License plate reader cameras praised for crime solving, criticized over privacy concerns

This is No More than Warrant less Surveillance, collecting license plate numbers, vehicle types, and facial recognition technology, is it also recording if your on your phone, or if your wearing your seat belt, and will it be enabled to automatically send you a ticket in the mail ???

lol they have these at HEB. I just installed these in about 30 San Antonio locations. It’s the big gray cameras. But they don’t only read your license. They read your face.

To argue that it’s an invasion of privacy is stupid. Under the constitution Joe public has the right to video tape or photograph anything or anyone out in public areas. Why wouldn’t the police have the same rights. They are not putting the cameras on private property and are only filming public places.

It's a unwarranted surveillance, without probable cause, recording of an individuals movements, that can & will be used against them no matter if they are guilty of doing anything illegal or not, tracking people for No Legal Reason without cause.

It tracks ur vehicle regardless of whether or not u have committed a crime, just because it also captures a criminal every so often is irrelevant
