What a lovely, caring woman you are. I've offered to walk the neighbour's dogs as they are both elderly and have health issues. It's at times like this that we really start to see human kindness at it's best. My 10yo daughter took 2 big boxes of creme eggs into class yesterday so each k child got one at the end of the day. It was just a little gesture but it made the kids smile at the ends of a stressful day x

Thank you for showing consideration to others and not buying “extra” as some people are, even though you have a large family. I cried last week because I had to go to three different supermarkets to try and get my elderly Dad some bread and milk. I’m veggie myself, so I’ve dusted off some tins of chickpeas and kidney beans I found at the back of the cupboard. And like you said, adding pulses to food makes it go a lot further. I work as a nanny and I also use "You get what you get and you don't get upset". Another thing ma and the kids always say is "You don't always get your favourite, sometimes it's someone elses turn". It is very interesting times when we have to change how we plan our cookibg depending on what is avaliable - maybe it will make us all better cooks in the end!

We’re currently isolating because I’ve been unwell since the weekend, luckily I’ve got a lot of meat in the freezer but my neighbour went out and bought me lots of fresh things and essentials and left them on my door step I could of cried! Oh by the by, if you can get eggs you can scram,e them and put in ice cube trays, larger trays each cube is 2eggs, great for cookies, breads and scrambled eggs. Also, if you wish and can get milk you can freeze that as well just be sure to take a few inches off and freeze, defrost and shake and it can be used like any regular milk you would use. Another good tip for making mince go further in spag Bol chilli shepherds pie etc add some porridge oats you don’t notice them and it makes it go so far .

It really seems to be the same everywhere - no toilet paper, pasta, bread, and some canned goods. But other than that there’s still a lot of food available! We just have to be resourceful and be willing to change plans on what we can find each week. Personally, we haven’t had any problems finding what we need yet. In Canada 🇨🇦

I found what I was able to get cost more but mostly because I had to buy the premium version of products I’d normally buy generic or I had to buy cut chicken which cost more and my biggest problem was fresh fruit and veg was scarce so they limited you to 2 frozen veg products. I think I got half what I usually would but it cost me more then I’d usually spend. But I’m lucky because even though money is tight for us I could afford to make it stretch but I know a lot of people can’t. People sometimes just like everyone to be miserable and will leave nasty comments but you have to feed your family with what you can get so may as well continue as normal.

Keep uploading we are very rural can’t get chicken or bread either. We were clever we bulk bought 4 weeks ago way way before it hit the fab here! We always have a full pantry and freezers so we just topped up on pasta rice etc to use up all we currently have xx

We got our asda delivery about 1pm today and the only things what were out of stock were bread and eggs, several other things were subs but they were good, they have a no more than 3 items policy so we ended up with 3 bananas, we ordered a four pack of Branston beans which were subbed with 4 individual tins and they allowed them. Anyway my husband went to a big Tesco tonight and managed to eggs, no bread and a few bits, we have enough food for about 3 weeks now, there's just us two and I can't go out because I have underlying health conditions.

Omg your lidl had so much compared to my local one in london . The meat section was empty at 9am wednesday morning. I'm hoping everyone calms down a bit because how much can one really stockpile without running out of room to store it all xx

Hi, in the meals of the week playlist number 4, 17 & I think 23 have lentils in them. I don't think I've done a specific video on it. If using in spaghetti bolognese or chilli then I usually add a good handful of dried red lentils to the pan with everything else and just cook for about an hour. It really stretches the meat and you can't tell. Hope this helps 💙

I just made a butternut squash curry and while it was cooking I cooked half a bag of yellow split pea lentils for an hour and added them to the curry for the last ten minutes . It really bulked up the meal and they tasted delicious. I can’t wait to try the red ones . Thank you xx💖

I have a gammon joint in the fridge. Would you add any liquid into the slow cooker or would you just put the gammon in by itself? Thank you x

I would add a little liquid (maybe 200ml just to create some steam and when you shred it, it will reabsorb some. You can use cola, cider, stock or just plain water, whatever you like best x
