Thank you for preaching this much needed message to dispel the lie of Calvinism. I'm glad you said in the beginning it's almost a false gospel. It's definitely not "good news" and far from the biblical narrative. The fact that there are Christians who are still believing a Platonist view of God and everything that happens is tragic. Its' a pathetic theology that is easily destroyed by the Word of God. Keep up the fine work!

Obviously not clear enough. Your first proof text is about one nation serving the other. Not individuals. The second is Paul addressing the complaint of the Jews that God has invited the gentiles. This belief system relies and survives by plucking verses out of the middle of the Bible, from the middle of a book, from the middle of a chapter and using them in a stand alone fashion. The point was that God determined before the foundation of the world that those who believed would obtain righteousness, and those who tried to obtain righteousness by works would not obtain it. “Free will” is doing what you “want to” do. Natural man in his natural state does not want anything to do with God or Christ - he doesn’t understand spiritual things- he can’t because he’s dead spiritually He is free to chose Christ but he has no “want to” for Christ. That’s why Jesus said you must be born again to even see the kingdom of God.

Is saving faith a gift from God or sinner who is dead in sin has to bring saving faith to the table of salvation? If Jesus died and resurrected for anybody's and everybody's sins then why there should be hell? Jesus paid for anybodies or everybody's sin.
@graftme3168Ай бұрын
Jesus did die for the whole world. It destroyed the barrier, which is sin, that prevented man from being reconciled to God. His death doesn't save anybody. Mr. Farley had some wonderful things to say in his sermon, and I whole heartedly agree that there is NO scriptural basis for individual predestination, but I must disagree with his assertion that Ephesians 1: 4, 5, and 12 speak of the Jews. First, in verse one, Paul tells us very matter-of-factly, that his letter was written to the 'holy people in Ephesus' who were Gentiles, not Jews. So, it is a mistake to attach the pronouns Paul uses to the Jewish people when he clearly wrote to non-Jewish people. Paul is speaking as a redeemed Jew to redeemed Gentiles. The pronouns Paul uses references the commonality of their redeemed statuses which is the purpose of the entire letter. Second, the pronoun 'us' used in 'God loved us, God chose us, God adopted us and bringing us (vs 4 & 5), references that God chose people (us) from out of all His creation. He could have chosen trees, or squirrels, or anything else He created, and made them in His image, but He loved, chose, adopted and is bringing us (people). This is a much clearer understanding of these verses and it does not violate the intended recipients of the letter. The family in verse 5 which Paul says we are adopted into is the Trinity, God's family of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Next, in verse 12, "God's purpose was that we who were the first to trust in Christ should praise our glorious God," can't possibly reference the Jews because they rejected Jesus. They weren't the first to trust in Christ. They threw Christ away! Their rejection of Jesus is what God used to bring the gospel message to the Gentiles in the first place. The phrase, "that we who were the first to trust," references the early believers in general, a group of which Paul clearly considered himself a member because he differentiates himself in verse 13 by saying, "and now you also have heard," which references the believers at Ephesus. Also, Mr. Farley made the comment that those who believed in individual predestination could have no assurance of their own salvation. His assertion is that those who are chosen as individuals would have no way of knowing, for certain, they were among the chosen ones. Here again, I do NOT believe in individual predestination, but wouldn't those who do, find assurance of their salvation in Romans 8:26-27 and Ephesians 1:13-14? With these scriptures so clearly in place, wouldn't those who hold to individual predestination claim this assurance? I fail to see how Mr. Farley's assertion for lack of assurance holds merit. Finally, I wonder why, in his list of scriptures which teach that everyone/anyone is included in God's gracious offer of salvation, did he fail to mention 2 Corinthians 5:15 "He died for EVERYONE, so that those WHO RECEIVE His new life will no longer live to please themselves. Instead, they will live to please Christ who died and was raised to life for them." Nor did he include Matthew 28:19 "Therefore, go and make disciples of ALL nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit." Why would God instruct us to spend time and energy to disciple people the world over if there were only a few individuals who were already chosen by God? In conclusion, I agree that Mr. Farley had some worthwhile things to say, but I believe he is wrong or insufficient in the instances stated above. It's my duty as a Christian to speak out when I feel strongly that something scriptural is misrepresented. This passage in Ephesians is made much more difficult than is necessary. May God bless you with a wonderful new year! Madison.

Yea Lets look at predestination from the Bible standpoint. Nobody will argue that everyone in the old testament times were chosen or predestined. Somehow after Jesus came along we are to think that now he has left it up to chance under Gods free Grace. That God chose some before Christ but after Christ he has chosen everyone, but just because he chose you, doesnt mean you will be saved? This means God left it up to chance how many his Blood would redeem. He could have died for only 12 people or 100 people. Nobody that is familiar with the scripture will deny that the 12 disciples were chose specifically and Paul was chosen specifically and everyone in the Old Testament. Why is it ok that God chooses some of his Disciples which he clearly does, then why isnt it ok if God chooses all his disciples?

God sovereignly decreed that man should be free to exercise moral choice, and man from the beginning has fulfilled that decree by making his choice between good and evil. When he chooses to do evil, he does not thereby countervail the sovereign will of God but fulfills it, inasmuch as the eternal decree decided not which choice the man should make but that he should be free to make it. If in His absolute freedom God has willed to give man limited freedom, who is there to stay His hand or say, 'What doest thou?' Man’s will is free because God is sovereign. A God less than sovereign could not bestow moral freedom upon His creatures. He would be afraid to do so. A.W. Tozer, The Knowledge of the Holy

Of course everyone has a choice. We all have free will. The thing is God does know the full future, as He is outside of time. He has seen the end from the very beginning. He knows who will choose Him and who will deny Him, so in this case, He chooses those who choose Him. That is a simple way to view it, imo. The Bible is clear: God desires that NONE should perish. This is 100% proof they have free will to choose to perish. Not sure how any of these calvinists get around that one verse alone...

Although i am not a calvinist (as in I don’t follow another mans doctrine) I believe their argument as it pertains to 2 Peter 3:9 is in the preceding verses. Peter is writing to the saints about mockers of Christ’s return and is encouraging them to keep the faith until the end when Christ will come back and redeem them and judge the mockers. “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward US, not willing that any (of us?) should perish but that all (of us?) should come to repentance.” 🤷🏾♂️ II Peter 3:9 NKJV. I have listened to many hours out of you're preaching Andrew and have yet to find any fault but in this particular one I must tell you this. 6 years ago God began transforming me from the inside out for no reason whatsoever as I wasn't praying for it, nobody on this Earth did or said anything to trigger it, and in fact I was happy with where I was in life but yet he began a curiosity the size of a mustard seed for Jesus that has now become a complete obsession in my life making me his disciple and I love it with every fabric of my being. there is no doubt in my mind I have indeed been predestined to be his. does that mean if you are not predestined you won't he saved? no! Let's not put God in a box and think his ways are our ways. I cannot honestly say why he does what he does but I do know he has chosen me to be his in the 45th year of my life and the awesome thing about this story is that because he did what he did he must be real and that is the takeaway here. what I hoped was true before he began my transformation is indeed true, God is real! although I thought I was a good Christian I now know that I was a lukewarm one at Best. praise be to God! outside of this particular message I want you to know that I love listening to your preaching Andrew as you are the only one preaching the real gospel, God's grace is indeed free and unconditional-agape- or would he wouldn't have giving it to me for no apparent reason. please don't let the Twisted group who claims predestination is a prerequisite for salvation taint your mind against the possibility of predestination, it does exist in accordance with his humanely unfathomable plan. Not only is their premise that only 'some' are picked.... even those who think they are have no assurance of their own salvation. According to Calvinism, no man can profess belief in Christ apart from God's effectual "cause' upon them, and that is against their own will. However, since there are those who also abandon their profession of faith.... even after many years, and some who were ministers, this too, is no less than at manifestation of God's eternal, unchangeable, decree. Calvin called it "Evanescent Grace" which God grants some ....temporarily... which is never intended to last. It is undetectable by anyone and appears genuine to everyone... but is only temporary.. that their eternal suffering be 'greater' than if they had never experienced 'faith' in the first place. Since the "Doctrines of Grace" allow this is true.... who is next??? The man in the mirror? The problem becomes that no Calvinist can trust the faith they think they have any more than the God they think gave it to them.🤷🏻♂ Most Calvinists were believers before becoming convinced or TULIP. Affirming TUILP does not preclude one from salvation... HOWEVER, it does undermine any hope of God's love for any one individual, personally. It's a very sad thing to see a believer doubt God's love for them. Calvinism plants this seed of doubt because the doctrine, properly understood, affords no individual any assurance of God's love for them or any individual they know, even their own children. It is the same lie the Serpent told Eve in the garden. .... "you can't trust God".

Sorry Andrew. I agree with a lot of what you have to say, but Scripture clearly backs up the thought of God choosing, predestining and having the FULL role in salvation. As unbelieving sinners, we had no thought whatsoever to choose God. He chose us. Acts 13:48 - When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. - This is not what you say in your explanation of this verse. It wasn't a case of everyone who heard that day, believing. It's a nice thought, but sadly, many disagree.

You are right brother. Accepting predestination is the hardest food in the entire Bible and very few people can accept God's sovereignty expressed in predestination. God Bless.

Free will is simply choosing what you “want to“. Natural man has no “want to“ for Christ of the things of God. The Bible says they are foolishness to him, he doesn’t understand it and he can’t understand it for they are spiritually discerned and he’s dead spiritually. That’s why Jesus said you must be born again.

John 3:16 is the most abused verse in the Bible. It doesn't say that sinner is able to believe.. All it says is if a then b... it is not a proof text for ability to do a.

Unfortunately, Adrew is wrong. Predestination is part of God's eternal character confirmed by many verses in both OLD and NEW Testament (hundreds) . A sinful man cannot choose God by his own because he inherited from Adam and Eve hostility to God and he is not even interested in returning to God. People with the nature of Adam replaced God with themselves and their false image of divinity. *" There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. (12) They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one."* Romans 3 Only God's mercy and next grace for a given man makes him need to come to God. *"No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."* John 6:44 Only those who are given from Father can come truly to Christ and be saved. *"And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father."* John 6:65 *"John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven."* John 3:27 Chapter 9 to Romans explains why predestination is righteous in God's eyes. Paul understands human thinking, so he asks if God is unjust to say: He will have mercy on whom He wills? Paul replies that absolutely not. By comparing man to a clay pot, Paul clearly marks the position of man in relation to the omnipotent and omniscient God who decided in advance to what fate he would allocate the vessels according to His eternal will. There are many verses that seem to contradict predestination but they are misunderstood because of the context in which they were written. There are also many verses about human responsibility for accepting Christ, but the context is also important here, and from what perspective and to whom the author addresses.

Wow, your description of the people that believe predestination is nothing at all like they believe. I mean not even close. Your so angry at the millions of saints that believe in Christ. Why so much hate for the millions? I don't get it?

You have it backwards Dr. I think your really great and you've given me hope on your teachings on sin and forgiveness. But all your points against this statement can easily be countered. you've said yourself before its not your walk that gives you security its simply the belief in Gods word and promises. It all comes back to the cross and whether Jesus died for all or for His sheep. Did Jesus actually accomplish anything on the cross or just potentially did. "It is Finished" means exactly that, all was accomplished. Those who the Father chose Jesus died for and He will raise them up at the last day. The call of the gospel goes out, it doesn't contradict whosoever believes, that still remains the same. God knows who are His we do not. We can personally know by our profession of faith. We have to be diligent to make our calling and election sure but our feelings don"t determine whether we are saved its Gods promises. Gods plan is unfolding and it will be successful. We are called to preach the gospel and it is God alone who will save through that word by His Spirit. That should give us confidence that Gods people who have yet to hear will believe. Jesus said " All that the Father gives me will come to Me and the one that comes to Me I will by no means cast out. " No one can come to the Son unless the Father draws Him and He will raise them up at the last day. Basically if you believe than you can consider yourself the elect.

Peter does talk about predestination very plainly. 1 Peter 1-2 speaks about predestination and declares how it happens. Read it. It says to the elect, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in Sanctification of the spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. Notice the trinity at work in our salvation from what I just read. God does the work of salvation from start to finish. God didnt even choose all of Israel. God is clear that just because youre of physical Israel it doesnt mean you are of his chosen seed. Romans 9 6-7 You are a liar Andrew Farley. The isrealites are not the vessels prepared for honor, we just went over that in Romans 9 6-7. You use the verse For God so loved the world, John 3 16 to say God means he loves every person. Thats Not what it means! If we believe that then we need to believe that God is going to pour his spirit out on every person after the day of pentecost and if that were true everyone would be saved. Lets read the text acts 2:17 is understood to be a fulfillment of the Gospel going out to the gentiles. " and it shall come to pass in the last Days, saith God I will pour out my spirit upon ALL FLESH" Does this mean every person in the world or does it mean all the people groups, the gentiles. It means all the people groups not every person. In the same way God doesnt mean every person when he says he loves the world. That would make God a liar because if he meant the whole world as every person then he must not be including Esau because clearly God said he hated Esau. The devil is in the world. Does God love him?

To boldly say it's a false gospel is not nice, however, I dont see what benefit there is preaching it. I have a friend who everytime he sees me says just think before the beginning God chose me. I dont think it's something we have the right to gloat about. How bad will someone not chosen suffer in hello.

If "God Predestined Certain People to Believe" is a lie, then the entirety of Romans 9, and specfically, Romans 9:14-16, must also be a lie. It clearly refutes the basic premise of Farley's claims.
@lindaroberts70305 жыл бұрын
There is not a single person God loves that is in Hell. God saves everyone he chose to love from before the beginning of time. Satan brought sin into men and man begot more sinful men that God never intended to live. Hence the wheat and the tares. God speaks that which he wants to come to pass and that which he speaks always comes to pass. Therefore when God says it shall come to pass that all who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved he is telling the truth. All who call upon his name will do so because the father has called them and by the power of the Holy spirit Jesus has saved them by his blood. Do you see the trinity their?

I just dont see how God created Adam from Nothing ..God is 100% perfect and Adam was 100% nothing..Then God created Man from Absolutely nothing.. So you're saying God had 100% to do with creating man, but it's just a chance that man acts the way they do? God drew the blueprint for mankind. So how is he not 100% responsible...?

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. It sounds like you are blaming God for people making bad choices instead of putting the blame on the people doing it? Please think about what you are saying and pray about it because that doesn't make any sense to me. We have sin in our world, therefore we can chose to sin. Jesus died to wash away our sins. He had to do this for us because that was the only way for us to be saved. God gave us free will to chose sin and to chose him. He doesn't want to force it on us. I tell that to my kids also. I would rather they love me because they want to and not because I make them. It doesn't mean anything if you force someone to love you or obey you.

@@Harpazo_to_Yeshua Seriously? Who made the dust ? Who knew the particles in the dust before he used it? That's a straw man argument..God made everything for his honor and glory. " In the beginning, GOD... PLEASE READ John chapter one " ALL" THINGS WERE MADE BY HIM AND "WITHOUT HIM" WAS NOT ANYTHING MADE THAT WAS MADE" .. ANYTHING in the Greek, Hebrew , Latin etc means the same ....ANYTHING AND ALL THINGS. God is just and Holy and is not bound to the rules he's commanded us..However, " He works all things to the good counsel of his will".. Gen 1 and John 1 prove that ALL THINGS are of God.. He did not create evil, but in his divine creation, he knew that evil would come, yet he still chose to do it that way.
