Morning - I really enjoy your Lidl enthusiasm! Sausages are very hit & miss when on a budget as well demonstrated in your vlog. I cannot eat the Irish style - though when friends have stayed over I will buy them (Lidl's NOT Aldi) - everyone thinks they are the Richmond brand - I cannot eat them either. One thing I have found in Lidl is their Cumberland Sausage is very good. I choose the ones I can afford, I think there are 2 own brands - one regular & the other has a 'finest' style presentation - one us wrapped the other in a tray. Being from North West England, Cumbria to be precise. Cumberland sausages are a way if life! This comment us made so those who view your vlogs, like a quality Sausage without breaking the bank - try Lidl's Cumberland. Thank you for your vlogs & the education on how to maximise my air fryer. I'm in south Africa and we do not have these brands but I love that you do the comparisons and you are honest in your feedback. When I make my sausages I boil them for a couple minutes first then air fry them, they come out more juicy inside.

In the current climate you have to buy the best you can afford and if that’s a cheaper but still tasty sausage, so be it. Thank you Kerry for doing a comparison , at the moment we are buying HECK sausages because I'm finding the cheep ones really salty and I end up giving them to the dogs who obviously are not as fussy as me. We don't have a local Butchers which is a shame then I would only buy 4 with only being the two of us .❤

Hi Kerry catching up on your back catalogue,now every Saturday my breakfast consists of a superbly sizzling suspiciously succulent steaming sausage sandwich ( or bap!) sprinkled with several spices black pepper, cayenne pepper etc i buy the Morrisons own brand reduced fat sausages £2.20 or so they're delicious and freeze well , i also enjoy their Cumberland variety too , try some garlic powder, btw no sauce of any kind ( like sprinkling sugar on your brekkie lol !) been a sausage - aholic for 68 years ( apparently one of the first things i ate was a bit of sausage i grabbed from my dads plate to which he said "thats my boy" ) more sausage comparison's please . No toast this morning only sausages will suffice....🤔👌

Hi Kerry, i have an Aldi and Lidl near me, i mainly go to Lidl. Yes the Lidl sausages won hands down, they even looked smaller. I usually only buy Richmond sausages but I will give these a try next time I'm in there. Kerry did you get the letter I sent you to your po box. Sandra

Morning Kerry, been playing catch. The Lidl sausage does look the better. It is also similar to a Richmond sausage which used to be cheap but like everything else has gone up a lot. I would certainly buy the Lidl ones. Hope the B'day plans go well.

My Lidl is just 0.25 miles from me by the shortest route but 0.7 if I went by car. The cheap sausages are good even if the meat content is only 42%, I used to buy sausages from a meat wholesaler but now I just shop at Lidl for around 98% of the food I buy. I'm always on the lookout for reduced price meat and often buy most of the meat they have if it's reduced by 30% or more when I go shopping. I once bought over £45 of their expensive sausage that was reduced by 70% for just £13.50

one is pinker which means it probably contains more red meat, mutton is usually used to bulk out cheaper sausages, or less fat, fat is firmer than flesh and fat is flavour, so fattier sausages will tick your box, its a pity the label never showed the pork content of each packet

fid you know you can cook small new potatoes in the microwave? the Interweb article said 10 minutes full power I've got plastic pudding basins with lids (half pint, one pint and pint and a half, cooking for myself I put 6 or so spuds in the bowl add about a tablespoon of water and they steam lovely in 10 mins, if I cut them in half I can usually reduce the time to 8 I've also thrown fine green beans in for last 3 mins of course all microwaves are slightly different so experiment 😇 Bill.

Does anyone know what 'Irish recipe sausage' actually means? The quality of a sausage is determined by its meat quantity (and quality) to my mind, so I don't know what 'Irish recipe' means. Can anyone help me with this one please?

I think it's just a way to copy a known name like Richmond sausages who've built on an irish sausage brand - whatever that is! a bit like 'daisy' margerine copying 'clover' margarine (daisy even looks like a clover tub in lidl, tastes close too but a lot cheaper) I'm tempted now to Google irish sausage but it's late lol

The lidl sausages I'd say are a winner but i get sausages from heron from the chiller they are2 pound 50but they are packed with meatmy son wonteat anyother ones cos the is hardly any skin on them .but for sausage casserole the is nothing wrong witha cheaper sausage lovefran xxxx

They look like maybe the same sausages. Wonder if they are. Packets just slightly different. Guess for legal reasons they have to be, oh dear. Ot looking the same out of the packet are they. You were making me laugh pressing on your sausages for firmness. Worst sausages I ever had was Richmond sausages they had so much fat/ something when cooked there was hardly anything left in the sausage. That was when they first came out mind you.
