Top tip when getting on the A1 from the A17 at Newark, take the Coddington exit, less chance of certian death at THAT roundabout!!

Stayed last weekend here for the first time. My opinion only and the wife. The site is very clean and tidy . Location. Is great for Matlock too. The pitches are huge. What’s not good are you need chocks on some pitches as in ours they’re is quite a slope. The other issue we found was the verges . They have put boulders there. Look pretty but we watched a caravaner run up the verge causing serious damage to their N/S. caravan . So anyone visiting be very careful. Hit and miss for us . But others may argue our points …

Good review of the site which looks lovely. I realise this is primarily a channel for caravanners but as a soon to be motorhomer I would like to know about nearby towns or attractions that are in walking distance , or maybe any public transport available. Just maybe something to consider for future reviews. Thanks.

It's a very well laid out touring park and your pitch must have been the largest there. We stayed there the week running up to lock down in March 2020 only four pitches away from you along the top. Hope you had a good time. Cheers. Rob

Morning Dave and Helen, Greetings from Fleggburgh. Just a quick message and update re Lickpenny. Having seen your video of the site we liked the look and decided to book several weeks ago. Just seen on FB today (22/08/2024) a message from Pam / Lickpenny saying today is the first day of their retirement having sold the site to CAMC! We have no further information though the FB post did say all bookings will be honoured!? I guess we are OK re booking and Pitch 9A?? Waiting for a reply from the new owners. Just thought this information may be of interest to those that are planning their first visit or have been before. Cheers, Mark & Julie

@@HelenandDave Not close no. We are Bedfordshire. It is however a very simple journey as it’s straight up the M1. We fell in love with Matlock before we got the Campervan as we love the vibe there. We used to stay in either the Red Lion or Premier Inn. When we got the Campervan, Lickpenny was our first ever site we visited in December 19 and we fell in love with it.
