@robappel2097 yes yes, I do remember that. I couldn't drive yet under obama's admin, but remember my parents outcry when gas hit over $4 a gal. I remember before the 2016 election he cut some gas taxes or something and helped gas go down to around low 3$ range and was bragging about it. I remember getting gas when I started driving under the trump admin and as u said, $20 would fill u a good 12 gallons or so. It's crazy how ppl complain about prices but can't put a consistent pattern together. It's there, it's obvious. The more we talk, the more ppl will see the truth

Gas prices under Trump were the lowest they'd ever been since my early teens. When I started driving at 16 (under Obama) the average gas price around me was $2-$2.30. about a year after Trump took office until the end of his term I never paid over $2 for gas, and usually around $1.50 or occasionally even lower. I remember at one point while Trump was in office a local gas station had gas for $1.65 and I traveled across town because that was "WAY too damn much" at the time.

The gas prices have always dropped around election time. I wonder why. The government has way too much influence over the things that affect our day-to-day lives. They should only be able to oversee to make sure that the people don't get screwed. I would like to see a chart by inflation adjusted prices. I remember when I had bought a new car in 2000 that used premium. I had to pay $1.5x a gallon and was stung by that price. Nominally it was lower per gallon than under Trump, but in adjusted dollars it was higher, I suspect.

I bought my 09 Corolla when Obama was still president. Why a Corolla? Because gas prices in Arkansas were over $5.00 a gallon, it was costing me almost $70.00 to fill up my doge a Avenger under Obama. God forbid you lived somewhere like California under Obama. I still have my Corolla, under Trunp it cost me around $18.00-$22.00 at most to fill my car from completely empty to full. Now it cost about $35.00...
