Government authorities in Libya are working on changing the image of the capital Tripoli as one of the most beautiful cities along the Mediterranean Sea.
The interim government is building new parks and recreational areas for residents traumatised by 10 years of conflict.
Al Jazeera's Malik Traina reports from Tripoli, Libya.

@albert einstien u don’t know what ur saying. Human trafficking happens on every corner of the world. There is more than 200 billion dollars of human trafficking happening and the USA has a big chunk of that from Mexico. Don’t act innocent. What was spread on the news about Libya was no different and only happened for a short time between a small group of people. You also have no idea that Libya was sanctioned by the USA which is why gaddafi couldn’t do anything for more than 10 years. When those sanctions were lifted in 2003 the government invested 100’s of billions of dollars into construction projects which would have made Libya more developed than Dubai.

@@A.Severan you may physically live there but your mind is on the seventh cloud of cuckoo land. Don't give me that blind patriotism stuff. I know all about it. I would a gree with you if you said there were posters of the ridiculously ugly self- declared king of Africa and extracts from his ridiculous green book everywhere. I remember going to a dirty beach in Tripoli where prople swam fully clothed and males kept separate from females at gun points. What an eyesore? I haven't seen that even in Saudi. I worked for an American company that was building very expensive greenhouses in a desert place called aziraa just outside Tripoli. What a waste of money? Those gringoes where laughing their heads off at the stupidity of the king of the flies who wasted billions on similar projects. Don't be blind to the obvious.

@@globetrotter5751 Libya was the richest country in Africa, the citizens had access to transportation for cheap, could buy cars for cheap, had access to welfare and good education. Gaddafi solved the homeless population, he irrigated the desert in worlds largest terraforming project by redirecting water flows to help reclaim the desert. He nationalised the OIL. You know child why Gaddafi was killed? Because he wanted to sell his OIL for gold dinar instead of petrodollar. Thats when they killed him, Gaddafi was the only one who could appease Libyan warlords and look at Libya today, its still in conflict, a conflict that may not end until another 10 years of fighting. When the election was a few years ago, the people of Libya voted in son of Gaddafi as next leader of the country, what happen then? He was arrested by terrorist NATO forces and put on trial. Gaddafi mistake was to not invest in good anti air defence and building nuclear weapons. That was his mistake.

Libya without Gaddafi will never recover to its past glory, Libya today is a wartorn country were conflict is still happening, all of this because the west wanted Libyan OIL, today Libyan OIL is being stolen by western Corporations, do they give the revenue to Libya? No, they do not, it goes into pockets of rich Corporate owners and their shareholders. Because thats how Imperialism works. Gaddafi will be forgotten, and the Libyans who turned against him and ran away with their tails behind their back when Libya started getting worse and worse, will forever be remembered as the Quislings of our time.

During the rule of the fasting martyr Muammar Gaddafi, may God have mercy on him, Libya was stable and secure, and its people enjoyed security and economic prosperity. The Libyans, and European, Russian and Chinese companies were contracted to implement projects to build hotels, residential, educational and even government buildings with the latest technologies in the world, but because of the hatred of the Arab Gulf countries, including Qatar, against the State of Libya, all those huge development projects were not completed and entered Qatar and its ally Turkey are on the line of destroying Libya by supporting criminal militias and terrorist groups in Libya in 2011 and to this day in order to continue the state of chaos and terrorism in Libya and caused the displacement, starvation and killing of thousands of Libyans, and all this was done with the knowledge of the Council Security, the United Nations and America without being stopped by anyone.
