clips of his interviews that we did about his life some of which are on KZbin - others I still have to upload. Obviously I don't know as much as most people who have experienced Prison life I'm just there to ask questions & listen to people's viewpoints. I welcome anyone's contribution & enjoy listening to these interesting & charismatic people. Thanks for getting back.

I saw Frankie Fraser on a bus in the Old Kent Road a number of years ago (more than 10). He was a little frightened old man by then. Two "hard" boys went up to speak to him, and he nearly shat himself with fear. I put this down to him being an old man, but listening to this, it seems that possibly, he was only tough when his victim couldn't fight back?

@@Beesa10 Possibly. He was an old man when I saw him, though. I doubt anyone would be offering him anymore danger than anybody else is vulnerable to in London. I can understand what you're saying though - he was probably so used to thinking the worst of everyone around him.

reputations are built upon rumors! frankie Fraser kept himself relevant based upon spreading rumors , which to be fair is the same as the rest of these gangsters do , even happens today hard man image is childish, if you knock someone out thats makes you a hardman😐🤨 🙄 , fighting depends on the day , on the circumstances, who's involved the environment, all those factors can change a outcome , you can do something straight one night, to try and do the same thing the following night pissed , and be a different outcome 🤷‍♀️ Frankie Fraser was a charcter nothing more, he fought dirty by any means necessary to stay in his postion with certain people as he wasn't equipped to survive a legit normal life , Eric Mason is the better man he matured and realised what true meaning of life and happiness is your family and the value of your life . these silly men who float about as "hard men" all die lonely old men , they spend so much time in prions the outside world moves on without them , and then when released they hang on to the old days demanding some sort of respect, its fools game , truly enjoying your life seeing your kids grow up and being a postive influence on them is better than having a tough guy reputation hanging around bars every night or in and out of prison for the majority of your children's lives

I don’t understand how he never got to Fraser after that night?? Surely they crossed paths? Surely he could have found him even? Had someone done that you wouldn’t just “leave it”. This part of the story I struggle with. Frankie may well have sold a yarn about what happened and he may well have rejected the Krays help but it still doesn’t explain why he did nothing about it? All those years and nothing? He says in this interview he’s moved on but he would have been paid during this time for “talking about it”.x

What makes me laugh is that being a villan is all about fear and respect I have to say in most cases means the same. You look at Pablo escobar 70 billion dollars net worth. And El Chapo 5 billon dollars plus most probably no good in a straight fight. But you wouldn't want to cross them you and your family all killed in a most horrible way. That would be the worst case for anyone involved
