The Pontiac G8 does not come with an LS2, it is an L76 which has DOD or as I like to call it “death on demand”. I had a G8 and loved it, but if anyone is looking at one and it still has the stock valve train beware of it. A DoD delete and cam swap will fix the issue tho

Super rare - around 2,000 released in the US according to Wikipedia. I owned this car for about 5 years and drove it daily. Super reliable with minimal issues. Many people refer to the timing chain, but that is an issue with the S4 rather than the RS4.

Foreign alternatives- Lexus LS430/460; older Mercedes; Volvo S80 9:18 9. Car to Avoid: Lincoln LS 9:34 (Seems great, but a lot of owners seem to hate them) Personally I'd add onto these the late 90s-early 2000s BMW 5-series (E39) and the early-mid 2010's Hyundai Genesis sedans and the Equus (especially the 15-16 years), though obviously all three are foreign.

For foreign V8 sedans, there is no better bang for your buck than the Hyundai Genesis/Genesis G80. The 5 liter V8 makes more power stock than the SS (420-429hp) and can be found for 5-10k cheaper for 2015 models, even less for 09-14 models. 2015+ models also have better interiors than the SS, with some models being able to get updated to run Android Auto/Carplay. I almost pulled the trigger on an SS for 33k, but just couldn't pass up the 2015 Genesis V8 for $25k with less miles.

@twongreen9968 most of Hyundai's reliability woes are from the lower end models. The 3.8 V6 and 4.6/5.0 V8 are solid. I'm speaking from experience bc I've owned vehicles with both engines. I will say they can't stand up to abuse or neglect like an LS, but they are reliable.
