I spent half of the movie crying, coulnd't help myself, tears rolling and rolling down my eyes hehe. It was very hard to accept who I am and lost a few people because of that, back in the 2010's now Imagine on the 80´s. Such a beautiful movie could relate in so many ways !

Thank you! I read the book a few years ago and loved it. I was very emotional reading the ending. But I wasn't aware there was a movie! Will watch it as soon as I can. Lovely review.

The ending is very powerful.

I bought this awhile ago and then didn’t read it. Then this year I picked up At Certain Points We Touch thinking I was reading it, young Gay love, past and present timelines, black and white sensual cover. I liked the art school vibe of it so I kept reading, but I guess it’s the time to pick this up as well. Is Molly in the movie, I want to see her speaking French? Probably not, after playing Archie’s mom on Riverdale it has undermined her film career.

No, she’s not in the movie but it’d have been fun if she had a cameo.

I had just collected this book from the library. Now so looking forward to it. The film has not arrived here yet but I’ll find it soon I hope.

Yes, I would agree that B E Ellis gets pretty much everything right in Lunar Park; as for this story, Lie With Me, I find that since I've been sick - the past five years or so - I've had less interest in sex-based relationships, especially those dealing with the passion and angst of youth. I'm tempted to say it doesn't matter very much the protagonist is gay but of course how would I really know that? I'll need to take your word for that. A good story has a conflict that's resolved and apparently this has that so I'm left to wrestle with myself to decide if the homosexuality is a necessary feature. Unfortunately, as all of us intimately understand, there's just never enough time to read all the things needed to answer all the questions. Thx for the review. I haven't decided if I'm ready for another book club but I'm seriously considering yours. Have a nice day.

Which is better movie or the book?
@gust57627 ай бұрын
The book is better IMO. But that’s generally true of books that are made into film. I just watched the film and it is definitely worth seeing. It’s beautifully shot and acted. Maybe you can watch the film version first and, if you like it, read the book. Have a great day!

It’s just come out in UK cinemas but I’m sure it’ll be on a streaming service at some point.

I have read this book 5** I would like to see the film but sometimes it can be disappointing if you love the book. I'm glad you like the film. I hadn't heard there was a film off the book , is it called Lie with me ?

Translated by Molly Ringwold? I didn't know she did that kind of work.

Wikipedia says she went to Lycée Français de Los Angeles- So did Jody Foster and she is totally bilingual. I'm guessing that it's the same for Molly.
