John 17:17-23 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Wow it amazes me the trolls that come out when the scripture is being explained. This is Farley’s channel, not anyone else’s. If you want to talk someone into your opinion, use your own channel. Please respect this teacher and ask questions but don’t write a book of a post that is totally against what he is saying.

Christians don't push other Christians out the door we are commanded to love one another in all instances. If that's a reference to me. I just saw plurality in ur comment of people doing this. Forgive me if my comment is not in view here. If ur not referring to my comment, which is scriptural, and just confusion on my part which I ask for help from and no one responds. I've asked several times. God bless.

Adam A no it was not about you, brother. The sovereignty of God is a hard thing to understand for any believer. I think we just have to trust God first and foremost, knowing He is perfect and good and has a plan. We can’t see what He does much of the time so are often confused when Je doesn’t do it the way we may think He should. Rest assured, His ways are perfect and one day they will all make sense. Until then we keep studying the Word and praying for the Holy Spirit to enlighten it for us.

So if i choose sin i am playing church?
@Solomonsaysno4 жыл бұрын
Yes The Walk is a walk not a marathon!! Amen. I see wholeheartedly what is being taught here. What I'm stuck on is the Sovereignty of God and what that means? Gen 20:6 "Then God said to him in the dream,"Yes, i know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this, and I KEPT YOU FROM SINNING against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her." Again when Joseph's brothers want to kill him then one brother says well we can't kill him let's sell him......and scripture is fulfilled (God's hand is there) God is actively suppressing sin here. Also when God uses Assyria (Isa chp10)as the rod/ax to punish Israel to purge them. Then God turns around and crushes the Assyrian King bc he thinks(the Assyrian king) it was by his power and might. God said He wielded the ax no one else. I also agree that our flesh and minds are use to the filthy way we use to live thus we will continue to sin(but we/I hate it now) and will eventually die but our guarantee has been given to us who believe. I agree also that we can not lose our salvation. I just can not see where God was not calling me to Him from day one or before birth Revelation 13:8; 17:8, just as i don't think Drew could say he ended up where he is by accident. That no true Christian believer can say that they are where they are as a believer was bc of their own groping and grasping for God bc Rom 3 says no one is good, no one seeks for God, no one understands,........The groping and grasping IS and was because of God. Does that make sense? I'm 100% on board here with this message but I don't believe that the way I see it as compared to Drew is as far apart as people think. Yet I do lean Calvinistic...then I hear Drew and I see it that way, then I hear Durbin, MacArthur, Lawson, Peters and I see that too. WHY!!!!!!!!!!! why is it this way? I know I'm indwelt, I've been told I'm not before by legalistic teachers bc I didn't exhibit certain "signs", I wasn't "slain in the Spirit", "lost in the Spirit" therefore I can't understand Scripture, that's confusion if I ever heard it. Again when I read Ezekiel 36:24-to chp 38 i see it's ALL of God HE will do these things as also seen in Jeremiah 31:31-. Help

Hey Adam :) The question seems to be free will or no free will. Either we have it or we don't. You mentioned the Person of the Holy Spirit he is actually called "The Spirit of Truth" One of His roles as the Person who lives in us is to guide us in ALL truth about the scriptures and Christ. Press into that relationship with Him by spending time with Him in communion and conversation while reading and meditating on the word and He will lead you into all the truths that you seek. As for the scripture that you used that seemed to suggest the lack of free will of Abimelech I want you to read the verse verse that came right after. Genesis 20:6-8 King James Version (KJV) 6 And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her. 7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine. God said I know your heart... It wasn't to sin against Me willfully so I arranged the situation in a way that has kept you from sinning...you had been deceived and given false information about Sarah and in your ignorance I have kept you from sin. HOWEVER the truth is this she is married etc.... NOW verse 7 here is your choice Abimelech. One way leads to life and life abundantly the other leads to death.... You choose.. This story is a picture of every one of our lives before we meet and accept Christ. We are all living in sin. We all have been fed lies. Many of us are sinning without understanding that we are even sinners. Gods grace and mercy and goodness and Love can keep us from committing certain actions(sins) that may have irreversible affects on our lives.(Looking back He did this on many occasions in my life before Jesus became my Lord and saviour). BUT at some point He will make sure we hear the CLEAR TRUTH from another believer, in church or even in a dream. Then we must make a choice like Abimelech... Life in Christ "thou shalt live" Or life apart from Christ "thou shalt surely die" Hope this has helped. Keep seeking His face and all grace and truth will come. Your brother in Christ

@@seanvann1747 I agree. From our perspective we freely choose. God kept Abimelech from sinning. Abimelech wanted to sin for sure. Everything he did was free, but God was driving the ship. So Abimelech freely did not do the thing he wanted to do. Interesting and a very controversial subject.
@Solomonsaysno4 жыл бұрын
@@billhesford6098 exactly!!! "From our perspective". That's a perfect way to explain or voice what I'm seeing. God is all knowing so He's not learning ever, He can't be looking down the halls of time and seeing who will choose Him or not bc then that would indicate He's learning.... wouldn't it? Hence the before the foundation of the world the names of His people being written in the Book of Life. Also if He did look down the halls of time He'd see nothing but corpses bc we are all dead in our sin until revived. No one seeks for God, no one does good not one, no one understands, etc BUT God in His mercy...... You have no idea how much I rack my brain with this. Acts 4:27-28 is another great example.
@Solomonsaysno4 жыл бұрын
@@seanvann1747 Brother please don't take anything I'm saying as offensive or an intentional shot at u or anyone bc I'm not trying to be divisive. I've contemplated this for about a year now. I'm a new Christian....3 years in. I read the Bible for the first time at age 35, sat and heard the Word read, Christ crucified and why do the first time all at 35. So I understand I'm late into The Way but I believe the Gospel with all that i am and have true hope and happiness in Christ. But I don't want you to think I'm stirring up controversy bc I'm truly seeking the truth the whole truth. So I do appreciate ur input and hope to hear more. Drew and I have conversed a few times on the subject and I believe I've about exhausted him on all my "why" and "but" questions. He has most certainly Gon out of his way to try and teach me the best he can. And like i said i see what he is saying and preaching and I see when he and I talk but afterwards I'll dig around and listen to Sproul, MacArthur, Durbin, Lawson, Peter's, etc and I'm thrown off again bc I see that too. I started out in a Oneness Pentecostal church and it didn't take long for me to get out of there. And where I live there is nothing but Roman Catholics, Baptist, Pentecostals, Oneness Pentecostals, Latter Day and a Methodist church. I've gotten on the websites that Drew has mentioned before to find a NT preaching/teaching church but there are none that he recommends in the state im currently in. But I also notice where Paul says whether in pretense or not as long as Christ is preached then he is happy and Christ glorified. But we have to know and be hearing and learning of the right Christ, the Biblical Christ for that to work.....if that makes sense. So I currently study my Bibles, listen to Drew and the others i mentioned. Drew is about the only one with the message he delievers that I see as lining up with the Bible. He's spot on in Rom 7 and the Law where all the others disagree with that. I get so worked up about this almost to a panic. I've got at least 8 study Bibles and they all seem to lean calvinistic. Crossway's SB is about as down the middle as you can get out of all I've dug in with great theologians input and I understand the commentary is not Scripture but some of these guys are as smart as Drew. J.I. Packer, Wayne Grudem...... though he's a continuationist. I feel they tried to go down the middle as best they could giving both sides. I wish Drew could do a VbV SB I was hoping Tony Evans SB would show some signs of the other view but I found it to be similar, not on the scale of MacArthur's or Sproul's SBs but the same old thing. I'm in the Word as often as can be and am always hoping that Drew is training the younger guys around him how to teach, exegete and properly present the message. Bc from what I see Drew is the best at what he teaches and knows Scripturally and as for the others I've named they are the best at what they teach. I just see what both are saying and I can't discern who is right or if that is even important at this point. Christ, Christ and His Gospel is what's important now how each side sees Christ, not in who He is but in what He did changes one side from worshipping the wrong Christ idk. I didn't think so at one time but the more I look at it the more I get panicked and confused. I just want to know, I have to be certain, I feel like I'm saved and on the right path but my feelings mean nothing and has no bearing on truth. I've got a 3 month old baby girl that I'm going to have to teach this to one day or take to a facility and idk which one or where to go. Pray for me.
