Thanks for that information: I grew up watching Liberace, but I was quite young, under 10 years old, and yet the memory of the music and his oozing niceness is a rich storehouse in my creative head. Love knowing so much about it.

This was Liberace's "annuity"; Guild Films syndicated 117 half-hour filmed episodes, produced from 1953 through '56...and local stations couldn't scheduled them fast enough! At its peak, in New York, WABD {Channel 5} aired the show several times a week. Note the space at the beginning for a local sponsor to "telop" and announce something like, "Now, the makers of Randolph's Mouse Pellets....for a clean kill EVERY TIME....presents, for your enjoyment.....LIBERACE."

Wow, 1952.....my grandmother would run from the kitchen doing her dishes and crank up the TV volume when Liberace came on......I can't believe I remember it from 4 years old! Dang! What a pianist and showman!

Sounds like the opening piano melody is his own arrangement of Chopin's nocturne #2. I was only 11 when his show would come on, Sunday afternoon as I recall. A wonderful talent though the saccharine sweetness of it's atmosphere caused me to cringe a bit.
