This guy really knows how to play... Especially, that he is constantly playing some TRICKY parts :D

Teemu is an unbelievably good guitarist. He makes it look so easy, but when you try these yourself it's a fucking pain in the ass to even play them fairly.

4:21 I've seen some pretty gnarly covers of it, but when he plays it himself for real, I literally just drooled all over my keyboard. Wonderful

"so that. was. pretty tricky" is on par with when petrucci said "So I was at 200. Let's say that was difficult" or later when petrucci goes to like 220 bpm, is totally nailing it then fake fails and goes "that was very difficult".

+Scum Destroyer try to use a metronome from the beggining. I didn't and I regret it everyday. It helps a lot! Dont be so hasty on playing fast. Respect your pace and improve your relation with the instrument. Cheers!

@azazulsoulmeister79598 жыл бұрын
look up the bst excercises nd decide on ones to do consistently everyday. Dont just do random stuff all over the place. Also, dont just practice the things you find cool, practice everything for the style you want to play. vibrato, hammer ons/pull offs, legato, chord changes, alternate picking etc. I recommend looking up Steve Stines lesson videos. cheers.

I'm actually impressed that he uses .11 strings... those are THICC, but hard to bend.
@austintyler85673 жыл бұрын
But if it's a whole step down it's essentially a .09 gauge. Which isn't bad at all. You needs its fors tones
@thelastvigil1112 ай бұрын
It's the tension that would make them difficult to play, especially at that 25.5" scale length, if he was in E tuning. But it's perfect in drop C which is a whole step down and the low string Another whole step down. He doesn't need them for the tones, he needs them to maintain a minimum amount of tension at that lower tuning.
@babackd.64856 жыл бұрын
just tricky? that was seriously difficult to play. great job
@MikkoRantalainen3 жыл бұрын
With Jari being such a perfectionist, they have to design the songs so that they can still perform those live without any mistakes. You cannot make songs so hard that you only get it right barely once in studio.

I think it's a shame that the final arpeggio ( 4:20 ) is so faint in the album version. I mean, it's great, I've listened to Time quite a lot of times and I had hardly ever noticed it...
@Lightnings7 жыл бұрын
Nulenlatin Yes, it is sad. But that's because Jari didn't have the resources to record the guitars on Time I perfectly sounding and had to record inside his apartment often too (which was complicated as he has neighbors etc). Therefore he turned the volume of the guitar tracks down in the songs. (He said this in an interview)

Dude is insane. I tried 11-56 in d standard....The tension on the wound strings is over way over 20lbs with this set. I get zero sustain on my cheap Jackson with that amount of tension.
@liamflynn6929 Жыл бұрын
Sounds like a setup issue. Headstock layout affects tension too. This is drop c as well
@chrisking6695 Жыл бұрын
@@liamflynn6929 Yeah I think it depends on the action as well. The lower the action the looser it will feel even though it’s not necessarily looser.
