Aww man, I just replaced my old IMA battery with a Bumblebee pack, but glad the Li-ion option is out there for when I need to swap it again in a few years!

What's your review on it? Was the there other company's on your radar? Like green trek 3 year warranty I'm looking into replacing mine. To many issues with passing smog check

@@Fire91ful I looked at them both, they both offer three-year warranties and have good reviews. I think I went with Bumblebee because they didn’t for the core deposit up front. I did the swap myself and it’s been running great for about six months!

hmm I replaced the 12v agm battery in my chevy volt with 280ah of lifepo4 (~4kwh), and then added 200w of flexible solar to my roof to keep it charged up. my mpg went from 200mpg to 340mpg lol. weighs about the same, maybe 45lb instead of 60lbs. eliminating that parasitic 12v load (~500w) and having the panels make up for it during the day when my cars parked at work/home. last ~10 gal tank i got about 1800 miles on. i put the lithium battery in a month ago and havent had to buy gas yet but its going to be about 3000-4000miles on 10 gal again lol.

I love my lithium car... bought it already swapped and I'm so glad I did over another HCH. Its a clapped 215k mile car but I couldn't be happier knowing itll go another 100k after I fix the synchros, without worrying about rotting it out.

I've had my insight for over 10 years and was looking into swapping a lithium pack. The mod was cost prohibited in my case as I had access to a viable 2007 civic Si. Good for short term and sporty . However I plan a full ev conversion when the market gets saturated with wrecked electric vehicles. This is a great guide to this set up and appreciate the details and to keep these cars going.

Feels like question 12 was the correct verdict but not the precise reasoning. It deploys more electric power, but if it does not regenerate more as well, you would be depleting much faster than you got charge back. So the true cause of that increase in economy is not because you deployed more power (that is a symptom), but because you must have regenerated at a higher power and thus more of the deceleration was shoved back into the battery and not lost in the brakes. Side benefit, higher deployment allows the engine to stay in lean burn more often, which I am told makes a big difference to consumption too. If either or both explanations are correct, then as a prospective buyer, that gives me some confidence about this upgrade working exactly as intended.

Two thoughts....ONE it does regenerate more with the current hack, and since the vast majority of LiBCM customers add the current hack, that is the norm....TWO regenerating power back is not an issue in terms of economy because one can grid charge to full battery at any time or after any drive.
